Good morning, Aiko and April! It felt so good to work out with you again this morning! After my little foray into the bed leg workout last week, I decided that this is the week I will begin to really focus on getting back in shape! After being mostly sedentary since early July, when my mother's illnesses and hospitalizations became intense, my weight is higher than it's been in about 25 or 26 years (when I was still working on losing postpartum weight) and about 30 pounds higher than my goal weight. I also feel more out of shape than I have felt in years and have been finding that I need to stop to rest from time to time when taking long walks or walking up stairs. I know that working out with you ladies has helped me stay fit and in shape over the past few years, and I'm looking forward to resuming my regular workout routine with you, Today is just the beginning, and I plan to start out slowly -- committing myself to 15-20 minutes of exercise 3 days a week for a start and hoping to build up from there. I hope you don't mind if I check in with you after each workout so that I can keep myself accountable. This relatively new Tabata workout, which I had watched but not tried before, seemed like the perfect pace and intensity level for my reintroduction to fitness. I will admit that I got a bit confused when the two of you got confused about what was coming next, but your "go with it" attitude regarding that confusion also made me smile.🙂 And smiles don't come as easily as usual for me these days, so I thank you for that ❤ I used 2-pound weights whenever April used weights. I found them manageable, but not "easy peasy" as they would have been at the time that I had worked myself up to using 3- and 5-pound dumbbells. I think I may stick with this workout for the rest of this week and then try something else next week. Any suggestions on what I should try next?

The Tabata workout is challenging and you did great using weights to do it too! Sorry about the confusion and appreciate your hanging in there as we did a laughable correction! @@yes2next Wednesday, Oct. 16. 2024: I took a rest from workouts yesterday but came back to this one this morning. Still using 2-pound weights, and somewhat less confused with the timing now that I'd already been through it once (I followed the changing colors and numbers on the timer to know when to do the moves and when to rest), but still enjoying your commentary on your own confusion.😊 Monday I did heel taps for the 3rd exercise; today I did toe taps instead -- hoping to eventually work up to kicks, but I suspect that will take a while.

I like this routine. My body feels like it worked out a lot longer than we actually did. I like repeating a move so many times as I can make sure of foot placement, etc. And thank you for being human. Its good to know I am not the only one who can make a mistake.

A very nice format! I made this one my own--as I always do-- by using weights and ramping up that double side punch segment. Not only do I feel great, but I feel as though I squeezed the most out of this exercise. Easy moves which I made sure to make them challenging, and coming away feeling as though I got the most out of this routine! Thank you both!...Anastasia

Great workout! I used 3kg weights, so only used them every second or third round, and only used 1 dumbell in the both arms to the side one but I feel like I've had a good workout at the end thank you, enjoy your day ❤

Good morning, Aiko and April! It felt so good to work out with you again this morning! After my little foray into the bed leg workout last week, I decided that this is the week I will begin to really focus on getting back in shape! After being mostly sedentary since early July, when my mother's illnesses and hospitalizations became intense, my weight is higher than it's been in about 25 or 26 years (when I was still working on losing postpartum weight) and about 30 pounds higher than my goal weight. I also feel more out of shape than I have felt in years and have been finding that I need to stop to rest from time to time when taking long walks or walking up stairs. I know that working out with you ladies has helped me stay fit and in shape over the past few years, and I'm looking forward to resuming my regular workout routine with you, Today is just the beginning, and I plan to start out slowly -- committing myself to 15-20 minutes of exercise 3 days a week for a start and hoping to build up from there. I hope you don't mind if I check in with you after each workout so that I can keep myself accountable.
This relatively new Tabata workout, which I had watched but not tried before, seemed like the perfect pace and intensity level for my reintroduction to fitness. I will admit that I got a bit confused when the two of you got confused about what was coming next, but your "go with it" attitude regarding that confusion also made me smile.🙂 And smiles don't come as easily as usual for me these days, so I thank you for that ❤ I used 2-pound weights whenever April used weights. I found them manageable, but not "easy peasy" as they would have been at the time that I had worked myself up to using 3- and 5-pound dumbbells. I think I may stick with this workout for the rest of this week and then try something else next week. Any suggestions on what I should try next?

Know the last few months have been difficult and exercising was easily neglected but your brief foray in doing the bed workout may have created a spark in your body of hmmm that felt pretty good! The Tabata workout is challenging and you did great using weights to do it too! Sorry about the confusion and appreciate your hanging in there as we did a laughable correction! Any of our workouts will get you back moving again! Just go at a pace that is comfortable for you! SLO MO is good! Rest often and be patient! Your journey back to a stronger YOU has begun! @@yes2next Wednesday, Oct. 16. 2024: I took a rest from workouts yesterday but came back to this one this morning. Still using 2-pound weights, and somewhat less confused with the timing now that I'd already been through it once (I followed the changing colors and numbers on the timer to know when to do the moves and when to rest), but still enjoying your commentary on your own confusion.😊 Monday I did heel taps for the 3rd exercise; today I did toe taps instead -- hoping to eventually work up to kicks, but I suspect that will take a while.

I like this routine. My body feels like it worked out a lot longer than we actually did. I like repeating a move so many times as I can make sure of foot placement, etc. And thank you for being human. Its good to know I am not the only one who can make a mistake.

A very nice format! I made this one my own--as I always do-- by using weights and ramping up that double side punch segment. Not only do I feel great, but I feel as though I squeezed the most

Great workout! I used 3kg weights, so only used them every second or third round, and only used 1 dumbell in the both arms to the side one but I feel like I've had a good workout at the end thank you, enjoy your day ❤
