And i wonder how this beatport and SC tidal work in a club as you just play on offline decks? You should still have a folder prepared before with your selected tracks for the gig, isnt it
I know that CDJ3000s have the Beatport Sync access if you pay for it, but I think you can only play a gig from SC, Tidal, or Beatsource if you're on a Laptop (with internet).
No reason not to use it as part of preparation. It can streamline the process of what songs could mix or mash well with a song you may typically have trouble digging through your entire collection for.
Isn’t finding the next track a human function? Like, subjective perception of the dance floor, that AI can’t know? And isn’t the DJ job to know it’s own music collection?
Counting BPM is the task of the DJ, not the software. Visualizing a waveform is the task of the DJ, not the software. Real DJs don't use Rekordbox. They only use records, for example vinyl or shellac. 🌈

I'm all for new technology and using it as tools, but a huge part of being a DJ is knowing your music, searching for music, reading the crowd/vibes, adjusting, taking your audience on a journey, etc... what's the point if the program just tells you songs to play next and does all of that work for you. How will DJs separate themselves if they just hop on Beatport and play the same songs from the top 100. Idk, i feel the attention on 'hey Rekordbox has AI and will tell you songs to play next" is pretty lame.
i totally agree with this sentiment, but as a professional creative (art director and designer) who's industry has been over run by AI.. it's still just a tool. A fantastic camera in the hands of a novice will create crisp images devoid of emotion and personality. An experienced pro can capture the spirit and energy of a moment with a disposable camera; "It's the wizard, not the wand." Tools are no replacement for inspiration and creativity imo. Moreso than anything, i think AI helps flatten learning curves and lower barriers to entry for the inexperienced (like myself lol). Those of us that value creating atmosphere, connecting with the audience, and having fun together will ALWAYS rise to the top.
Idk if this is something other's want but I want that. In performance mode, why can't we zoom waveform all the way out (just like it can be done in Virtual DJ)? I would love to have that ability to see my track all the way out and know when to cue the track.

Major flaw in the library section, if I'm in Collection I can't see my playlists tree, so I cannot drag track into those playlists like before. If I select the playlists tree, I cannot see my Collection, only shows me tracks that are already in those playlist... so how do I add new track to the playlist? I'm sticking to Rekordbox 6.8.0, this update it's not good.
I completely agree. This is a major issue. It’s infinitely harder to search for tracks CTRL F brings collection up then you type and the words just disappear. Only way to get play list and collection to display is have a sub window which really is not productive. I absolutely hate this new version
I've found you can right click and there is a menu option to add the track to a playlist. But it's not ideal. I liked the drag & drop workflow a lot more.
I have installed it and rekordbox is on trial mode with a FLX10 connected. Im logged in with the register account. Why is the trial activated? On 6 everything was unlocked with hardware unlock
Exactly the same with me when I try to get the free rekordbox version 7 it offers a 30 day trial instead and it dosent let me close any of the windows down I have to shut the whole laptop down to get out of it
From what I understood after reading the explanation for each plan that is on the Rekordbox website, the performance mode can be unlocked into the free plan with an unlock device , but they took away the mix recording option, that is available only during the trial period. Well, time to sell my DDJ-1000. Thanks God I also have a Denon Prime 4+.
Hi guys! I have a big problem to unlock the free plan features. I can’t register at Owner / Product Register because is greyed out. When I plug my FLX10, the features are unlock and at the bottom right of the screen shows an upgrade plan window and is annoying. When the FLX10 is unplug the features are lock again and I can’t still make the “owner registration” and the same window shows up. Please help!

Hey, I was thinking of buying a DDJ-FLX4. I've been having trouble finding which parts of the software I have available to me if I buy the hardware. I'm worried I'll be buying the hardware and will then on top of that will have to pay for the software to simply be able to DJ. Could someone let me know? Thanks!
I'm still not a fan of a redesign on the collection explorer. With the new redesign, you lose the old ability to drag a local folder in Explorer and drag it into your collection as a playlist automatically. Also, Pioneer can't seem to handle the request to view my subscription status. But I guess the device authentication works: I can now use my Xone K2 with RB without a subscription or Pioneer device connected. I have always hated that Pioneer had MIDI mapping/capability for non Pioneer hardware locked away behind a paywall, even if you do own Pioneer hardware already.
There's 1 big problem with all pioneer related software and equipment. Is far to expensive and all the same inside from screen down. Pioneer is more of a fashion statement. Yes I do use myself and have a lot of pioneer equipment myself but pioneer just always holds something back so you just need that little bit more to do that little extra. Technics 1210/1200 did not. Leads you on !
It's also saying that after 30 days the merge FX go behind a paywal, I don't use them but do have an FLX6. I'm gonna really annoyed if they do this it's sly as foook
Anyone tried to use RB7 with Bluetooth headphones on a Silicone Mac? The sample rate gets locked at 8 or 16 Khz (train station PA quality). I've tried AirPods and Senheissers and both have the same issue. RB6 functions as normal. Good one Pioneer.
Made the mistake of updating to Rekordbox 6 from 5 and all of a sudden my cdjs wouldn't work in HID mode without paying a subscription so had to go back
I'm having a nightmare with it. It locks up when analysing more than 6 tracks at once, both analysis and updating any artwork with any track loaded, causes said track to repeat a 1/4 beat section (randomly). Not noticeable until you playback the track and notice the glitch and the BPM go out of sync. My machine is within the recommended requirements and I have run tests, which show hardly any RAM use, but 100% processor use (i7). Just a moment ago, the UI completely froze - I could not get much response from the DDJ 1000 FX, but the hot cues worked. Nothing moved on screen, jog wheel screens were also frozen and it was not possible to load a track. The existing track played out. Good job I didn't un instal 6.
I wonder if they're keeping stems poor quality / low cpu so they can integrate them on their new standalone controllers when they are released like a new XZ.
Honestly i want Rekordbox to implement proper auto Beatgrid Analysis for all those none DAW produced tracks even more than passable Stems, DJPro does this amazingly, all the old Funk & Soul ect has proper locked Beatgridding out the box, literally hardly ever do you need to manually correct it. C'mon Rekordbox sort your shit out already dag nabbit!!!!!
May i suggest a thing out of, i hope, similar experiences. try changing beat sync to bpm sync. Bpm is usually consistent, so only minor nudging is required here and there.
@@mh_dot_fm Good call yes Beat Sync is proper bad especially if you like to scratch drop ect as it takes over and throws off your Scratches terribly. I use BPM Sync but honestly i only like to tap it on/off to save the initial time on the Tempo Faders, i have far too many occasions where leaving any Rekordbox Sync ON throughout a transitions will Goof up in some way, i just do not trust it at all, Serato Sync is far superior and i will leave that on during a Transition.
rekordbox 7 is completely broken have you even used it ? the problems range from microstutter to completely corrupted sections of tracks to the audio processing effectively noise cancelling parts of songs. it's not fit for purpose and they are trying to charge money for this, you'll be refunding your clients and ruining your reputation if you try to use this software at a gig. Honestly crossfader promoting software in this state for whatever kickback you are getting you need to do better.
Yes! Stems sound horrable other than that I managed to midi map 2 Allen and heath K2 linked with Ableton and a launchpad pro they finally got me off tractor 5:26 I can now say they did an amazing job.

I've created a folder on my computer for each genre and dragged them over to rekordbox so they have the same name and rekordbox knows the locations. However once I add songs in the folders on my computer it isn't automatically adding them in rekordbox, Is there a feature for this? Or do you have a suggestion on how to do this quickly? I'm currently doing it by copying and dragging them folder by folder. Which is pretty time consuming if you have around 50 folders.
I used to have just one folder on my computer and sort them in Rekordbox itself, but after a few updates and completely erasing of Rekordbox (ofc just before shows) I learned the hard way that keeping them in folders on the computer is much safer. Please let me know if anyone has an idea, I can't imagine there isn't an auto update function or quick go around for this.
This new update is ass.. Ever since I did update every track I buy and download from Beatport isn’t loading into record box, none of the track information or album art is showing… Also it won’t even let me move around songs in a playlist… Pure fkn ass
I like new technology and playing with tools/gears/software but.... there absolutely nothing I find interesting in that new version... On the other hand there is no improvements on things that everyone ask (beatgrid, stems, smart playlist within a playlist, stability...) (I still have files that play on everything (gears and software) I can try except Rekorbox... I fell like pioneer has been (again) doing what ever they feel like doing and not what the users wants... They have been doing the same with their controllers and CDJ (still no gate cue on CDJ3000 really ???)
Yeah, all new functions etc are nice. But call me oldshool or whatever: I use recordbox only analyzing the tracks in my collection. All the rest I do on my decks directly and spontaneously. I don’t give a fart on DJs who produce their mix on the screen and then only turning knobs on the decks. Disgusting and RUclips is full of them. By the way, I will update my RB today.
This looks dope but the music search ai function is potentially problematic. Cause now it's just gonna add an AI algorithm to DJs searches and make everything even more homogenized and everyone using this is gonna just have the same sounding sets. 🤮
I just installed recordbox 7 and its showing me that its a 30 day trial. Not sure why since I own pioneer dj gea, the opus quad actually. I am missing something here? Can anyone pleasae help refigure this out ?
You’re probably the best person to ask. I have a FLX - 10. If I move the jog wheel on deck, one it triggers the stems on deck for to toggle on and off. Which is a huge problem if you are scratching or moving the jog wheel on deck one while deck floor is playing. I thought it was a hardware issue and got another FX 10 and it still does it. Any possible solution?
How come it wont let me add songs to rekordbox do I need to pay for it ? Cause i notice only 10 songs are on the list but there songs from my iTunes that i bought but not letting me transfer the other songs that i downloaded on itunes

It's a feature you can use if you wishes. You don't have to use it if you don't. It's like having a garage full with tools: for in case you need them.

i havent seen any club dj playing with online services :D. I think that is more private/event type of dj, when you get some customer petitions :D

I cant speak for CDJs but you can see a smaller waveform when the tracks are playing on your laptop with the cuepoints visible

I think the trial is about the features that are locked on the free plan. You get access to premium plan for a trial period.?

The version 6.8.5 works well with flx4 and so far is really great I’m using it when I’m performing, rekordbox 7 doesn’t give flx4 owner for free.
The fact that they didn’t improve the stems makes the update pointless to me. That’s all I need from Rekordbox right now 😪

For some odd reason when i play a track on rekordbox 7 the bpm starts bugging and changes randomly, does anyone know how to fix this??
Here's the BIG problem. For cue point analysis then you need to be on the monthly subscription plan $19 for cue points!!!! what a joke.

Yeah, all new functions etc are nice. But call me oldshool or whatever: I use recordbox only analyzing the tracks in my collection. All the rest I do on my decks directly and spontaneously. I don’t give a fart on DJs who produce their mix on the screen and then only turning knobs on the decks. Disgusting and RUclips is full of them.
By the way, I will update my RB today.

This looks dope but the music search ai function is potentially problematic. Cause now it's just gonna add an AI algorithm to DJs searches and make everything even more homogenized and everyone using this is gonna just have the same sounding sets. 🤮
I just installed recordbox 7 and its showing me that its a 30 day trial. Not sure why since I own pioneer dj gea, the opus quad actually. I am missing something here? Can anyone pleasae help refigure this out ?

You’re probably the best person to ask. I have a FLX - 10. If I move the jog wheel on deck, one it triggers the stems on deck for to toggle on and off. Which is a huge problem if you are scratching or moving the jog wheel on deck one while deck floor is playing. I thought it was a hardware issue and got another FX 10 and it still does it. Any possible solution?
How come it wont let me add songs to rekordbox do I need to pay for it ?
Cause i notice only 10 songs are on the list but there songs from my iTunes that i bought but not letting me transfer the other songs that i downloaded on itunes

Rekordbox 7 keeps crashing out program after 5 minutes during track analysis. Never had this on version.6.x.6
When I get the new rekordbox 7 do I need to change the settings I had with rekordbox 6 or can I leave it the same ?
I wish it would recognised and analysed new music upon start up and gives you the option of importing new music instead doing by genres/files or folders. Thanks

My recordbox says: "There is no analysis data for the track seperation fuction". It works only with songs that I have downloaded

And unfortunately 7 isn't working for anyone! I've been trying to fix this and figure out how for ever now !

Software is running DJs out of business. All we will see in the future are bottle service girls gyrating in front of a laptop that is choosing algorithms for the whole set.

@@autonomy_ It's a major release. So you have to download it yourself. RB update manager only check for minor release updates.
Mind too hasn't. I had to search it, download, and install it.
So in my playlists and collection, the bpm category is not showing up at all .Don't know if anyone else is having this problem. I NEED THAT KEY CATEGORY!
