      I hate whenever people come for the Latino community, stay in your lane! The common ground between Latinos is our culture, whether you are Mexican, Peruvian, Dominican. The language we speak, the music we dance to, the traditions we are raised with. I happen to be of Mexican decent. And that does make me Latino, but I feel like a lot of people try to disregard Latinos as a whole because they say it’s not a “racial identity” it absolutely is!! I can’t hide the fact that I’m Latino to a white person or black or middle eastern. So don’t speak on a community you’re not from. As far as the racism goes there is racism everywhere, including towards Latinos and Afro Latinos. We are making progress and have a long way to go

    Let me tell you something... being Black is something I’ll never have the energy of not liking...I mean we have the swag , we have the rhythm, we have the heart , we have the soul , we have the intellect ,... we have all the components of what I feel it truly means to be an honorary human being... when it comes to not only our culture but even other communities... we have always found a way to support and lift up others outside of ourselves ! And being in a country that has made us feel like we’re less than or that we can’t make it above what they think of us... trust me we’re making it and we gon keep living , loving , dancing and being us !!! We have contributed to so much of the culture that there’s nothing going rn that somebody of another race isn’t doing and I feel we have actually set up to be what it means to be a melting pot in this society ! Black is Bold , Black is Resilient , Black is Strong , Black is Beautiful... Black is EVERYTHING !!! We are multi-faceted ! We have made our own definition both as a culture and as individuals what it means to be unapologetically black !!!

Asians are just quiet about it, culturally they are taught to brush it off and don't make a fuss. I know that in my Latino culture it is very similar. My mom has been discriminated against at her work by white and black coworkers, and she's had to stay quiet about it because she doesn't think anyone would take her seriously. They've also made fun of her accent before, that's just a taste of what she's experienced. I am shocked the show hasn't talked more about the Asian discrimination. @@ifyouwantoreplyjustclickth5063 I kind of understand what you mean by the first part, but you have to remember that there are 'nerdy' black guys who are into black girls or even 'nerdy' white guys who are into black girls. I know the media makes you think otherwise, but you have to look past the stereotypes and you'll see that not every guy is like that and not every 'good' guy dates white women exclusively. I also think you have to be confident in yourself first before you attract other people (ignore this part if you're already confident in yourself).
      As for your hair, first of all, what's wrong with short hair? Not everyone has to have long hair and a short afro is beautiful as hell. Having said that, black hair does grow but you can't see that because of either shrinkage or breakage. If it's the latter you really have to be careful with your hair. I learned that my hair, for example, is fine and thin and that means that I literally have to treat my hair like a baby. I can't do box braids, finger detangle, touch my hair more than once a week, wear hats or otherwise it will break. But you really don't have to do much to retain length. I know RUclips sometimes makes you believe otherwise. Try this (if you haven't already): after you wash your hair, moisturize (with a lot of water, conditioner and oil), detangle with a wide tooth comb (not with your fingers) and twist your hair, and then don't touch it until it's wash day again after two weeks. Don't even feel your hair with your hands. Make sure you don't wear hats or anything like that. And when you're detangling really take your time, if you hear your hair breaking or see little pieces coming off, you know you're being way too ruff. It's only once every two weeks so really, really take your time. The key is leaving it alone as much as possible and keeping it simple. I really wish I could do it for you, but I can't. So I hope this at least helped you out a bit/motivated you/motivated you to go to someone who can handle 4c hair!

    • @thedestroyer9024
      @thedestroyer9024 3 года назад +1

      And if that doesn't work for you, you can try to grow your hair in silk presses. Silk press your hair every two months and apply a bit of oil in between and see if that works better for you! You have to be careful with this, though, because there's a risk of getting heat damage, and you have to be really careful when blowdrying/straightening because you don't want to break off your hair!

    i do feel like jeannie and adrienne often have to comment on the black experience more than speaking about their own cultures. i feel like that adrienne and jeannie will start to comment about race relationships in general and that loni will then bring it back to black injustice and slavery and her experience in the projects. sorry to be so raw! like just stop that! meanwhile universal citizen garcelle is talking about her acting experience in the biz and her haitian experience as a black woman. she hangs with all these white women on RHOBH and is living her life. she talks about the black experience as well, but also talks about her sons, life in general, her acting.

The sad part is not all of us are loving and kind to one another, that we sometimes choose to put down another race for etc, reasons. The first thing we see in each other is color, instead of character or the heart. So for me, this question is a bit on the ignorant side, but I understand what the ladies are talking about as well.

    There is no culture that is better than an other. They are all equally interesting and worthy. So if I could reborn , I wish I would in another culture and that no matter what the culture is.
    I don't like pepole talking about how their culture is better in something than an other when all they ever knew was their own. I wish people would stop being so self-centered or culture-centered and open their eyes to the beauty of others.

Where I live, I am often the only Black person, and before the pandemic, I would go to events alone and be the only one there and felt fine, although I experienced subtle racist energy from a few present. I don't necessarily feel unsafe. But I feel odd, lol. Whereas white folks have the privilege of rarely being the few in a group. And a few have told me they would feel uncomfortable if they were the only white person in a group of Black people. That is a kind of racist, prejudice, profiling stuff I don't like. That is not a normal feeling to have.
