When people today reference Louis Breguet as the inventor of the tourbillon they fail to give due credit to John Arnold, who was the first to develop the concept of a tourbillon, and whose initial work on the mechanism was curtailed by his death. However, Arnold passed his work to Breguet, who personally acknowledged Arnold’s contribution to the invention of the tourbillon by placing his first tourbillon not into one of his own watches, but into one of John Arnold’s early pocket chronometers, Arnold No. 11, which he presented to John Arnold’s son, having also had it engraved with the following inscription:
“The first Tourbillon timekeeper by Breguet incorporated into one of the first works of Arnold. Breguet's homage to the revered memory of Arnold, given to his son AD 1808."

Gentlemen. You need to consider interviewing a person like myself, who is an electrical engineer by degree, and a businessman by vocation. With the focus on how a person like myself would become a self taught horologist, focussing on vintage pocket watches. As well, you’ll get the perspective of someone that is older than 40 years old, however, acts more like a 25-year-old according to my wife. And just as you, gentlemen, are you showing, I do have a watch collection that does include watches such as Hamilton and Elgin; from 60 years ago. For your consideration.

What a great talk. I freaked out a bit when I realized that I had gotten 5 of the first 6 watches in the same exact order😂 but hey...can't wait to work my way up to the end of the collection 😊
