I've used serato for years before force to use rekordbox. I on use it to analyze my tracks and adj beat grid. I do as little as possible with it and it still has issues and freezes I have sat there many hours waiting for rekordbox to respond. It's absolutely ridiculous program and needs to be completely revamped. Just let serato have the ability to be in cdjs and standalone controller.
I mean its an impressive feat to make rubbish software even worse, but they managed it. And charged for it and removed compatibility and added adverts.
I really, really hate when I am playing a track halfway down a playlist and I come out of the playlist to another one then enter back i to the original playlist, it jumps back to the first track at the top so I need to scroll all the way down again to get to the songs around the track I was just playing. Dont think this happened on RB6
Does anybody know how to enable key compatible tracks to be highlighted with green colour in your playlist/collection as we used to have? In RB 6 this was automatic as long as the tracks were analyzed with key. Simply cant find this option. I guess matching tracks feature is the solution, but its much more complex and bloated. Overall garbage update, also noticed that two older RB USB sticks just crashes the whole RB 7 program with no apparent reason. If i open those USB sticks on an older computer with RB 6, everything works just fine. Weird program update, and weird GUI decisions…
Started on Rekordbox 5, Kept my 5 library and went to 6 on another drive. Kept using 5 and thought "surely 7 will be better" Still on RB 5. I'm really tempted to move off of the "pioneer" ecosystem at this point. I absolutely do not need anything more than 5 can give me but I'm unsure that if I upgrade hardware I can use it. Also WHY IN THE HELL are the preferences not stored int eh database?
It really is bad. All the things you mention plus some. I’ve been using Serato for years. It def has a couple shortcomings, but nothing like Rekordbox. And you pretty much nailed it at the end. Ppl are forced to use it because that’s what standard equipment takes. It would be nice if somebody built a multi platform cdj/all in one. I’d rather have that than effects.
Anyone found bugs applying CFX with hardware unlock controller? Mine is ddj-flx4. I'm new to RB from traktor. fx layers sometimes glitch and it will remain on when should be off and viceversa. Support told me to got to RB6 which i haven't yet since my replacement NI controller came back...man i love traktor FX ♥
This shows how much interaction the Dev‘s have with the user base.. Yes, None. With every update since RB4 it became worse.. and still i use it a lot, but 90% only in export mode. They hide and lock so much things behind the paywall.
Simply put, this software is not even close to being optimized and streamlined 😂 menus nested in menus, nested in menus 😂😂😂😂😂 One simple solution is to have different menu profiles, Basic, Intermediate, and Pro as other softwares already has, then they can really clean up the basic workflow for each profile. Also they need to have global variables in their own code for shortcuts, changing a shortcut in 1 menu = automatic update in the other menu. Just my two cents.
