Thanks for watching and all the great comments, i will get back to everyone over the weekend 👍 Watch the initial hedge renovation here: ruclips.net/video/QBE7HBW1y8A/видео.html
It really isnt by eye, thats the whole point of the orange guard/flat base to keep the blade flat from the previous cut. It would definitely be harder if he didnt have that, but its not by eye once you get the start going, just need to keep the trimmer flat
I feel ya, shit I stay on here so much lately I get all kinds of random stuff! It’s like the algorithm is like who the hell is this guy he likes way too many things, what else do we show him😂
I have just found your videos. This is the most perfect hedge cutting I have ever seen. Wow! Beautiful. So glad I came across this one. My hedges were so bad and difficult to get through. You make it look easy but I know it's hard work. Well done.. 🤗👍
I don't think anybody could cut that edge in the beautiful garden I think you have to be credibly skilled with that hedge trimmer to keep it straight and level I've seen people can't Hedges but this man is brilliant
Great job man! As a 20 something year landscape maintenance technician (gardener) I love these type of hedges. Easy height, level ground, grass cleanup and all square. Gets tough when it's really tall, odd round shaped, on a slope and over gorilla hair!
At last, I've found someone on utube that can cut hedges, maybe you should think about doing some tutorials at a cost so others can learn. I could watch you all day, even your tidy up was cleanly done. Love it
It takes a person with such passion and perfection to do this. It looked simple but when you actually look at how it's done believe you me it is a whole lot different. Thank you for sharing a wonderful video and hope to see much more. ❤❤❤
It’s so nice to watch a craft person at work that trusts their own judgement ( without using special gizmos to get everything perfectly square etc)…- Nice work and well done.
I grew up with a small hedge in front of my suburban home. It was always fun to be able to use the corded hedge trimmers on that. For a hedge the size of the one in this video, I think I'd have to use a laser level to make sure it was straight!
My dad wanted a flat cut on our front yard hedge 15ft (3 meter) long, about three and a half feet (one meter) high. He drove two pieces of rebar in about one foot from each end and just below the hedge level. Then he drilled holes in a piece of pipe that would fit in over the rebar. He would take the electric trimmer and just set it on the pipe and run it back and forth, level cut.
My goodness, look how clean the edges are! Would you be able to share some tips? My hedge is always curvy and lumpy both on top and the side when I trim them with my battery double blade trimmer… I have 2 months experience as an amateur gardener haha! Thanks for showing us your great work
never seen an orange hedge trimmer like that before. man what skills you have, i would of had it up & down wide, thin. lol you are one more skilled man.❤❤❤❤❤
The whole time you were using the gas one I thought you should be using a battery powered one. I was really happy when you pulled out the battery powered one so you could do 1/2 the work in twice the amount of time
@@RJLgardens echo has a pretty big battery set up for blowers at this time. I imagine at some point to adapt that battery pack for other equipment as well especially as technology improves. Got to say man, you’re really talented of what you do. If I lived in England you definitely be my gardener
Hello from sunny California Boy you have a great eye for trimming hedges, I did such a bad job on our my wife ask me to take it out and she planted flowers. Not everyone can do what you do. Thx for great videos
Great job. I'm over 19 years trading in this same work and I'm renowned for my attention to detail as you clearly are. Pride in your work....as you say, no point doing it otherwise. But i never had a one sided trimmer though been tempted often. I can see the benefit of how it enhances the job and sweeps cuttings much better of the surface. I'm gonna get one now! Why did you use the other blue one, just out of interest? Cheers
Single siders are very handy for certain hedges, I wasnt get a straight enough line with the single so used the double to be more accurate, plus needed to cut against the comb of the hedge in places. Cheers
cheers, i was finding i wasnt getting a straight line with the single sider as you cant really see the line when cutting, I was trying to cut against the comb of the hedge in places as well 👍

Cutting by eye now that is a skill. Fabulous job, great to see someone who takes such pride in their work.

I love wild gardens too but there's something so alluring about the perfection of formal gardens.
Both nice, but i definitely prefer formal gardens, more work for me 😅
I love doing proper hedge cuts like this, gives you a sense of artistic achievement and you’ve had a workout as well.
Great job satisfaction on these ones 👍
I can't tell if I'm getting recommended this because I'm getting older now or if this is just the popular 😂

@@RJLgardens maybe when it's always the same, but here the hedge was cut down hard, idk when there is something interesting to see
Nice to see I'm not the only UK Gardner that uses single sided trimmers
Do you ever use a tarp on the ground to catch the trimmings? Seems clean up would be easier…
Love my single siders, dont know why more people dont use them.

A neighbor in Midland, Texas had a phallic shrub she kept precisely trimmed to shape as it grew and grew and grew…
Great job, personally i find it easier to do the sides first and then the top.
Its really hard getting the sides straight when you have all the top growth still on, as you cant see the proper line for the hedge. 👍
So therapeutic for my OCD! 😊
Fabulous job. It looked as though you used more than one hedge trimmer - if so I would love to know why. Thanks
Thanks, ive answered that in a few other comments, to save me explaining 😅

Where'd you get them self supporting blue bulk bags from mate? That hedge has come back lovely from its hard cutback...
Certainly a lot healthier now. You can get them on Am or Eb. just search for 300L waste bags.
Ive always wondered why no one has made a trimmer with a bubble leveler on it to help keep it straight?
Beautifully done!
Thank you! Cheers!
