I've had a husky mower now for 3 years and it's been one of my best ever buys. With working during the week, getting time to cut a large lawn was always a hassle, weather watching, what to do with all the cuttings, lawn mower maintenance etc. The robot mower does the cutting now, and at the weekends I've now got the time to do things like aerating, scarifying and over seeding. So thanks to my robot, my garden looks so much better than it did before as it affords me the time to take proper care of it.

We got the Husqvarna 415x the lawn always looks great. I dethatched before laying the cable and over seeded the lawn, weeded etc, but the automower keeps it looking sharp day in and say out.

I have a robot mower, its pretty good. Sure, I've had some issues with the boundary wire failing, but it was only when it was offline for a few weeks that I remembered just how much I hate cutting with a normal electric mower, its a miserable job. I do still have to strim, and totally agree that you still need to aerate and scarify. But those are kinda the fun jobs. Mowing every 5-10 days is just dull, I'd rather being playing with the kids or something.
Peter if I had a large lawn, there is a good chance I would use a robot to cut the less important areas too. All the time they are becoming more and more popular. In Europe they are a lot more popular than here...
Hi Robbie, I got a robot in May this year, it has made a super transformation to my main garden 2500sm. I am scarifying the worst areas about 300sm at a time. I am also detaching every 2 months and about to apply a seaweed fertiliser for the winter. Most of the ideas came from your channel. Keep up the great videos 👍
@@Premier_lawns_official no but, they did say that you didn’t need to fertilise the lawn because of the mulching and that’s not correct. Lots of misinformation about them and they require a lot of input but a lot less than cutting the grass 😁
I went to a job many years ago where a guy had bought one from Europe to save money, it broke and then when he was away on holiday it fell off a wall..... He had long grass and was without a mower for 4-5 months...
What about for someone like me though, I have a tiny, and very badly kept lawn, the trouble for me is that I have quite a nasty grass allergy. It takes me 10 minutes to mow and strim my lawn, but that 10 minutes involves tissues having to be stuffed up my nose, to stop my nose from running all over my clothes, insanely itchy eyes, and gasping for air as my throat tightens up. I'm pretty good again half an hour or so after a shower, but I'll still have an itchy throat and mucus build up. I don't want to have to scarify my lawn because I think that would be just as bad for me as mowing it, but I'd rather suffer once a month, from cleaning the mower, than every week for most of the year. I wouldn't have much luck with hiring a gardener because with how small my garden is, it just wouldn't be worth their time.

A robot lawnmower is a huge advantage and a relief from having to mow lawns. Imagine working from Monday to Saturday and having to mow the lawn every week on Sunday, what if it rains on Sunday? Are you going out in the rain to mow with a conventional mower? On the other hand to the gardeners who charge loads of money for mowing every week or 2 times a month. The prices that our customers announce for mowing the lawn just damn well justify the lawnmower as an option for mowing the lawn. The robot does its job to mow 1mm of the grass every day and thus make "green fertilization". Conventional lawnmowers mow large grass, which must then be collected and disposed of somewhere.

Great as always! Do you find the milwaukee electric mower capable of light commercial use? Now it's 6 months on from your unboxing vid, I've looked in to it a fair bit as a backup and/or for smaller lawns where my 50kg mower is just not manoeuvrable enough
Sean we used it loads during the summer as it's the only mower I own that has a mulching plug. It was super quick blasting round the lawns with it. I used it on a few jobs that we mulched the hedge clippings too!
Confused, didn't u just use the big mowers to mow that lawn, and then said "look how much mess the robo mower is making", or did I understand incorrectly?
Funny thing. At the end I was looking for the strip that was not done due to the fact that there was a wire buried there. I could not see the difference between that strip and the rest that you had worked on. That suggests to me that what you did was a waste of time and money.
It is about robot lawn mowers. A customer of mine was sold on and they were told that if you use a robot you don't need to renovate the lawn. This video clearly shows that's not the case
Hi Robbie, with a Fescue lawn how often should you scarify? I watched your other video about not recommending Fescue only lawns. Alas I have inherited one. Normally I think you scarify twice, spring and autumn. Should I be doing it more often? Cheers
@@Premier_lawns_official thanks Robbie I'll give it a look. You think 2 times a year for scarifying is enough? Don't want to stress the lawn but it is a little spongy just now. 👍
Tom a lot of that will depend on your own circumstances. What are you cutting the lawn with, growth rates, how often you are cutting etc. Lots of things to consider. My own lawn is between 15 - 30 mm
As a robot lawn mower sales person, I 100% agree with the video! I'm really excited to get the new line up with RTK robots this year, they work without a inground cabel.
Do you know anything about the Heisenberg mowers? No Cable needed plus they have a few other things(that I probably wouldn’t use) like a modular blower and fertilizer applicator. They also have a side blade that lets them cut closer to objects.
I tried to buy the Luba 5000 the price before and after Amazon was silly. I passed.. I am Canadian and Mammotion has a Canadian distributor. Ive a big lawn with many raised beds, trees etc. I dont want a rhoomba tech.. it'll never work on my property. Any sugestions
Aerating, scarifying and feeding, -my arse. What a lot of work you give yourself for nothing! You don't need any of it and I expect a decent lawn robot would be bothered either . Grass grows thick and lush if you just cut it and let the clippings spray out the back of the mower, all over the lawn. The clippings soon disappear and they feed the lawn and the worms etc love the clippings and the birds love the worms. The best part is driving around on your ride-on mower. The secret is to buy a mower that will do your size of lawn within half a about hour so you don't get bored. Then you have plenty of time to sit back with a coffee and admire your handiwork.
When a person get's too much plastic surgery, they look like hell. When a yard gets too much obsessive compulsive attention, it too can look like hell.
I have had a very cheap ($500) robot lawn mower for 6-7 years. I did not do anything to my lawn. The fine cutted grass works as fertilizer. My lawn have never been looking this good. We had lots of moss, and I removed as much I could before starting up the mower. After that the moss disappeared. Have to mention I live in Norway, so the grass might differ some from your. I didn't know about the need to bury cables.... Interesting the lawn is raised (and notable the grass growing between the pavers and the tarmac. I think our American friends have the best solution, namely have your hard surface (concrete slab is popular stateside) at precisely the same level as the soil, enabling the lawnmower to slightly run over the hard surface and then the edges can be trimmed or disc cut (that's a scary garden attachment !) so that they are razor sharp.
@@Premier_lawns_official that's fantastic, and we're you right in saying you thought you'd need a second set of batteries?
@@seanwilson2034 yes defo need more batteries
@@Premier_lawns_official thanks, appreciate the info!
I bought a Landroid Robot mower this year and it is fantastic. My lawn looks amazing all the time now! Just sayin!
Some of the robots now are getting good 👍
Confused, didn't u just use the big mowers to mow that lawn, and then said "look how much mess the robo mower is making", or did I understand incorrectly?
Funny thing. At the end I was looking for the strip that was not done due to the fact that there was a wire buried there. I could not see the difference between that strip and the rest that you had worked on. That suggests to me that what you did was a waste of time and money.
We do this job every year and the client gets me back each time. He's happy and can see the benefit. Thanks for the feedback
great video, more on robo lawn mower pros and cons pls!
This video is more about lawn care than the robot mower
Yes
@@Premier_lawns_official I enjoyed the video, but the title suggests it's about the robot mower.
Cheers
Keith, you will probably want to introduce vertical cutting too. They make fantastic lawns if you put in the effort 👌
@@Premier_lawns_official thanks Robbie I'll give it a look. You think 2 times a year for scarifying is enough? Don't want to stress the lawn but it is a little spongy just now. 👍
came for lawn care, stayed for the awesome accent. love from America
Welcome to the channel 😁
So the problem is with the salesman, not the lawn mower itself? Why didn't you say so in the first place?
Thanks for the feedback 👍
Do they have this video in English?
English subtitles available
dwarf ryegrass and fescue lawn whats the best hight to keep it at thanks
Tom a lot of that will depend on your own circumstances. What are you cutting the lawn with, growth rates, how often you are cutting etc. Lots of things to consider.
My own lawn is between 15 - 30 mm
I could if I wanted and had the time (I don't) cut below that, right down to around 7mm
@@Premier_lawns_official its a new lawn and once or twice a week hand push mower like back in the old days lol, love the sound they make
As a robot lawn mower sales person, I 100% agree with the video! I'm really excited to get the new line up with RTK robots this year, they work without a inground cabel.
Once they hit, it's game changing times
Do you know anything about the Heisenberg mowers? No Cable needed plus they have a few other things(that I probably wouldn’t use) like a modular blower and fertilizer applicator. They also have a side blade that lets them cut closer to objects.
New epos Husqvarna nera . On order
@@scottburgle2169 Heisenberg? Uncertain.
If they did one that sorted out the mole hills i would get one.
👍
Great trick with the dumpy bag
Thanks for the feedback 🙂
When a person get's too much plastic surgery, they look like hell. When a yard gets too much obsessive compulsive attention, it too can look like hell.
Where the myth part 😂 not the first half of video 😂
So what was the big lie
The big lie, is companies telling people that if you use a robot your lawn won't get thatch or need to be renovated every again
Came for the robot, stayed for the accent.
Hahaha love it! You are welcome back here anytime haha!
Lucky Charms marshmallow hearts moon clover their magically delicious ! Part of a complete breakfast !
You got to put in the physical work into your lawn, there's no easy way out to the goal of perfection
I agree, you get out of it the effort you put in
Good old Dear John
I am lucky I have only been replaced once by a robot lawn mower, I guess soon we will be out of a job...lol
Another great video. Thanks Robbie 👍
Thanks 👍
smashed the 👎 button
Show what the lawn looks like in the place where the wire line runs without scarification.
I don't see any difference...
You can see it in action here: ruclips.net/video/VkENNHRhwds/видео.htmlsi=SAGdZCdzULP2hOJy
Great vid Robbie and nice shout out to wee Ben "Lawn Tips" down under, its great what he is doing in his plot. Personally I think there is nothing better than standing back looking at your own handy work on the lawn. Robot mower is not for me, personal choice. Plus we wouldnt see cracking content like this from you Lol. Keep up the great work.
Ben's channel is awesome, if I had a large lawn, I can certainly see the benefits of having a robot mower, though I know that's not for everyone. Thanks for the comments Fin :)
@@Premier_lawns_official Cheers Robbie. You and wee Ben have similar views and approaches to lawn care, laid back but with robust practice.
@@OorOaksey Thanks! Ben is like myself, professionally trained.
I try and keep it simple, light-hearted and probably a bit unconventional at times too.
Another I went to in spring was 4ft high and his robomower is still with the local repair shop now.... I have mowed, strimmed and treated the lawn all summer. It now finally has stripes. 🌱🌱🌱 😊
Nice work!
@@Premier_lawns_official many thanks Robbie. It's a great example. See you at Saltex on the Wednesday!
Good lad, I will be doing a video. It would be great to get you in it
@@Premier_lawns_official sure. Thanks 🌱🌱🌱
Mowers are available now that don't need wires and can mow in patterns.
I lie in bed at night thinking about dethatching the next day
😁🙈🙏
Is that good or bad?
I can't understand what you're saying...
Turn on the subtitles.
Something about Degs (dogs) and Cerrrvens (caravans).
Lol I am building my own using ardupilot, used gps, I launch it from my easy chair
Nice 👍🙂
I was wondering what this was about i could care less about my lawn. I'm still debating on either gallons of bleach so i didn't have to mow again or a robot mower one or the other.
Are you crazy? He is literally maintaining a lawn for a customer that already has a robot.
👍💚😁
Of course you have to also nurse your lawn when you have a robot... Should be obvious to everyone..
This is when somebody pretends talking about something they have no clue 🤷🏻♀️
Your talking about yourself I guess 😅 🙄
You are so wrong it's funny.🤦🏻
My robot mower is the best thing I have bought it cuts my lawn every day
👍👍
Boundary wires are a PAIN IN THE BUTT .
They certainly are
Robot lawn mowers lack the trim option thats more messy.
👍👍👍
Robot groundsman after that? Never!
It's coming 🙈 loads of businesses would love to replace groundsmen with robots
I thought this was in english...but sometimes I think its in english while other times Im scared I may have had a stroke.
There is a book called Mrs. Goose, Her Book and a very famous quote from it springs to mind here "It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it."
What language is this?
Danish
I had 2 at my last house and it was the best investment I made. Didn't mowe for 3 years.
Robot mowers are the future
Nice video!👍
Thanks DS 🙏
Holy smokes had to put on closed caption for this video.
English subtitles on all my videos haha
As an actual lawn care professional: Robot mowers are great and will give you a way better result over hand mowing.
Oh btw, if there is no thatch, why do you do a thatch away scarification? Scamming customers into paying you to do unnecessary work maybe?
Start selling and installing robomowers and stop fighting better technology. Adapt or fail. No scare mongering, lies or scams will keep you in business🙄
Hi John,
Oddly enough, we scarifed this last year. Guess what, the client has us booked again for this year
Why bother with selling installs, the market has already moved past that. Unless your a spark and can do the electrics
Installs are only needed the older type of robots, who is scamming who here?
We have many clients who have robot mowers, I agree it is the future but lawns still need to be maintained to be at their best.
Now, please, off you go, as no one likes a troll.
Try a Luba 2
What about the yuka ?
Great video, he has a tractor mower and a robot mower 🥴
Like I said, boys and their toys !
I cut my lawn maybe 4 times a year, and it's green as can be 🤷
that lawn looks like mine and I don't do anything extra beside mowing
Okay i have no idea what you are doing in this video??? you spend 7 min on a video where you film a guy doing something to a lawn, i got NOTHING out of this video but it has such a big promise.. And just to bring you up to speed there have bean non cable lawn movers for years now, they even got Robot vision and they just gets smarter and smarter. look at OPEN robot lawn mover, that is a opsensorce mover that started over 2 years ago not quite don but it is made by the people for the people 🙂
So you didn't watch the entire thing as it was all covered
Not everyone wants to watch a clickbaity reality show where you go through every bitty detail of your day. We just want to hear the answer to the TITLE OF THE DAMN VIDEO!
Oh 😳
Your video makes no sense given the title! Admittedly I couldn’t watch the whole thing…too much nonsense! Just click bait title!
I explained it at the end, had you bothered to watch it. Oh well
Is that still english?
No, Northern Irish
@@Premier_lawns_official LOL, okay. I am German and had a hard time understading parts of it.
Robots 4 mowing yards yes LETS GET AMERICAN PEOPLE ALL OUT OF SHAPE AND FOCUSED ON THE TV WHILE SNACKING ON EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT GOOD.
Yes, American people are currently SO fit and healthy from mowing their lawns.
Still daft enough to vote for the orange buffoon tho'.
Yes! Do à robot movie
No idea what that guy said
🙄
What if you hate lawn moving and you just need the stupid grass mowed? I don't care how it looks..
Yes that will work
I didn't know about the need to bury cables.... Great video again, as always. Thanks.
The cheaper models, you pin the cable down to the lawn and it's not buried at all.
A few models exist that don't use the cables. But I believe they require enclosed spaces and bump around like a Roomba.
There are new robots that work off a radar. You attach it to the side of your house or up a pole.
You don't need the cable for them
