Don't need it for hills so that part didn't do it for me. It was the heavy brush/sticks etc. part.

Probably the coolest thing you've covered. The fact it comes with the remote is a big deal, a quality remote alone can be pretty expensive. I love how it has an alternator, I think that's hilarious. Could probably use a larger gas tank to compensate; but, I bet that's why these things get so pricy: more features.
I think if you wanted to make this specific model perform even better, "wheel weights" might be a good option. I use them on my tractor and they make a huge difference driving on the hills. I bet throwing a bit more weight, like 100lbs, on the back of that thing it could get a bit more traction mowing big clumps on steep hills. But again. for the price, can't complain.
Great battle bot base, or triple B, as no one calls it.

@@SantaClaw yup. I've been looking for a tracked RC mower myself and find that alot of them don't even use motors with pumps. Hell even the honda gx390 is only rated for 20 degrees. I rent a brush mower from Billy Goat that has one, i use it on 20+ degrees all the time. But at least in that configuration there is a beeper for low oil level, or maybe low pressure, so you can fill/overfill and somewhat keep it going. Need to buy a tracked mower like this one, or the bigger brother, then put a dirt bike 2 stroke on it. lol.

    Really informative and fun video!
If the speed is the same in both forward and reverse, I think I'd just call the "back" the "front" and use it that way all the time. My yard is by no means a golf course (it's former pasture land), but it's still not rough enough to justify the expense of even this cheaper one. I just spent several hundred $$$ less than this on a new Husqvarna zero turn and it's low-slung enough to never give me jump-scares on the steeper parts of my yard. WAY better than the old Craftsman zero turn I replaced, which was definitely high center of gravity (rolled it over on me one time years ago).
All that said, I wish my yard was terrible enough to need this because watching this really brought back the kid in me.

This thing solves a very specific problem we have. We have a lagoon with very steep sides that need to be regularly mowed to keep it in good condition. I spent a couple years looking for a solution that didn't suck... Just this year I found a lawn care guy who does it with a weedeater, which sounds absolutely insane to me, because it's a large surface area on some very steep slopes. However, he doesn't charge much, so my ROI on this thing would be over a decade. If I lose the professional dude, I will consider this thing.

That 45° limit on ZTR mowers is cutting horizontal on a slope without it rolling over!! And that depends, mostly on the width of the mower and the hight of the mower, as well as the amount of traction. The wider the tracks and the heavier the mower also change the equation some!

I have to say this is probably one of my favorite videos!!! That looks like it is as fun as it is functional. I think that some of the reason it was sliding might be because of the vibrations from the engine and mower blade. It looked a few times like it vibrates quite a bit. Still a cool machine and video.

The 45° is probably suggested because of the oil in the engine… you aren’t suppose to tip an engine to the carb side too much or it can suck oil through the crankcase breather

@@Beardman56 doesn't matter! You have to be there operating and supervising it like your cutting the lawn yourself! I will take the cheaper way! Minus the buying/maintenance/repairing expenses!! Not to mention, you can get a kick ass regular mower for many times less! Overpriced, trying toake a fortune! No they should make them reasonable and I'm sure many more would buy, but not at that price!

When you go up a hill at an angle, you lower the effective angle of attack. Still a very impressive little tool, but thats why it can so easily go up steeper hills at an angle

  • @ericoppel5698
    @ericoppel5698 8 месяцев назад +1

    Be careful!
If it's a 4 stroke engine and you drive it on too steep an angle, it may not get proper oil circulation and the engine could seize.
It happened to me years ago when mowing my own place with a mower that had a Briggs & Stratton engine.

The motor in the lawnmower is prescribed up to a maximum of 45 degrees because later there is no longer proper lubrication. This is the reason why it is prescribed up to 45 degrees

  • @aliassabertooth5990

It is 300lbs , to reduce flip overs the center of gravity is in the rear - it needs to driven backwards with the blade in the highest position over steps - and driven backwards up hills. When running down hills of 50 degrees do not stop quickly as the momentum of rear will cause it to flip down hill. Distance on charge of battery when belt breaks or engine stalls is about 500ft (152Meters). Not very fast. 2 speeds - fast speed is about 3ft/second (1Meter/second). Since it has no ejection port it stalls in heavy TALL grass. Built like a Senior project in college... cheap. Maintenance is a bear as it sucks all the dust into the electronics box. Needs a snorkel added for the aitr filter.
Prepare to have it vibrate itself apart - especially as blades get damaged in rough fields. locktite is your friend. Buy some extra fuses.
DO not get the 196 engine! - 224cc is still underpowered. I am upgrading to 10HP, rebuilding the electronics and gear boxes. Already had one alternator die and a belt doe on the other unit.
In the states these can be found at auctions for about 1800$ I picked up two to develop some attachments. Cheers

one more item - it has two speeds - shift to the low speed and no angle required.
