Hugo, your comment is so correct. In America, the culture is to de-emphasize a person’s name, to try to reduce a name to a single syllable. But i really like your view point, maybe the old world view point, of savoring the pronunciation of a name. One can say, by paying attention to a name, by taking your time to pronounce it correctly, you also give respect to that person. It's a very nice and pleasant way.

Great content! If you get an Orient you are good. I have the Orient since 5 years ago, looks and works perfectly. There was some talk about movements, but this one works perfectly. Spending ten times as much to get some other kind of movement makes no sense at all. The only possible negative is that it would be slightly too big on a less than average wrist. Then you really cannot wear it. Still, the fact that so many more expensive watches look gaudy, and unbalanced, makes the Orient better than almost any watch regardless of price. I gave one to my brother who loves it. I also got a gold colored thinner smaller version for dressing up.

Anordain produces some exceptional watches, with dial that feel almost 3-dimentional. Great choice. As someone who loves Seiko Presage watches, I wanted to say that the Presage Cocktail watches start at the low end of the Presage series, with prices going well north of there. I seriously desire a Presage Sharp-Edged watch, which has a dial that has a design based on a 1000 year old textile design of hemp leaves. The design reflects light from many directions, producing a mesmerizing play of light across the dial. I particularly like the white, the emerald green, and the blue dials (they also offer a beautiful burgundy red, a brown, and a black dial as well). The watches takes quite a few design and finish details from Grand Seiko. Prices runs from MSRP $1000 - $1400 USD. But this is not the end of the Presage line. They also offer some that have very traditional Japanese enamels and another that has a dial made of Arita porcelain (spectacular dress watch). They also offer several with the Grand Seiko Spring Drive movement. The Presage series tops out about $4500 USD, so slightly extend beyond the lower price quartz Grand Seikos.

I also have a preference for smaller watches. That's the most disappointing thing I find with modern pieces, it is so incredibly difficult to find something in the classic 36mm size. To me, smaller watches are more elegant.

*Hugo* - off topic - You need to watch the movie "The Outfit (2022)". It is about a tailor (calls himself a cutter not a tailor), who makes suits for gangsters in Chicago but doesn't want to get involved. Trouble comes to him, so there is intrigue involved, with twists & turns.

To be precise, his surname in Italian should be pronounced Baldassàrre, with the tonic accent on the last syllable.
Fun fuct: Baldassarre is also the name of one of the 3 biblical magi in Italian, so a really beautiful surname indeed.

great MR. JACOME you and teddy looked great and your trying the watches in your hand gave us a good example of how it looks on bespoke suits quite great choices especially dress watches. Please can you even mension your wrist dimension it is easy to get an idea as how it will look on my or others wrists. Why don't you look in some Indian brands like Titan ,Fastrack. Especially nebula series of titan offering 18 karat gold watches at affordable prices and other dress watches in the same. I hope you would consider my suggestion. Thank you so much for making such great videos you helped me deepen my interest and knowledge about the sartorial world great job continue doing it.

Orient Bambino - the legendary watch with basic problem. Why 40mm? A watch of that kind should be 36mm, 37mm and at max 38mm.

Maybe I am going to commit a sartorial crime but I am only 23. What do you all think about smart watches? As a younger person I think it is something more of these brands that you have talked about should get into and has lots of potential.

Dear Bailey, Swatch watches are fun and of decent quality (for this type of casual / sport watch). Of course they didn't correspond to our selection (mechanical dress watches) but honestly I have nothing against Swatch for casual settings. Cheers, Hugo

I do not know this channel, nor the French gentleman hosting the show, however, he's got impeccable taste. Of all the watches there, for pure 'Dress' function, the two Japanese watches were standouts, personality with subtly enough for a true dress piece, and that beautiful AnOrdain (the Plum is MY favourite of their dials too), is just so....refined....in it's beauty, that even if one would imagine that a Plum dial might be a little too ....'loud' for a dress watch, that one just spot on.... it works, even for a dress watch, in ways someone else, even Seiko with some of their louder Cocktail Time dials, could not pull off.
That the host could instantly be drawn to the AnOrdain, despite it perhaps not being traditional, and in a colour many dress watches could not manage to pull off without becoming too loud to remain so, could immediately feel the 'Japanese Magic' of the Seiko Cocktail, knew and appreciated how amazing the Bambino was, make it evident this gentleman knows his stuff.... well having Teddy on his show said that already, but the aforementioned just confirmed it.
Those were the three standouts, and he knew it right off.
I am far from a Satorial kind of man, but I appreciate people who have both passion, and knowledge, as well as natural feel for their subjects, and this fellow does, so I think I am going to have to subscribe to this channel.
