If you want to be _SUPER_ technical, you can still play Halo 4 online on Xbox 360 even though the servers shut down. There's absolutely no progression and no weapon loadouts though. Everyone begins games with an AR and Magnum. Spartan Ops also still works.

I have been playing Gears Of War 3 horde mode online with familt and friends. Have been playing several COD games online with my son and, rando's in TDM. And a little Left 4 Dead 1 & 2. Haven't tried other games though. But it's been great playing those online
12:00 I think linking your account with battlelog could fix this issue. Battlefield 3 has an online pass you might need to download, it doesn't cost any money anymore. EA's 7th gen servers are not really the best, it takes me a few tries sometimes to connect to BF3 on PS3 and there's sometimes issues joining games. I've had a server crash at least once while playing. Probably best to wait a bit if you can't connect, and try again later. Bad Company 2 had a similar problem where it took a few tries to connect to EA's servers, it would throw a "lost connection to EA online" error a few times before actually working.

A lot if people still keep their machines in the hope. Sad day when they shut this down, and what took over was not as good. So there is probably still a very big market for this system.
Apparently COD Ghosts on Xbox is still fairly active with around 250 people still playing. That was last year though so I'm not sure if it's died a bit more. My wife and I played a lot of Ghosts in 2019 and there were still around 1,200 people on a Friday/Saturday night. But wow that was already 5 years ago

Many memories on gear of war!, was one of my favourite games to play multiplayer campaign and also deathmatch. My little boy now has my 360 and he loves it. A lot of games we struggle buying for due to servers being shut down being plants vs zombies I brought him the other him the other day to find out the server is shut, wished I had found this video before I purchased it haha. I can’t believe the market place has gone 😢, the dashboard looks so empty, they have also taken RUclips off the Xbox now.

It may be something with your NAT settings, not the actual lack of players. There should be more people because of backwards compatibility with Xbox One/Series
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is still playable online, same as the first one. Not sure why you put it on that list at the beginning. Battlefield 3 is still quite active. There are always lobbies available whenever I check. On weekends you may find about 100 people online at the same time. I remember I had an issue connecting to EA online games too. As I later found out, I had to update the password of my EA account. Apparently, if you don't play any EA games online for a few years, your account gets deactivated, and you need to reset your password through their website to have it reactivated. I encountered this when I first played Battlefield 1943 last year. So I'd recommend doing that first before testing all these EA games. P.S. I was in that Tomb Raider lobby, by the way.
