My back has been problematic for quite a while: thoracic spine, and the muscles covering the lower sacrum area which are quite painful. Oddly, my lumbar region is no problem. I do many back exercises and this one is an oh-so-feel-good routine to soothe a growling fatigued back. If I memorize this routine, I can do it when watching TV or fiddling with my laptop. Nice rworkout that made my spine buzz! Thanks to both of you for this relaxing interlude...Anastasia

Try to keep your shoulders relaxed when doing the cat cow but when doing the shoulder shrug move that's when your shoulders come up to your ears with your shoulders moving backwards so your shoulder blades touch each other.
