Hello Carlo! A question please. I am very interested in learning to be a DJ of a very high level with your skills and I love them. Is the course you have paid for? And what can you learn? Thank you. A big greeting and happy new year 🎉❤
Hey Carlo, Ive been able to download the link for the ddj400 STEMS but i seem to be having a problem. Ive been able to get the STEMS function on RekordBox, but I still cant get the function to work on the ddj400 itself with the Shift Key + Sampler. it still brings to the key shift function. If you can help me out with this or point me in the right direction that would be amazing. Thank You!
Man, I was watching your videos thru my whole journey with being a Dj, from buying my first controller to having my first small gig in a club few days ago, thank you a lot for that ❤, also I must say, that feeling when you get into the flow while performing is AWESOME
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm truly passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others grow. It means a lot to hear that you appreciate the effort. Your support keeps the motivation high!
Thank you for the video! I'm a 14 year old female DJ/Producer from the UK and your videos have given me so much help in my career so far! Thank you so much❤❤
It always makes me feel good when I see you recommend things I’ve been doing ever since I started mixing. Things like using cue points to mark specific sections in a track. It just made sense to me to have a visual representation of the bridge or the breakdown and build-up, etc. One thing I’ve noticed about my timing, I do FAR better cueing in the next track when I’m not looking at my display. When I do it by ear, I hit it dead on like 95% of the time.
That's awesome to hear! 😊 It's always great when techniques like using cue points resonate with your own mixing style. Having visual cues for different sections really helps, doesn't it? Keep rocking those mixes!
I saw this at a colleague of mine: I think the best layout for Serato DJ Pro is when you have your decks right and left, so that the wave form can be in the same line. It's long enough and you got a higher library, especially when you got sampler pane all the time enabled like me.
That's a clever setup! Having your decks side by side does make a lot of sense, especially when you want a more expansive view of the waveform. It's all about finding what works best for your workflow. Do you find it enhances your performance having everything laid out that way?
I'm a brand new DJ, but your content has been teaching me so much. Its like learning a new instrument. I really appreciate all of the free content and hope to be able to pay it back someday!

So, I bought an FLX4 and have been going at it for about a month now with the guidance of your videos. I asked you on another video about where to get music - thank you so much for including the DJ pools segment in this video. Excited to see what you do in this new year!

I may be missing something in my current configuration (relatively new to this). But DJ Studio export is only worth it if you use Rekordbox, for example, if you use Serato DJ Pro. Good eye! From what I recall, it's mostly for Rekordbox. DJ.Studio works better in exporting for Rekordbox for now, though they may be working on more Serato-oriented features in the future.

how tight the latency can be depends on the state of your computer .It needs to be clean .The fans need to be in good order as do all the connections and if its old you might want to think about upgrading as dj software has had a lot of changes lately and even my eight core beast is getting a little out of breath.
So glad you found it helpful, bro! 🔥 Going beyond the default settings is a game-changer. Paris and Shaq better watch out - you're about to bring some serious fire to the mix! Keep pushing those boundaries.
Fantastic video. I loved learning new settings for Serato, although I'm not using the app because my laptop doesn't handle stems very well. 😂 I'd love to see a video of settings on standalone controllers (both Pioneer and Denon). It would be very useful too. Thanks for creating this great content 😊
Ohhhh, that's a great idea! I'll tinker around with my standalones first, and see what I can find. Though, for Pioneer ones, the settings should be somewhat similar
I thought those latency settings are there to set how long will the sound card buffer the sound, so that it plays without delay or any noticable clicks? Another thing I'd like to know: I see you often playing on computer-based controllers. Would you prefer those on gigs or all-in-one controllers?
Absolutely! You nailed it with the latency settings. Adjusting the buffer ensures that you get smooth playback without any delays or annoying clicks. It's like fine-tuning your performance for the best experience. Great observation! Computer-based controllers offer a lot of flexibility, but the choice between them and all-in-one controllers often comes down to personal preference. Do you enjoy the versatility of computer-based setups, or do you prefer the simplicity of an all-in-one unit? It's all about finding what feels right for you! I often just use whatever is available!
@@djcarlo Well, my colleagues said to use professional Pioneer hardware, so that it's possible to send songs to the console across multiple laptops. But to be honest, how often would you use this feature? In my case rarely, so I think of getting a Denon Prime 4+, because it offers samplers and stems. And I can still then analyze the songs at home for CDJ's using Rekordbox
I got a DDJ 1000 the last week and the crossfaders where goin mental tought it coz its windows Laptap but tried it on my MAC the unit was Gubbed ! would you Rec any other DJ unit @@djcarlo
Thank you so much for everything you do for us Carlo. Truly always there for me when I need to clarify something. Quick question about DJ. Studio. I got it, I also add your code btw :). As for the hot cue I'm still unclear about my own transitions. I also have different letters. I know for me Hot cue A means Deck A and on another song first hot cue is B which indicates to me that'a for deck B. As for the rest is prob Highs, Mids and Lows but where can I find these info to clarify. I tried to go back on DJ. Studio to figure out my work but still unsure about every single transition I've done. Thanks again and hope you're doing amazing. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
It has been set up and now it is really easy to pick up songs and very practical. I am worthy of being the most hardcore DJ blogger on RUclips who shares for free.
Hi DJ Carlo, Loving your work buddy excellent skills I'm a long-time watcher and just subscribed, in the above video you showed in recordbox how to highlight in green the tracks that will Harmonise with other tracks, is this setting available on Serato?
I have this DJ controller but have not put it into practice. I’m asking this genuinely- can you recommend a course to learn how to DJ and use this controller to its fullest potential?
My latency is about one notch from the furthest left hand mark. When my fans are clean and everything is off and i have a couple of small external fans on the go pointing at my computer.A good idea in summer by the way, then im good but if i forget to turn off the blu tooth or wifi then watch out.
great stuff, carlo.. Can you explain why rekordbox has 2 sets of numbers for BPM and serato only has one? when using BPM synch in serato I move tempo fader on any track at any time and they change BPM but rekordbox does not do this. it's very clunky and i dont understand it after using serato so much. do you know what im talking about?
Thanks for the video. When I activate "Phrase (Full Waveform)" and "Always show types of phrases" in my view settings in rekordbox I have these different light scenes shown directly under the phrases. Do you know how to hide them?
DJ Carlo thank you for all the vibe and teaching. I dont know why but even though i did exaclty what you did for the section labeled thing, it didnt work! I have a FLX4 on windows 10! Thank you for the content bro!
@@djcarlo I found it under collection , but was looking under my playlists which it isn’t there. Is there a way of getting it for just my SoundCloud playlists? Many thanks for your help!
Great vid I’m a DJ of some 40 years as a DJ I’m actually 58 but I find your Vids entertaining, informative and make me try new stuff, although I’m more of a flow mixer. Can you do the same type of vid for VDJ and Djay5 if you ever get time.
Hey Carlo!! Dope video!! What’s your opinion on numark platinum fx? Should I get it? (For bedroom use, maybe some parties/gigs in summer) I have had the baby numark party mix for 3 years and I really want to get an upgrade to learn more skills!! Btw I’ve considered the flx4 but it’s kinda overpriced in my country (almost 370 bucks)
It's pretty okay if you don't scratch. Jogwheels are pretty heavy. However, its the only controller in its category that has digital displays on its jogwheels I believe. I have a review on it if you wanna check it out!
Hi Carlo, thanks for the tips, much appreciated! I also have the FLX4, may I know your thoughts on Rekordbox for iPad? I can’t find a lot of the settings I see in the PC version. I probably should get a laptop/macbook instead. 😅
Such a great video, Carlos! You are a fountain of knowledge. I don't have that setting to replace pad more with stems in Serato DJ Pro. Is that a feature that's limited to certain controllers?
Ah, the problem is, when I did this video, Traktor didn't release their major update yet, so I couldn't really do much. I might do that once I've familiarized myself with the new Traktor though
Great video it’s very helpful! Only thing for me however is that the sectional mixing layout doesn’t appear on my screen even after I adjusted my settings to the ones you show. Not exactly sure why this is, but I’m trying to figure it out myself
almost all of them, except the stems setup - this i will have to look into more deeply. it took me a little bit to figure out how to activate pad fx - at the very bottom of the rekordbox window 😂 my favorite setting was changing the waveform color - this is super helpful! thx@@djcarlo
How did you access the Pad FX settings on serato? Just started messing around with my FLX4 and my pad FX1 isn't doing anything and the bottom 4 of pad FX2 are not doing anything as well. Would appreciate your help and your videos have been really helpful thus far! 🙌🏻
i make stems based mashups sometimes multimixes with an instrumental here a vocal there etc sometimes just two tracks more intimately blended but right now i find making these mahup up tracks easier and then i cue point them for when i record a show for twitch.I use Serato studio which also has stems so this sort of blurs the line between production and djing which is more creative. When i get a new mac then live stems will be a thing ..as well
Hi DJ Carlo! First I want to say huge thanks for creating this video! It is totally useful for a newbie like me. Second thing is, I wanna ask related to FX Pads. I have been download STEMS through your link, and I am using the mapping pad fx in the video attached. But when I see in the last section of this video, your Pad FX turns different with the STEMS. Is it different pad fx mapping when we press sampler (for STEMS) and pad fx1? Thank you!

how tight the latency can be depends on the state of your computer .It needs to be clean .The fans need to be in good order as do all the connections and if its old you might want to think about upgrading as dj software has had a lot of changes lately and even my eight core beast is getting a little out of breath.
Indeed. That's why I always future proof myself with high specs. It'll make sure I won't need to change laptops again for like a decade
This is the DJ bible, Thanks DJ Carlo!
That's what its meant to be! Haha, glad you think so!
Bro, super helpful. I've just been going with default, but this is def gonna get me on par with Paris and Shaq.
So glad you found it helpful, bro! 🔥 Going beyond the default settings is a game-changer. Paris and Shaq better watch out - you're about to bring some serious fire to the mix! Keep pushing those boundaries.
For pad number 7 on Pad FX, you need to set the reverse vinyl brake to "ON" but you have it set to "off".
Thank you for pointing that out!
Fantastic video. I loved learning new settings for Serato, although I'm not using the app because my laptop doesn't handle stems very well. 😂
I'd love to see a video of settings on standalone controllers (both Pioneer and Denon). It would be very useful too.
Thanks for creating this great content 😊
Ohhhh, that's a great idea! I'll tinker around with my standalones first, and see what I can find. Though, for Pioneer ones, the settings should be somewhat similar
@@djcarlo thank you very much for your interest on the idea. See you on next videos 🤗
DUUUUUUUDEE I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!!! you made my life better!
I'm so happy the channel's really helped you out!
@@djcarlo officially you're the best dj RUclipsr! At least for me man!🎧🎶
Yoooo I’ve learned SO MUCH from you in the short time I’ve followed you! Thank you for the amazing content and education you’ve provided! ❤
I'm glad you have buddy! More educational videos coming up soon!
Happy New Years DJ Carlo !
Happy New Year as well Tankerock!
All of your videos are very informative and explained perfectly. Thanks for the channel.
Im happy you think so bud! I try to be as concise with my tutorials as possible!
Just bought an flx4, I am way over my head, there’s a lot more to this than I thought
There is!!! But the best time to learn the ins and outs of it is when you start out 🥳
Favourite teacher!! 🚀🚀
Always here to impart nuggets of wisdom!
And I can still then analyze the songs at home for CDJ's using Rekordbox
just changed from NI to a DJJ and massive thanks for the tips !
Great choice! NI was my first love, but then they stopped updating Traktor.
I got a DDJ 1000 the last week and the crossfaders where goin mental tought it coz its windows Laptap but tried it on my MAC the unit was Gubbed ! would you Rec any other DJ unit @@djcarlo
Happy new year DJ Carlo
Happy New Yeae too Galeo!
Thanks for the video and a happy new year.
You’re welcome! Happy new year and good luck with your career!
Cheers!
The highs, mids, and lows are all on the left panel of DJ.Studio! Check out my tutorials on their RUclips page :)
awesome video - can't believe the technology out there to increase efficiency!
Yes sir! And it's just getting better and better!
It has been set up and now it is really easy to pick up songs and very practical. I am worthy of being the most hardcore DJ blogger on RUclips who shares for free.
Right!? That's why I picked out these settings! They make life so much easier behind the booth
greatest rekordbox video ever?!!!👌
Hahahaha, thank you! I really appreciate that!
Hi DJ Carlo, Loving your work buddy excellent skills I'm a long-time watcher and just subscribed, in the above video you showed in recordbox how to highlight in green the tracks that will Harmonise with other tracks, is this setting available on Serato?
Unfortunately, no. At least not in the same way. It's really a Rekordbox thing
I have this DJ controller but have not put it into practice. I’m asking this genuinely- can you recommend a course to learn how to DJ and use this controller to its fullest potential?
I would recommend my course! djcarloatendido.sellfy.store/p/ms3fx1/
You've been hitting the gym! Let's goooo! When are you in Miami?
Finally someone noticed! 😆
Excellent video, Amazing editing, Fantastic information. Well done DJ Carlo
Thanks Rory! Only the best for this channel!
Hi DJ Carlo, thank you for the amazing video as always.
Question: For PAD FX, how come "V.Break 1 OFF" is set up twice?
So I can use it in rapid succession haha
Great video. i have been wanting to do that hotcue trick but did not know how to do it until now
Thanks! Yeah, a lot of people have been asking about that, so I decided to make sure to highlight it
My latency is about one notch from the furthest left hand mark. When my fans are clean and everything is off and i have a couple of small external fans on the go pointing at my computer.A good idea in summer by the way, then im good but if i forget to turn off the blu tooth or wifi then watch out.
That's a lot of fans there! Hahaha. Glad you found a system that works though!
Wow more amazing and useful content ... and for free! Thanks so much for all these videos.
More of these coming for sure! Glad you enjoyed this video buddy!
Awesome tips for beginners!! But it seemed that its more for Rekordbox than Serato towards to end, unless it's the same settings for both.
Indeed, I found more settings for Rekordbox. Serato was a lot more straightforward, hence the slight imbalance
@@djcarlo LOL. I've just gotten back into DJ'ing again. I have a DDJ SB and now SB3. Any good pointers you recommend?
great stuff, carlo..
I think it's a design choice. Rekordbox DJ is just trying to be more techy lol
Yoooo Carlo you the MAN. Nice vid bro. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
For sure man! Had to update the previous video at some point :D
Thanks for the video. When I activate "Phrase (Full Waveform)" and "Always show types of phrases" in my view settings in rekordbox I have these different light scenes shown directly under the phrases. Do you know how to hide them?
Hmmm, I'll try to have a look at that. I can't seem to recreate that on my end, or at least what I think you're talking about
Found it, I had to deactivate "display lighting thumbnail on decks" in the lightning-extensions setting. Thanks for your answer tho
Happy New Year DJ Carlo 🤙🏽
Happy New Year as well Kary!!
YES 🙌🏿 thank you 😊 🎶
For sure! Enjoy applying these settings to your program!
thank you love from 🇵🇭
You're welcome! Good luck and enjoy!
DJ Carlo thank you for all the vibe and teaching. I dont know why but even though i did exaclty what you did for the section labeled thing, it didnt work! I have a FLX4 on windows 10! Thank you for the content bro!
Did you analyze the tracks first?
I can’t find the master button to then highlight the key column in green. Any ideas? Thanks
Start from scratch and try it again! make sure to copy exactly what's on my screen!
@@djcarlo I found it under collection , but was looking under my playlists which it isn’t there. Is there a way of getting it for just my SoundCloud playlists? Many thanks for your help!
Another great tutorial. Subscribed and bell has been clicked 👌
That means a lot!!
Great vid I’m a DJ of some 40 years as a DJ I’m actually 58 but I find your Vids entertaining, informative and make me try new stuff, although I’m more of a flow mixer. Can you do the same type of vid for VDJ and Djay5 if you ever get time.
I'll see about that Pauli! Gotta do a lot more research into both for that :)
Just a quick one as I keep getting free trials of DJ studio does it output those cue points to VDJ or DJay or just Serato and RB, I have all 4 lol
And a fell of the chair with the trainwreck mix and funeral scene, lol
Finally learned to midi map but the effects don't stay on unless it's the 3 effcets that take you out of a song. Big miss there by Pioneer.
That's so strange! I don't think thats been my case with midi mapping. Do they just revert otherwise for you?
Hey Carlo!! Dope video!!
What’s your opinion on numark platinum fx?
Should I get it? (For bedroom use, maybe some parties/gigs in summer)
I have had the baby numark party mix for 3 years and I really want to get an upgrade to learn more skills!!
I noticed for pad fx you do "v brake 1 off" for both the top and bottom, is that on purpose? why have that repeat instead of using a new one
Oops, mightve accidentally double-assigned it 😅
Hi Carlo, thanks for the tips, much appreciated! I also have the FLX4, may I know your thoughts on Rekordbox for iPad? I can’t find a lot of the settings I see in the PC version. I probably should get a laptop/macbook instead. 😅
I havent explored it well myself, but I will say it's slightly watered down compared to the laptop version. Still a good program though!
Such a great video, Carlos! You are a fountain of knowledge. I don't have that setting to replace pad more with stems in Serato DJ Pro. Is that a feature that's limited to certain controllers?
Only available on Rekordbox DJ Gear :)
@@djcarlo I see. Thanks for letting me know!
Not all DJs use Serato or Rekordbox. I use Traktor and I have a question, could you show me how to set this option on Traktor?
Ah, the problem is, when I did this video, Traktor didn't release their major update yet, so I couldn't really do much. I might do that once I've familiarized myself with the new Traktor though
Great video it’s very helpful! Only thing for me however is that the sectional mixing layout doesn’t appear on my screen even after I adjusted my settings to the ones you show. Not exactly sure why this is, but I’m trying to figure it out myself
Analyze the tracks first! That's the usual issue I see when they don't appear for others 😄
I have te exact same problem, how do you analyse tracks Carlo?
Again many thanks DJ carlo Ive yiur stems script installed thank you for your many helpful videos
Happy to help! Glad you’re gonna use Stems!
@@djcarlo I'm gonna try anyways ,but either way I'll have fun in learning 😁
Hey Carlo, newbe here, just wondering if the stem mapping works with serato as well. Keep up the good work.
Not for the controllers unfortunately. It's a little trickier on my end since Serato's compatible controllers are so varied 😅
Dude, thank for the awesome tips, i just downloaded the stems file. Looking forward to using stems!!!
You're gonna love it, I guarantee you!
these tips are so awesome - thank you!!! ✨🙏
For sure Adam! Which ones were you able to apply?
almost all of them, except the stems setup - this i will have to look into more deeply.
it took me a little bit to figure out how to activate pad fx - at the very bottom of the rekordbox window 😂
my favorite setting was changing the waveform color - this is super helpful! thx@@djcarlo
How did you access the Pad FX settings on serato? Just started messing around with my FLX4 and my pad FX1 isn't doing anything and the bottom 4 of pad FX2 are not doing anything as well. Would appreciate your help and your videos have been really helpful thus far! 🙌🏻
Oh man, Pad FX doesn't exist on Serato unfortunately. It's all on Rekordbox only.
@@djcarlo would you recommend rekordbox over serato? I've heard good things about both.
thanks for the tips
Woohoo!
i make stems based mashups sometimes multimixes with an instrumental here a vocal there etc sometimes just two tracks more intimately blended but right now i find making these mahup up tracks easier and then i cue point them for when i record a show for twitch.I use Serato studio which also has stems so this sort of blurs the line between production and djing which is more creative. When i get a new mac then live stems will be a thing ..as well
Believe me, once you get a new more powerful Mac, your world will change! Instant stem mixing hits very different
Thank you!
I may need to update them. I did these settings on RB6, and I'm not sure if they held up on RB7
Hey man, im just starting out using the Numark dj2go2.. been doing this a couple months and even with the limited functionality, with your settings ive been putting together a few mixes... time for an upgrade soon..
There we go Sahil! Can't wait to see what kind of magic you can do when you upgrade your gear!
