With everything in stores now costing a little over the $1 price, even for just a bottle of water, back then you could get a cup of water for free, at your kitchen sink, the garden hose, other friends houses, at stores though, they hire workers who work for money in order to not make the universe seem to be dead on reliability, dependencies, peoples dreams to still not be taken out for Ai to get lower paying jobs is the futures investment, a lot of companies realize nowadays that optimizing scripts on machines can help to loosen and control the machines better, taking away their sometimes long times seeming to at times getting confused when making something with ease technology, as its upgrading after technology is updated practices.
We know (we all do) that with Ai now playing its role within our universe now that this can be expected to get much bigger, loosening up jobs with technology that’d newly perfected to give work places better control which may also help them upgrade jt one day to make their stores 1 day now another work station mankind obsolete for is whats among us.
If more trees and coal are mined but by technology, mankind would be cutting down 1 tree with their hands while a robot would cut down 5+ in less time, so we nave a future ahead of is thats thickening, becoming wider, with more money being printed by technology, we can expect there to be more minimum wage increases to work places that used to employee a kid for part time jobs being a sweeper for 1$ an hour in the mid 1900’s
“Inflation” describes my entire comment by itself, look it up by both the images, videos, you’ll know what it means, to keep going, means we’ll keep evolving, migrating, shifting and changing!

This just seems like a gimmick to raise their prices on a permanent basis. If enough people patron Wendy's during the slow periods (to save money), then wouldn't this create a high traffic, busy period that would still enforce the increase prices?

    • @kamX-rz4uy
      @kamX-rz4uy 6 месяцев назад +5

From a standpoint of moving some customers away from busy periods to slow periods, that makes good business sense. Even out the day and you don't have to have as many staff on hand to satisfy specific times, improves speed of service in those busy periods, and less employee stress. That said, most people eat when they can and for most people that's around 11-1 and 5-6 pm. If they want to raise prices at lunch, office workers will go elsewhere. At dinner time families will go elsewhere.

Would surge pricing provide actual mobile service, instead of having customers wait half an hour in their car, and 10 minutes at a register hoping they could receive their order? I swear, there’s hardly anyone working there. They pay like one or two people to do everything. I have never had to wait on another customer at any Wendy’s this century, and yet it still takes forever and the orders wrong. Just shut down the dining area and the app, and be drive thru only. And prices based on whatever their app AI can figure out about you on your phone….
So you may pay two dollars for something while somebody even if they have a larger family, but a higher income pays three times as much.
I bet it also taken a new account all kinds of other things that are huge violations of civil discrimination laws….
The reason why we go somewhere because we know we’re gonna pay when we get there and it’s reasonable and it doesn’t change .
If the price is going to change like the stock market, based on surges, and then my personal spending habits/income/children …. All information you got from me in a way that I don’t think should be gotten because it’s my private info on my phone….
Just because I download your app or go through your drive-through, does that mean you have the right to gather any information about me or my family or my spending habits.
That is the AI they’re wanting to implement and it is creepy .
If we want this to stop, we have to boycott this now heavily just like Bud Light and show them. We are done dealing with this crap.
People are people, and everyone is valuable, and everyone should get to pay the same price and you set your prices for all .
If I want to Harris Teeter or very expensive grocery grocery store prices at Walmart, I would go to the expensive grocery store.
I go to Walmart because I know what the prices are going to be and it’s going to be reasonable …. If I get there and you charge me more it’s no difference if I go to the mom-and-pop grocery store guess where I’m going the mom and Pop grocery store because they’ll have better products there for the higher price.
If these companies think that this AI individual pricing is going to work for them it’s actually going to shoot them in the foot.

Amerians can wrap their heads around 'dynamic pricing' when there is a limited, finite number that can be sold, such as an airline seat or a concert. There are only so many seats on a plane, at a concert, etc.. We hate it, but the laws of physics help us understand the concept. Fast food places are known to serve until they close, not until they run out of food. So, introducing dynamic pricing in this category comes across as only one way - a cash grab. Even if they retract this cruel & ridiculous business plan, I can't see Wendy's coming back from this tbh. Not anytime soon, at least.

I have never eaten at Wendy's anyway. After parents saw that I seem to have a fatty liver, they suddenly all kinds of restrictions on what food is served in my home that is more extreme that what any doctor prescribed. If I try to find a super healthy alternative, my family will say that it costs too much. If I try to eat outside at a college event, my mother will act uncomfortable. I can be admonished just because I ate something that they do not feel comfortable with. I once took home some bagels from a college event and my mother threw them unexpectedly in the garbage.

Wendys has been shooting themselves in the Foot since 2010. It all Started when They booted Wendy Thomas herself off the Chairboard and when the Chair sold the Company to ConAgra Foods away from P&G(Procter and Gamble had been Wendys' Parent Company since 1989).

Game theory in play here. If Wendy's is the only one that does it, it will likely fail & hurt Wendy's sales, as they will likely lose some customers to other fast food restaurants. But other fast food restaurants may pick up some of the lost business from Wendys. If all fast food restaurants collude to all do it in unison, then there will less likely that this surge pricing will hurt Wendy's, and an increase chance that it will be successful for fast food industry to increase revenue for all.

I doubt you will see lower prices during slow periods, that will probably be the regular pricing with premium pricing added during peak periods. Easier to adjust should the time frames change as people try to avoid the premium time pricing.
