What type of wood do you recommend that wont crack I live in Canada and can access logs of Maple, Ash and some other soft woods. As for oils, can I use linseed or Olive oil, maybe Hemp? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you for your comment!🙇🇯🇵 Maple was very easy to handle. I finish the wall thickness to 1 cm or less to prevent cracks. Store in a dark room out of the wind. I think there is no problem with the type of oil you like. I use old wood, so I use paint that cures in response to moisture.

Thank you for your comment! This was called RIKON's Light model in Japan! Accuracy is good, but difficult to use. I make it possible to power up and control the speed by motor and inverter control. When purchasing, we recommend a high-grade middle model!

旋盤をつかって物を作っていく様が面白く、興味深く拝見させてもらっています。ところで、5:58あたりでクラックが入っている様に見えますが、被覆剤？を掛けることで、補強されているのでしょうか。
