    This bike I was going to buy when I was younger. In the end, I had no choice but to buy a Springer Softail because it was not available from the U.S.A. It was the first Harley in my life. (From JAPAN) I am currently riding an FXSTC (1996 model). I am 70 years old.

    Bike looks better than new bikes! That's why I have a 91 with 5000 miles on it immaculate too.

    The evos were extremely reliable, that was one of many great engines that Harley Davidson produced back in the day.

  • @ThrottleResponse
    @ThrottleResponse Год назад +8

    if that thing has the stock H-D CV carb, then you just use full choke for any cold starts. Two twists of the throttle to prime the carb, and it'll light right up.

    • @MadAnthonyI
      @MadAnthonyI Год назад +1

      They didn't have CV carb in 88

      @ThrottleResponse Год назад +1

      @@MadAnthonyI - my apologies, i thought the CV had been around that long. When did Harley introduce the CV carb?

    • @MadAnthonyI
      @MadAnthonyI Год назад +1

      I think 91 or 92. But you still gotta use the choke. I have a CV carb on my 88, though, and I like it

    I flogged my '88 FXR like a rented mule since new and still have it with well over 100K miles (I have many other bikes or it would be more) of abuse. It got an S&S V124 and a Baker six speed but didn't really NEED those and I kept the perfectly good stock engine.

Got mine with less than 3k on it and have ridden the wheels off of it.and yes, a couple rebuilds as well. Giving some Love to it and some tlc and back on the road again Soon! Thanks for the Video, fun to see another Evo early model. It looks box stock too! Can you say what its being offered for??

    She's got great oil pressure too. If you noticed your oil light doesn't illuminate immediately after rolling over.

    The tank needs yellow and red flames, and put some leather saddlebags, that's all. A outlaw haunting outlaws, a Renegade.

    But do you service such an old Harley, the reason I ask is because when I was in America in 2013 I was riding my 1985 Harley WideGlide, it had electrical issues (Starter Motor) that needed replacing, their straight up comment was, 'Sorry sir, we dont work on old bikes like that'.
