- "Sukuna Kaisen" has apparently been in effect for a while and with fans have been split on Sukuna's portrayal these last few chapters its undeniable that the King of Curses has been extremely dominant as of late, in this video I'll be discussing his recent performance in order to determine if Sukuna has become too strong for Jujutsu Kaisen.

He was just amazed by how the human body can reach that level and she was the opposite of him. He as the most CE and she has zero. He has cursed technique and she has none. Not because she was stronger than any person he fought but because she contradicts jujutsu.

Gege needs to stop having Sukuna glazing every character on screen. Its just gotten annoying up to this point.

The problem is Uraume basically told us that everyone's efforts up to this point mean nothing because he is not trying, him slowly getting weaker and losing because of it gives meaning to Gojo, Yuta and Yuji, we all know he would crush them, you can't tell us over and over that he's getting weaker because of the effort of the cast but then turn around and tell us nothing they've done matters. That is the frustration, Sukuna should be incredibly difficult to beat.
Sukuna has 2x the CE of yuta aka Mr. Boundless CE so people gotta understand that sukuna being low on CE is like a billionaire becoming a millionaire, sure they lost a lot of money but they're still relatively ok

the truth is, the gap between gojo and everyone was too wide. once sukuna proved to be stronger, it is extremely hard to write a way to beat that. the yuta and yuji tag team was perfect but life happens loool. tbh if gojo won the sukuna fight and everyone jumped him without his domain, the same thing would happen. gojo would probably black flash maki for reminding him of toji loool.

The thing is that with Sukuna's powers not completely revealed yet.. whatever crazy shit he does is considered/seen as an asspull. If gojo does it, it wouldn't be considered as an asspull because we already know what all stuff he can do. I am not a Sukuna and Gojo glazer by any means.. but I'm just pointing out another way to look at the responses of the community.
Same thing could've been said with Kenny and his gravity technique. If he used it on Choso instead of showing as if he conveniently had it against Yuki, it wouldn't have bugged a lot of fans.

Yeah and you can say the same thing about Gojo, it can be considered an asspull to change the rules of his domain. Or an asspull when combined blue and red as separate entities. Everything that Sukuna has done is in the realm of possibility
Im on team sukuna but this view point is valid but imma let gege cook cuz when you re read mangas, especially fights, this fight might end up being a 30 min read in the end, its just that ppl rnt trying to consider that rn. Wen its done the “sukuna glaze” wont seem so extra
The thing is so far Sukuna never did something that we didn't know. He never did an asspull technique that come out from the heian era without any explanation.
While I agree with a lot of the points here, the frustration many are experiencing with this is mainly a problem of executon rather than concept. Have characters had moments of sudden evolution that may be repeated here to clutch a win? Yeah of course. Is there a way to execute that which would actually be both reasonable and satisfying? Every week it just feels less and less likely that there is. Hell, even some of those moments in the past weren't either of those things; I adore Maki but the way she had her second awakening was incredibly random, unearned and unsatisfying even if I love the sight and buffs she gained from it. You can't exactly say you disagree with people about there needing to be a deus ex machina or unsatisfying asspull to end this fight with a win by saying "well we've had those in the past so it wouldn't be the first time." It just kinda makes it feel MORE likely to happen.
That, and even if Sukuna is holding back, having a character straight up say it after we've been throwing everything at him and seeming to have him on the ropes at points is just corny. Him not using all his tools is fine (we literally already knew it to be the case as well seeing as we haven't seen the fire arrow as Kusakabe pointed out), but making a point to have a character say "and he isn't even going all out! 🤓" is just annoying and too corny to be cool in this scenario LMAO why did Gege think that would go over well
How else is Gege supposed to depict the King of Curses that came from the best era of jujutsu sorcery?

Ima be real Gojo's hype made sense, he was in a time period where no one was close to him, his actual existence is considered different and even linked to fate in the society.
Sukuna's hype is being given to us in the same time period where Gojo existed, it comes off fake and misplaced. A Heian Arc is where that hype should be, where the other sorcerers around are also on a greater level thus elevating that hype. Kashimo's remarks about Sukuna's curse energy manipulation were good yet not on Gojo's level, why put that in a time period where no one even has curse energy control comparable to either and please don't say Higrumua lmao. Sukuna's domain as a divine technique is said by narrator, I think if it came from a Heian era sorcerer in a Heian Arc it would've been so much cooler. Maybe Gege could've shown us what got Sukuna his King of Curses title, not just tell us.
You look at the greats in manga like Naruto, Bleach or Op they hype their top dogs and give us flashbacks, Madara and Hashirama hype? We saw that, we saw what set them apart from other ninjas. Minato hype? We saw Minato fight Nine tails and Obito, saw him almost kill Bee and Ay. White Beard? we see him and Gol fight .
Gege wants to gas him up? Show us him fighting at his strongest, against others worth it, against others deemed the strongest era, not a bunch of first grades and one special grade. He's tryna flex how good Sukuna is against sorcerers with little training in their life. Maki? Been put down since a kid and neglected by her clan. Yuta? this is first year really doing anything after 6 months of training lmao. Yuji.... 7 months. Ino? Kusakabe? Random first grades with nothing to show. Higuruma? less than two months.
Look at Aizen and Madara, they fought real niggas, really built for battle and trained their life, knew what it was going into it and showed the difference in power and skill. We just aren't seeing that here, like at all. Its been non-stop: say this character impressed Sukuna, then get rid of them. Harm Sukuna more, and still show he's able to fight them. Nerf Sukuna here, then praise him more for his jujutsu skill. All we needed for Aizen was Gin talking about how strong he was for hype and then Aizen showed it against strong characters. Tsundade told us Madara's very name was power and then we saw what Madara meant. You say King of Curses and you bring up him fighting Gojo and then having to contextualize the battle as "well he actually didn't just beat Gojo all by himself, he had Mahoraga help out a lot" its just not the same and its why Sukuna's aura and character suffer from not having a Heian Arc to give us all that hype.
Imagine we got shown younger Sukuna facing a powerful Heian era sorcerer and Sukuna actually struggles due to the guy being strong and having a good ct like Gojo but he ends up winning through his first barrier-less domain? We're missing out on big moments of Sukuna's hype, the stuff that made him what he is and it just doesn't feel like we're reading about the strongest, just Gege's favorite.

I confused wouldn't sukuna killing the most hyped dude in the series be the best way to "hype" Or show sukuna is the greatest. From day 1 gojo is always presented to be over sukuna even going as far as saying "I would beat him if he ate all his fingers" so the fact that his lost it really shows us and the characters that beating sukuna is not a normal task and will take everything (things that they don't even know) to beat him.
No one character is like sukuna the fact that since the beginning everytime we saw or heard sukuna we felt the aura and seen him just beat on guys at his weakest, he's been getting hyped from the very start and it slowly crept up and he currently earned his title I don't see how his aura has been lackluster. Comparing him to madara or hashirama doesn't make sense, madara is a human who had a rival and they grew up getting stronger. Sukuna isn't like that he was the strongest for all his life.
A heian arc would be cool but I don't see how that make sukuna more hype we already know he's the strongest ever and the strongest in that period so what are we gonna see? People jumping him and him surviving there not much life experience that can be looked into sukuna because that's just not who sukuna is, imo.
Fr we need that heian era arc if the story ends without that arc then gege dropped the ball imo i love jjk but lately i haven't enjoyed it as much as i used to
@@Spicymeatballs7774 the focus of the story was never about the golden era. It's about the current era. Gege doing a flashback arc of an era that is not the focused of the story would narratively not make sense.
You don't need to visually see a character in action to believe the hype of a character. This is out of the medium but I'll use John Wick as an example. Dude is a retired assassin that gets back in the line of work when people mess with his life. The entire film is people giving examples and statements about how masterful John Wick was when he was in his prime, no flashbacks necessary and it worked. It's the same with Sukuna, we don't need a whole arc to show us why. Did we need a whole Gojo or Kenjaku arc to see how dangerous they are? No, we had people in the current era providing examples and statements that cater to how strong they are. Not everything needs to be spoonfed.
tbh I've been liking the theme of the 'absolute power slowly worn down by the collective'. so far it's all been believable.

Ok the only way I can see this being fine for the story is if it's a case of he hasn't brought out a few things that are very risky to use for him specifically, so he's 'holding back' in the way that he's not desperate enough to use them.
Basically... he's almost died like 4-5 times now, if he actually is holding back... he's stupid basically, like imagine if he lost to Gojo's final hollow purple because he was holding back... come on man.
Sukuna is there to have fun, not to really win, remember he's not there to take over the world or some supreme plan, he just wants hands.

Uraume isn't reliable since like, being the universe's biggest sukuna glazer (bar gege) and all.
I'm also fan of the crew wearing down Sukuna.
In regards to the "holding back" part, there is the possibility that Uraume may be referring to a binding vow Sukuna may hold as a final trump card. It could be Sukuna's cost to make this vow may actually prove somewhat irritating to give up (like losing his ability to form new mouths on his body or something) and he'd just rather not be inconvenienced unless absolutely necessary. That's at least my interpretation.
Uraume could also be referring to the fact that Sukuna ate tengen and could start the merger whenever he wanted?

I’d agree, but sukuna isn’t really using his bag or things he’s learned in a way that makes sense. It’s literally such a great coincidence that kamutoke gets taken instead of his technique. How convenient that sukuna didn’t have to pull out another move or fuga to deal with kashimo. Oh nice, max output jacobs ladder dosent do anything. Oh great yujis soul punches aren’t so good that sukuna can’t land a black flash. Oh darn , sukuna will recover his domain eventually it’s not permanently gone. If he actually pulled out his technique then it would make sense. But the problem is you can easily make another antagonist just off the powers he has yet to lose, and we are down to kusakabe. Makes everyone’s fights seem too useless, they aren’t even getting to different phases of this boss fight
That’s what I’m sayin. And I feel like he’s way to optimistic. This series is dark and it’s not out the realm of possibility that sukuna wins. I really don’t see them jumping that wide of a gap interms of power and skill. Yuta cut in half, maki once he gets his domain back she’s cooked, Higoruma dead, choso nearly died, yuji healin, and all we got is kusikabe 😭💀. I love him but no. Who knows tho, gege could surprise me.
Thank you for pointing this stuff out. This has been so annoying to me as the chapters are released. I also remember when Sukuna was being tag teamed by yuji and Yuta. They cut off all of his arms if I remember correctly. And then somehow, he had his hands back without signs of using RCT. While also being mentioned he can’t use it properly. Nope. He just has his hand back and dismantles yuta. Gege writing is going downhill

@@itshurtt395 what I meant was that Yuji and Yuta ripped his arms and tongue off. So he can’t do anything right? Nope. He somehow regenerates a single arm that was supposedly torn off and hit Yuta with dismantle. I was confused because I thought it was ripped off no? There was no sign of RCT and there’s no way he can use RCT to regenerate at that point.
The issue is that Gege keeps creating these scenes that look like Sukuna's gonna be put on the back foot then goes "nah, he's still not even trying, totally chill" and has him trash his oppoent, like come on. If Sukuna had taken *any* sort of impactful loss (y'know, like everyone except Sukuna has, even Gojo), people wouldn't see it as such an issue. The fact that Sukuna landed a black flash and is now *amped*, and yet he was still 'not even trying' according to Uraume what, a chapter before? Without any apparent doubt or contradiction, despite how much he's been beaten up?
Yeah, I'm not feeling it. Even Gojo has taken some really apparent Ls, and showed some weakness at points, but Sukuna has taken no Ls that feel like they mean anything, never had any weakness really pay off, never had his hand well and truly forced because he was 'always holding back' and is still getting glazed like hell. It's making the whole fight feel pointless, and its making Sukuna's power feel unreasonable.
Gege needs to have Sukuna actually hurting for the allegations to stop, because it feels like there's nothing to expect anymore.
The true demerits of introducing the final villain from the start and introducing someone like Gojo.
Once you put that in the table and then do nothing with the rest of the cast to make it feel like they’ve made any kind of progress to reach that lvl your just left with glaze and pointless fights

Gojo hasn't taken any Ls, untill literally every disaster curse came together and sealed gojo, before thr backstory arc, there he was pre awakened, so t makes sense that he would take an L. After that point it's the Sukuna vs Gojo
@@user-uv6qu3wb5d to be fair the only reason he lost back when he was pre awakened because touji made a damn near fool proof plan and got a jump on him at exactly when he was at his weakest. Which took days to come into fruition.
So even at his weakest he’d still have avoided an L had been mildly aware of touji
My only real problem with the Sukuna glazing was when Gojo glazed him in the manner he did after he died. I feel like Gojo and Sukuna should have had similar levels of praise for one another, but Gojo's just came across much more strongly.
Every character has their own way of praising. The way sukuna praised gojo is his own way and to some it may seem lacking but that just come down to individual interpretation cause to me i feel like sukuna highly praised gojo

That's to be expected, Sukuna has lived for far longer, has had more experience in close battles, and wasn't thought to be the strongest from birth. It's only logical that Gojo would be more surprised by somebody being on his level, he's literally been leagues above everything and everyone ever since he was born, and the one time he was outclassed by somebody (Toji), he came back less than a day later and no diffed them.
Ah, yes, the "sukana kaisen" video is finally here at last. This should be a fun one.
I think this video fundamentally misunderstands people's frustration. Its the fact that Gege is constantly telling us Sukuna is weakened yet is still SO much above everyone else that they last a chapter at most. He sees thru every plan, he can id every single technique and know it fully (when Yuta used clairvoyance he immediately recognized it as that instead of just reflex), he can tank a maximum output output JL, and he's now landed a black flash.
You mentioned that the sorcerers surpassing him wouldn't be out of place but it absolutely would be because he's so far above; theyve never had such a large gap to overcome. Especially with his CE output returning and only Kusakabe currently in the fight.
Gege has created a situation where it wouldn't feel right for the heroes to win and it is getting repetitive bc unlike the Gojo fight, there's no one here to make Sukuna even use different tactics. How do they win in a way that feels organic?
It doesn't help that before this fight, Gege gave us no real sense for how powerful Sukuna was ever supposed to be beyond vague statements, so everything feels like it's coming out of left field, and there's no ability for us readers to gauge how plausible any of this shit is. It's just pure spectacle, and even that's getting old.
The idea of them surpassing him is wild lol, especially in the time left before everyone is killed, nobody would say that if he wasn't the villain, even Gojo whos weaker nobody would dare

Great video, but the comparison between Gojo and Sukuna being hyped up is wrong imo. Gojo always got praised and showed what he was capable of, but also he failed and took Ls. First example is him not getting to finish Jogo, the second is the barrier in Good-Will impeding him, the third was his defeat by Toji, Riko's death and subsequent Geto happenings, the fourth was in Shibuya, as he was sealed despite his brief demonstration of speed. Gojo was god-like, but also flawed and he could be defeated, while Sukuna, despite being hit by several attacks that he should at least be hurt or demonstrate annoyance, he's just shrugging off with indeference in his body posture, facial expressions and spoken words. And that is irritanting, since he just turned into something that doesn't react to the protagonists efforts.

Sukuna got jumped in the heian era (golden age of jujutsu sorcery) and still came out on top and was called a calamity and king of curses, the fact he's easily handling the main cast should be expected, just because he's a villain doesn't mean we can ignore how much hype he got

the problem with sukuna isnt hes feats, but the way the other characters interactions are being played out. sukuna being able to copy mahoragas slash, having twice the amount of CE as yuta, having a fresh reset through reincarnation, him STILL not going full out yet, pumping hes god damn heart with curse energy! thats all dope and raw af, you wouldnt expect anything less from the king! the problem is him being nervous against gojo in the moments between seeing the world cutting slash from mahoraga and being blasted by the aoe HP, him looking rough af and cutting gojo in half WITHOUT CHANTING, hes cursed tool being taken instead of hes technique, jacobs ladder not doing damage like it had before, maki, the girl who was blind to curse energy a few months ago and needed glasses can now see sukunas slashes... the way the story is going, sukuna will die by an asspull.
I disagree, if you look at it from the perspective of the narrative, Sukuna represents strength, his ideal is that the strong rule over the weak. Strength is everything to him. I believe him being superior to all characters in their respective strengths is just telling us that they can't win with strength alone. But yuji just pummeling sukuna into the ground for the win would go crazy

I honestly thought they would've wrapped it up with Yuta, Yuji and Maki's plan, that seemed like a pretty good place for it to finally be over without much plot conveniences or armor but then Sukuna just makes it out fine, so I'm not sure how this is going to resolve in a way that seems plausible. It wouldn't be as bad if they didn't keep saying Sukuna is holding back, because it just makes him look suicidal since there's been a few times where he legitimately could've died and yet he's still "holding back" whatever that even means. It's just getting kinda boring now to see the same pattern of new contender joins the fight, seemingly "pushes" Sukuna and then gets killed, then rinse and repeat.
There are a few cards I can think of that they still haven't used yet :
-Whatever Kusakake has up his sleeve. Won't be enough, but he's not the strongest first-grade for nothing
-Fully summoned Rika. That implies Yuta comes back, but he didn't summon her completely yet
-The new Tengen. Definitely the only thing I can think of that would match him in power level
-Megumi starting to fight back from the inside. What if he could summon Mahoraga and force Sukuna to fight it ?
-They somehow manage to trap him inside Yuji

Even though Gojo got the same treatment as Sukuna is getting right now, Gege always made it clear that he was defeatable. He just needed someone on par with his jujutsu skills and Sukuna was always the answer. But now that Sukuna is as overpowered as Gojo was if not more, then who is it that can match him right now. I never defended that Gojo shouldn't have been killed or he should come back but i do believe that Gege is raising the stake too high. So high that any way out will seem like an asspull. (Example :- Kashimo being a sus boi, the cursed object's confiscation, Higurama being an amplification user on par with Sukuna himself, Yuji turning out to be a complete prodigy in terms of using RCT.)

We’ve always seen in life or death situations characters evolve and grow stronger they don’t always win ,but they definitely improve in a short time. So I don’t think it’s those are azzpulls because have seen similar growth to that in the past, examples being Megumi and his domain, Mahito new body, Maki finding herself and understanding HR better, Choso when he was able to use his brother’s technique, I’m sure there more I’m missing. Kashimo I’ll admit is a weird one lol, the only thing I can think of is he knew he had no chance so he just started admiring him.
So there definitely a basis for it and I expect more growth in the future. Whether it’s Yuta figuring out how to break limit for having Rika, with Yuji it’s hard to say because he has more possibilities than most. There elements about Yuji we just don’t understand. I wouldn’t be shocked later if he is feed Tengen and that does something crazy to him. I expect that I will eat anything to kxll Sukuna will show up and that might be it.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved Sukuna’s prescence going into the fight and I no delusions that he’d lose to Gojo. I was willing to accept a lot, but I drew the line at “he’s actually been holding back this entire time”.
Part of the fun of a fight like this is slowly whittling Sukuna down and seeing how he can get out time and time again as he eventually loses but at this point, there’s no way he can if he’s this winded and keeps going. It’s at a point of futility, there is no reasonable way to expect victory without bad writing.
I don’t know why him holding back or not caring about the fight is a problem. When it’s been stated multiple times he barely gives a shit about anything. It took Gojo to hit what 3? 4? black flashes and nuke a city to make this guy stress. Literally everything that’s happened in all the fights with him characterize displays of “him holding back”. This guy is analogous to a god when it comes to Jujutsu for a reason I don’t see why it’s wrong to show that

I think in my opinion why everyone is so divided on where JJK is right now is just that the story is in a very turbulent time with the highest tensions and stakes ever as well as the deaths of several popular characters. Knee jerk emotional reactions are going to happen when popular characters die and so many of them back to back and since everyone reacts differently as well as the Internet being the Internet, the community is in a very volatile state. And while I too am concerned that a "Madara situation" might happen with sukuna in which the only way to defeat Sukuna is through a very unsatisfying way, I don't believe we're there just yet as I still personally see win conditions and JJK isn't finished so although it might seem like Gege is fumbling, he's still cooking and we should trust the process. And hey, if the ending isn't as good as we thought, it's not the end of the world

My problem isn’t even that sukuna isn’t hurt after this stuff it’s how the plot is so embarrassingly convenient to get him out, and some times unexplained. Mahaoraga being summoned when he’s stun locked and being adapted to the pinnacle of Gojo’s technique (domain) without being fully adapted to blue or red. Having his curse tool conveniently taken in higaruma’s domain, essentially taking no damage after taking a maximum output Jacob’s latter to someone who is said to have the same amount of curse energy in that moment, blocking the fucking soul splitting katana, and being able to physically baby the woman who is supposed to to have peak possible stats in the verse due to not having curse energy. The whole philosophy of wondering which route should be taken, his or Maki’s is laughably empty seeing as he’s PHYSICALLY playing around with her and two other sorcerers with no contention. And it doesn’t make any sense when you realize he only has around yuta levels of curse energy left or less so his curse energy reinforcement shouldn’t be amping him to the same degree as a heavenly restriction. But hey, he’s the strongest right? As a character I love sukuna, but this ain’t it bro. And what type of explanation will be suitable to explain all this shit in a cohesive way in the end. I bet you just like gojo’s death it won’t even go explain. How does a man with the six eyes not discern what sukuna is cooking up in his half dead state? I’m rambling. I knew gojo was gonna lose I like the world slash and I was content with it. But a world slash coming from a deaths door sukuna hitting gojo when’s he’s seen it before and got hit by it by mahoraga? The fact that people care this much about the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen and have all these debates and and topics also proves that GeGe is a great story teller and writer. The very fact that people are wondering how someone as powerful as Sukuna could be defeated, means that he is accomplishing his role as a fierce villain on the level of Madara and Frieza, because I remember not too long ago people were asking the same questions about Madara's strength and long before that Frieza's strength. I think Sukuna is serving his purpose in the narrative and just imagine the level satisfaction we will all have when he's finally defeated. Plus, I'm looking forward to see how powerful Sukuna truly is.

It's been well established that both Yuji AND Sukuna's strongest traits are the depths of their souls. Sukuna with his overwhelming malice, Yuji with his unending drive. While nobody can match Sukuna physically, Yuji CAN match Sukuna spiritually.
Yuji is going to convince Megumi to get back up, they are going to eject Sukuna's soul from Megumi's body, Yuji is going to injest Sukuna once more, and Yuji will defeat Sukuna internally. That might just be a satisfying end to/for Sukuna.

My issue with Sukuna is not that he's too strong, its that, that strength will cause issues when it comes to a satisfying ending. It feels like it'll take an asspull powerup for the main cast to win.

@@Exhiidevoid The only one that wouldn't be "random" is Yuji getting a fully confirmed CT and DE. There are three possible outcomes that O narrowed down: 1. Confirmed Blood Manip alongside Eso and Kechizu's tech 2. Fire manipulation, since no one in the verse has used it before (Jogo's is lava) 3. Sukuna's actual CT since it was said he would have it etched into his soul once Sukuna was in long enough. The first would make sense because he's technically related to the third noble clan and should have Eso and Kechizu's CT from eating them alongside what is 80% confirmed to be Blood Manipulation. Yuji having a DE would also make sense because he would be the strongest blood manip user (sorry Choso) given Kenjaku's bedroom activities involved him being Noritoshi Kamo. That, or we know what the fuck Fūga was and turns out it was Itadori's innate technique given by Kenjaku since he knows about Sukuna's techniques and knew he would lose Fūga to not having his OG body with that same black box so he put it in Yuji so Sukuna could access it when he's in his body, hence why he hasn't (or can't) use it now. Or, he just has a diet version of Sukuna's CT from having consumed so many fingers and having Sukuna inside him (no homo) for so long. Alternate option: Gege pulls a Kubo and Yuji has all three and is a group project.
I like the idea that "The Black Flash" on Maki is PROOF that Sukuna is all in, and not toying with people. They have his concentration... He is being widdled down but I'm still kind of sure he has a final plan/trick up his sleeve. Otherwise he would've escaped to get some type of a break to recouperate. He knows something they don't know.

Its the constant 3 chapter story arc where you have X Character step up (Now forced, Rest In Pieces Kusakabe) to fight Sukuna, the next chapter X character seems to get the upper hand and lands some sort of critical blow (Higaruma sealing his baby rattle, Yuta using Sukuna's CT, Yuji weakening his grasp on Megumi, Maki stabbing his heart with the soul Katana etc) just to have the chapter after that show X character either dead, or get killed and get "Sukuna ain't even trying" thrown in our face. it removes all stakes from the fight as it becomes a case of "If none of the main cast have achieved anything in the fight. If Sukuna hasn't even started trying. If Sukuna isn't facing any consequences for him fighting recklessly. What's the point?" The narrative has lost any tension it might of had because it doesn't matter what the main cast does. Sukuna isn't trying and so therefore at any moment could just, start trying and all of them would be dead. The Narrative isn't punishing Sukuna for that.
"Oh X characters could all awaken" Assuming any of them are alive to begin with. Maybe, But again, Sukuna ISN'T TRYING. So okay, Maki awakens. Sukuna might decide to heal his soul and fix his injuries. Yuta then Awakens, Sukuna might use his DE. Yuji Awakens, Sukuna will tell him his fodder, his boring, his Mum was a brain puppet who experimented on him L+Ratio (Because lets be honest Yuji could actually become god and Sukuna still wouldn't give a shit). But seriously, lets say that Sukuna DOES take Yuji awakening seriously, Bro might then use his Black Box. Who do we even have left that could actually stand a fight against Sukuna with an awakening? Because with each awakening, Sukuna might then use more and more of his kit, Okay, that might even mean Sukuna is starting to try. But Sukuna, not using his full kit + not trying is literally neg diffing everyone. for the main cast to all of sudden all awaken and suddenly shoot up to levels of power that could beat a Sukuna now using his full kit and giving it 100% is just an asspull.
Sukuna has been built up to be considerably stronger then Gojo and has gotten to a point, where any feasible win against him now looks like an asspull because nothing has been established that would suggest an outcome where he loses. With each chapter that goes by it feels closer and closer to getting that "Madara stabbed in the back chapter" because "Lol he was too strong i couldn't think of a way to kill him" When you constantly say that "X character isn't trying" while that character is cleaning out your main cast, you set the precedent that, if Sukuna WAS trying, then they'd all be dead in an instant and that would be the end and in doing so, you remove the tension from the fight and it starts to feel dragged out and repetitive, because at any moment, If Sukuna were to try, the fight would be over. But he doesn't try, so the fight keeps going when it COULD be over and again, Sukuna isn't facing any narrative punishments for this. all his injuries / nerfs. Don't matter or affect him, because even with these nerfs, he still is not trying and is still neg diffing the cast.
It seems quite clear people give Gege way too much credit as a writer and think his immune to getting too excited over his favorite character and won't get carried away making him too strong for the plot his in, To me, it seems clear he is writing himself into a corner that will only follow with an asspull and the following 10 chapters worth of glazing to hype them up to try and "retcon" the writing himself into a corner

Here’s the thing: the entire fight against Sukuna has been described as a “raid boss fight” so naturally Sukuna SHOULD be able to beat everyone that goes up against him until the heroes are down to their last few fighters. The PROBLEM however, is the fact that Sukuna has just been described as, in the previous chapter, “still holding back” meaning that EVERY SINGLE FIGHT past Gojo has done nothing and team good guys have like maybe 5 people left who aren’t dead or actively aren’t helping (srly Megumi, fight for your f*cking body so all your friends don’t die at least). This is leading to a situation where we, the readers, are left wondering “ Why should we care who fights next, since it’s going to end up the same way or poorly done?”

I’ll be more impressed when Gege stops making everyone fucking 1v1 Sukuna. Only for them to get beat in 4.3 seconds, we’ve been going in circles for the last like two months. Characters start doing well, Sukuna has an answer, Characters find solutions to that answer; Sukuna KOs or kills them. It’s so damn boring. Even Madara didn’t do this bs, Madara was actively trying to finish everyone off even while toying with them. Madara is a straight battle sadist and still just wanted to kill. The biggest problem with this final battle is the constant implication that Sukuna has been holding back since Gojo even though he was demonstrably getting his ass whooped and nearly died 3 times in that fight alone. Then Kashimo nearly killed him. Then Yuji and Higa nearly killed him. This battle alone he’s nearly fucking died like 5 times lmao. Either Sukuna is a monumental dumbass for holding back so long or Gege is accidentally writing himself into a corner. And yes Sukuna has had sooooo many ass pulls. Not just getting glazed but literally surviving shit by pure luck alone is so obnoxious and kinda lazy writing. Not only that but we also have no reason to give a fuck about Sukuna because he has absolutely NO backstory other than “me strong, me evil”. That’s what sets apart Frieza, Aizen, Madara, and Meruem they at least have a reason for us to be invested in their strength. Through the entire Namek Saga we see Frieza’s personality and motivations unfold. Madara was being set up since the beginning of Naruto when his name was only mentioned in passing then slowly over time became more pressing. Aizen we get to see his plans, personality, and skills on display. Meruem was interesting because he was unlike anything we’ve ever seen in the series as just a baby. All these characters have some form of charm to them while Sukuna is just kinda…..there? He’s definitely more interesting than the Demon Slayer villain but not by much at all. Sukuna’s power set has gotten stale because we’ve spent way too much time with him and until he pulls out something actually different it will remain stale.
5:12 I just wanna say, the music here, from when Sukuna opens his domain against Mahoraga, is sooooo *_fucking_* good, that shit gave me the chilliest of chills in the episode and gave me chills hearing it now lmao, shit is so *_fire_*
I guess my concern is if the main cast is already struggling badly with a injured sukuna and by the time everyone healed up sukuna might be back at 100%. I just don't see how it possible to beat him even if they jump him without it feeling like an asspull if they win.

What’s crazy in studying the verse as a whole both from canon and hypothetical information is the room the system has to be even more powerful. Especially considered how power level has at least some correlation to longevity in this verse. It’s entirely possible that sorcery goes exponentially further back than just 1000 years ago, especially when you remember that mythos of various cultures makes appearances in the series. Just ab any god could be canon too but the real question there is are they canon in a way that matters? Probably not. They’re too strong to be having any business in the main story anyway and I’d highly doubt more than one would make an appearance anytime soon

The binaries of which energy runs on also has the possibility to change depending on the spatial demensions at play in the matter. Sukuna _is_ too strong. He cannot be beaten in a narrative satisfactorily way, because in order to beat Gojo, Gege was forced to give him a technique that trivializes every fight. If Sukuna loses, it's because either a) plot contrivance or b) he was monumentally stupid. He has an un-blockable, un-dodgable instant kill Dismantle. He just preformed his first, of what will be multiple Black Flashes, which will restore his RCT and let him heal that pesky stab wound he currently has. "Plot" said the only realistic way to beat Sukuna couldn't happen, so the only option left is contrivance.
You realize Maki has been dodging that slash because she can see it. Gojo probably didn’t dodge because why would he. Sukuna is being chipped away every fight he has had. Why don’t you think it will eventually catch up to him.
Sukuna is not the most cautious fighter at all doesn’t care if he lives or dies. I can easily see him underestimating Yuji or giving something that makes him stronger and backfires, for example forcing Yuji to eat Tengen. Which doesn’t sound to crazy.
Sorcerers and curses have always been getting stronger within a fight all the time in JJK doesn’t always led to winning but it does happen.
Sukuna had to be this strong or else JJK ends in few months after Gojo dies. That would be so much worse. We would have way more questions unanswered.

At this point, JJK should end with Sukuna winning. It won't, but if Gege were to maintain any sort of consistency in how he has written things up to this point, then Sukuna should not lose.

I have Sukuna kxlling everyone but Yuji it’s falls in line with something he would do to make him suffer. I have this ultimately backfiring on him. This is probably when we get a better understanding of what Yuji is, and what he was meant for.

If anything id say most anime build up a “strongest” kind of enemy and then they lose a bit to easy, madara was hyped up on a similar level and that ending is widely hated cause it feels like it was two easy. In the long term i think people will appreciate how much went into actually beating sukuna
I'm just tired of Sukuna literally easily countering everything in a form no one knew he could use until after he steamrolled Kashimo in the most one sided fight since Volcano Head got burned to a crisp.
@demod2080 he hit his four armed form after an attack or two from kashimo after he had already killed gojo while only having one arm and having to say chants to use the world slash and hand signs but somehow he killed gojo with it without any of that and without an amped gojo noticing what he was doing even when it was stated how all sorcerers have a spark when using a big move thats how sukuna knew gojo was going to use the red after destroying agito with the blue moments earlier and gojo was our strongest fighter we had not even our whole cast put together could rival gojo so how the hell are we supposed to win if our #1 can beat our whole team and the villain he is fighting beat our number 1 after saying his hollow purple would be fatal not only does he survive it the very next chapter he kills our number 1 with little to no effort like there is no conceivable way to being it back after that and supposedly he has been holding back our #1 couldn't make him go all out so how could our number 2 through 10 make him do anything more they can't without asspulls of the century like literally all the cast we have couldn't beat gojo when he was alive so how the hell do they beat someone who was holding back when he killed him

what i thinks gonna happen is the cast finds some way to seal sukuna (prison realm or fingers again idk) and then cut forward a couple decades later to a new cast of like 10 to 15 yuta level combatants who then beat then jump him

I also think that it doesn't help that we see the students and everyone throwing everything they have at Sukuna just for him to not be trying all the way. He's basically run through all the established threats to him at this point while apparently not going close to 100%.

Honestly he is the final boss of the manga so he has to be overwhelmingly strong, imagine like this, he is like a raid boss, while gojo was that level max caracter that was created to be good in combat he can keep up in the short run hell even cause a lot of damage,but sukuna is still the raid boss,and a level max player no matter how skilled cannot defeat the raid boss alone
Literally the only problem I have with the fight is that he still hasn’t shown his full power. He has killed almost everyone in the cast so far but he still hasn’t shown his full power just makes it seem like nothing besides a complete asspull will be able to defeat him. The sorcerers had a chance before to beat him because he was slowing getting weaker and weaker, but now that we know he hasn’t even been trying this whole time, and the only people left aren’t nearly strong enough to beat him, just makes it pointless.

At this point, Sukuna is similar to Shigaraki and AFO, who are difficult to beat, requiring multiple big fights with plans made many times. As someone who is tired of happy endings and wants a different result, I am very excited for Sukuna to become the ultimate villain.
Shigaraki and AfO have been much better written and were convincingly established as beatable, even if it would be hard. Sukuna? Nah, he was shrouded in mystery before, and now he's so strong that any tension has left the fight.

The difference is that Gojo being strong makes any conflict trivial cause, he's Gojo. With Sukuna it's much more tense.

The difference between Gojo and Sukuna’s hype is Gojo’s hype was to establish what the top of the verse looked like at the time, If Gege didn’t give Gojo as much hype as he did we wouldn’t understand why Gojo is called the strongest nor would we know how he compares to curse techniques like Mei Mei’s and Naobito’s
While Sukuna already had hype that compared him similarly to Gojo prior to shinjuku and now that he defeated Gojo the established strongest at the time, there’s no need to hype or glaze him any further since we already know he’s the strongest

Beside if Gege glazed Sukuna like you say he did before Shinjuku showdown , no way People would have thought Gojo stand a chance against Sukuna. If there were a debate between Gojo and Sukuna it was because even tho the author glazed Sukuna, he glazed Gojo even more.
Don't forget the 2 conditions Kenjaku made in season 1 were made. Kill Gojo and fully restore Sukuna.

Anyway Sukuna never got hyped to the point where he was the obvious strongest of the verse like now. So I'm fine with glaze especially when those statements are backed up by the action
I feel Sukuna is basically Gege's version of Madara Uchiha, and it's just as aggravating, if not more so. Madara at least was extremely entertaining and had a variety of colorful jutsu at his disposal. Sukuna is just too one-note in comparison, and his strength comes off as even more arbitrary since Gege has habitually left out much in the way of worldbuilding or exposition to give him any real context other than that he's the strongest.
This is why Kenjaku should have been the final villain. Dude was interesting, he wouldn't shut up, and he probably directly or indirectly screwed over most of the cast like Aizen did in his manga. It would have been a real battle of ideologies in a way Sukuna can never really pull off.
If Gege really wanted to emphasize that the students need to collectively take on Gojo's crown, he's done a piss-poor job doing it, either sidelining the kids too early, not really developing them beyond their introductions, and generally just giving Sukuna the run of the place with little fanfare. I think MHA did a much, MUCH better job of this sort of thing, even if the two manga are otherwise so different as to not warrant a comparison.

That’s not its own technique it’s just cleave and dismantle you might just put it under one of those. So he would take both away. Think he should have had that tool with Gojo as well, wouldn’t look as bad as him getting it just for convenience in that situation.
