I could hardly understand spoken English at the time, but the WH40K 2nd edition rulebooks inspired me to learn the language. And what a pleasure it was, to read the whole set, without asking anyone to translate a page or two for me! I liked the Deathwing novel by Bill King (total unobtainium in 1990s Poland), but it was Raphael's story that stayed in my mind, when I was painting the tactical marines. On the wall next to my bench, I hung that very picture, enlarged to A4 format. I think it's still somewhere in the attic, among other artefacts of my teenage years...
Always great to hear about impenetrable rulebooks becoming gateways to reading and learning a new language! Heard this many times about DnD sourcebooks but seldom for Warhammer. Agreed, Deathwing is absolutely incredible. Love that story. Oh and Mark Gibbons picture of that Blood Angel is probably my all time favourite Warhammer image.
@edpaintsminis "Tex Talks Battletech" are amazingly done lore videos. The Ameris Civil War doesn't really require any prior knowledge and gives the backdrop of the entire setting, as well as the foreshadowing of events to come.
LONG LIVE MINISODES
It’s always a good day whenever you post! ❤
Brother, where have you been? It's been ages
Aw thank you! Don't get too excited - this is just a reading of a favourite story of mine by the mighty Bill King. Enjoy!
@edpaintsminis Are you on an indefinite hiatus from uploading content?
I thought he was inspired by Rafael and took upon a death oath into the Eye of Terror. Thank The Emperor he was working on this epic story instead.
He’s been busy purging in The Emperor’s name
This is quite the gem! Thank you for this!

So... we know now the bringer of good stuff is alive. Doesn't bring much. But it's honest work he presents. Very good.

Great read! How about Space Crusade for a retro infused paint/play episode in the near future? :)
Wouldn't that be something...!
Ah the good old stories. Not like the new stuff and the new "marines"...
