  • Enjoy this poppy flower stained glass suncatcher tutorial. I would classify this tutorial as Intermediate/Advanced. A lot of the squiggly cuts can be a little difficult, especially depending on the glass you choose. If you have a saw, those cuts will be much less time consuming (although a saw is not necessary).
If you'd like to make this piece yourself, I have the pattern available for purchase as a hobby license or as a commercial license:

Everything done with almost surgical precision, as always. You set the bar high - I hope I can get there too! 😁👍

I just started stained glass about 5 or 6 weeks ago and cutting curves is still so tricky for me. I appreciate you showing how sometimes you need multiple cuts to get some of those wavy curves. I was getting so discouraged seeing videos on people cut curves in one go. Thanks again! Ive learned so much from watching your videos. Your beautiful work is always inspiring me to keep trying.

@@elisafernandez2314 thank you so much, I'm glad my videos have been helpful. You can also try tapping your curves - I never show that cause I don't really like that method, but a lot of people have great success with it.

"This may be a bad idea.." while breaking glass is something I say to myself very often, I'm a risk taker in my cutting 😂

Hi again Samantha! I'm wondering if there is a way to support your channel, or buy you a coffee somehow. I was just thinking today that it's been about a year since I started making stained glass art, and that your videos have been such an invaluable resource in my learning journey. I'm also really grateful for how generous you've been in answering the many (many!) questions I've had (I think I've asked you at least one question a month since I started? 😋). You've been very patient! Anyway, I just wanted to thank you in some way 💛

Wow, I love this one, Samantha. I think it's my favourite piece of yours! I really like your red poppy too, but the pinks are just so pretty...it's magical. And thank you for another video! It was great to see bendable zinc in action (I assumed it would be harder to bend but it looks super easy), and great tip about putting patches on first. I noticed your nippers worked much better at cutting zinc than mine do; may I ask what brand they are? Thanks again for sharing and awesome work :)

@@MaisieStirfry aww thank you! Yes, bendable zinc is not difficult to bend, but it does get a little difficult at the ends, which is why I bend it around my piece first, then cut where I couldn't get it to bend. The wire cutters are "master force," I just found them at my local hardware store.

@@Practice_Kindness-1st I struggled with mini grozers at first too - I think I was squeezing too hard and just crushing the glass at first.
I use bendable zinc allll the time, you should definitely try it out!
