The situation with the foreign hero was already solved because AFO said that he had friends oversea that create some mahem so that there could be no foreign hero that could come into Japan because they will be too busy to solde their issue. So no need to create SaS. Also her destroying AFO quirk as a consequence is useless because we don't even know what alters she destroyed. If at leats she destroyed decay, we could at least feel the consequence.

It was pretty badass, watching it without reading the manga, I was hyped for star and stripe, got to tell people about her and how cool her design looked, then two episodes into season 3 she is gone, that’s pretty impactful to me as a viewer.

Yeah, while I don’t agree with damn near every single hundred bajillion critiques of My Hero out there nowadays, Horikoshi really should’ve cooked more with this character or just not do it at all. She was in n out quick, and it felt like what I feel with the current Jujutsu cast that they’re wasted before any real potential is tapped into, and to me, that’s worse than the criticism of not killing off characters enough for the sake of tension.
The Jujutsu Kaisen cast was here for en entire 2 seasons, wtf are you talking about comparing that to this character who's only gonna be here for a couple episodes?

I strongly agree. In my opinion, Horokoshi is a really good writer when it comes to MHA and I also don’t agree with every single critique on MHA. But even good writers will have several hiccups, especially for the third act of the series. Star and Stripe being one of Horokoshi’s hiccups. I was just thinking of ways Horokoshi could use her for world building and impact on other characters if he let her live after this fight. Heck I was writing my own ideas for her if she was to survive this fight thinking of ways to enhance the story and characters more. Even bring in another character through her that other people really like from an MHA spinoff series. And it frustrates me that it feels like there was so much more her character had to offer…just for him to kill her off like that. Some one else said it the best. “It felt like Horokoshi just brought Star into the story to solve an issue that didn’t exist until he decided himself it existed.”
Hori failed her. One of the coolest characters and amazing quirk only for him to kill her off in a flash. I deadass dropped the series for 2 years after that
I dropped it after Deku's friends saved Deku so easily from his depression and brought him back to the academia. That was one of the most unbelievable and stupidest thing that I have ever seen. Horikoshi could handle it much better, but I guess he was in hurry and just wanted to wrap up and finish that shit as fast as possible
And Kenjaku still got humiliated right after and only ruined Yuki as a character, hard to compare, Stars also died because of a dumb mental handicap that should’ve never happened given her background and was supposed to be like- the strongest hero in the entire world, it’s so goofy

They are kind of similar, both are the strongest female characters in their verse and they both died in fights they should’ve won. There’s no reason Yuki shouldn’t have killed her oppenent with a BLACK HOLE and there’s no reason Stars and Stripes didn’t impose a rule that was able to kill shikigari. Their designs are similar enough too
That’s not the issue, did you watch the video? Her losing isn’t the problem. It’s the fact that she, the symbol of peace in America, was introduced at such short notice and immediately killed out. Apparently according to manga readers, her existence doesn’t affect the plot later on either, shigaraki only gets stronger

Not die in 4 chapters or in the snime two fucking episodes. Her quirk was absolutely broken but she literally only served so no other county would get involved and to dely the finally battle one more week. She could have been introduced far earlier or maybe even have the class fo to America to find her, maybe have them go there to recruit people for the cause and they help her take out some big bag thst All for one hired. So many options and instead she is just died. I honeslty think The writer made her quirk put her there and than realized. "Oh shit her quirk is actually broken even with the few restrictions she has.... better kill her off or the plot could be ruined."
I love this series but I’m sad that they killed her off so quick. Tbh, I have a slight understanding why Horikoshi did that due to her recent role in the manga ( I won’t say what ofc). But anime fans aren’t going to take this well and it going to cause a lot of hate material.
I see a lot of people talking about how she nerfed shiggy but is that truly the case. It's said in story so yes but it really didn’t do anything because none of the quirks we know he has gets destroyed so it's really just empty words.

1) there is a whole other series from horkoshi on American heroes called “vigilantes”, it’s finished and the prequel to MHA 2) Star was used as a device to nerf Shiggy while simultaneously give a realistic reason Japan was abandoned by the rest of the world 3) She also showed during her fight and later through her team, that a single person can actually change the course of the world through helping, inspiring and connecting, as her team decides to help Deku despite the US orders, to honour star. And despite the fact that the US is considering to work with AFO as a quick solution to bring back socioeconomic stability, which is realistic as well. She herself was another kid saved in more ways than one by Allmight. 4) She is also one of the three characters that manages to leave an impression on AFO highlighting his absurd arrogance, but at the same time how OP he is. 5) Her fight was visually stunning and it manages to get you attached in a few chapters. So she doesn’t suck, in my opinion.

He said she was poorly used, and to that everything you said is still correct outside of the vigilante that has nothing to do with the horror she whatsoever he green let story character Usage but outside of that it is written by two different people and it has nothing to actually do with it and is entirely based in Japan, until the end, when he moves to America to leave, going to prison so that was stupid to mention. Star was meant to be an archetype for American ideals. She wasn't meant to be a lasting character but to show how much of a threat shigaraki is and to give us a peak into American Hero culture not a full fledged view of it.

It doesn’t stand out as much in jjk because the author conditioned the readers to expect characters to not be here for too long, and plus they easily get more screetime than here. Mha isn’t known for doing that so it’s a lot more jarring and the way it was done was too quick. That’s the difference.

Honestly, this is as bad as when madara dies and kaguya the space alien arrives into Naruto. It’s like wth is even this? Then the fact that horikoshi goes back on all the damage star does just shows how incompetent he was when writing this part. He should have edited out of the anime and redone this section. Basically plead on his knees that the animation company allow him this change. The fact is star and stripe is never mentioned again. This is like filler but trying to act like it isn’t. Star was an amazing character. Just her power was amazing. That’s why I liken it to the tragedy that is madara. Once kishimoto ended madara he didn’t know what else to do and took a page from the history channel and said “aliens”. Here, when horikoshi nerfs shigaraki he then goes “oh crap, I can’t figure out how he’s going to fight all the superhero’s if he isn’t a infinite regenerating tank so I can pretend it’s not plot armor that has stoped shigaraki from being defeated” so somehow shigaraki gets all his powers back,specifically the regeneration quirks back. He then tries to say “it isn’t as strong as before” and shigaraki is still out here being able to regenerate from being thrown into a black hole and getting a quasar to explode on him. I don’t think star and stripes sucks. I think horikoshi failed here.

Star and stripes battle showed a couple of things. It explained the hesitance of other countries sending aid to Japan. Seeing star lose caused other countries to stop hero's who were already set to go and help, this is due to the risk of losing their heavy hitters, seeing their powers fall into AFOs hands and the risk that if AFO won they would be on bad terms should they need to negotiate. It also showed that while all might was out of the fight be wasn't a bystander. He was still the symbol of defiance and star embodied that in her final act. The age of the symbol of peace is over. One person cannot bear the weight of the world. As shown by all mights final years as the symbol being largely deception. He was in desperate need of help, but wouldn't let it show outside if a handful of people due to fear of the symbol being lost and panic ensuing. It also became relevant again later
later in the manga she tears through a huge portion of all for ones quirk stockpile.I don’t think the writing was all that bad. It went to show the scaling of shigaraki. (can’t spell dat) this fight was to show that not only Japan was in danger but the whole. And even if they do something it can’t save/fix everything.

Yeah she made the quirk of Shigaraki go ranpant but later he is just back like nothing happened and what she did didnt even affect anything on the other fights. I get that whole thing about needing to touch and know the "identity" of things but lets be honest... that was stupid reason. Never was said that what she ordered could only affect what she touched. And that was explained as well regarding the perception of things that for non living things like a Rock, she can say the rock since her own perception matters in that case. For a living thing, the thing's perception matters in that case. This was pretty clearly mentioned and therefore she can't just say the guy I touched will die. She was supposed to show how strong Shigaraki has gotten since he went back into hiding. Beating America's number one hero in their first meeting. I think it added a lot to the story, some people just don't pay attention.
Her quirk is too strong. Putting a rule on someone for their heart to stop beating is crazy. The only caveat was that shigaraki wasn’t even shigaraki at that point but a mix of shigaraki and all for one
2 things, 1st : He probably hanged out with Gege that week. 2nd : " Shit I made Shirgaraki too OP, what do I do?" So SnS was probably introduced to take out a chunk of quirks from him.
I feel like it was more to nerf him rather than to introduce her. He could’ve been giving America a shout out too just because he loves comics himself. If these aren’t the reasons he definitely fumbled.
Horikoshi ended up following the same route as Takahashi did with InuYasha....kept moving the goalposts regarding EVERY attempt the heroes made to finally outpace Naraku and kill him Literally ONLY the Wind Scar and Backlash Wave moves InuYasha mastered for Tessaiga where developed and made SOLELY to counteract Naraku and he just got a new power after InuYasha successfully used them on him ONCE Sesshomaru literally gained a whole new sword whole-clothe alongside regaining his lost arm with an ability TAILOR MADE TO DESTROY HIM AND HIS CHEAP REGENERATION and it was delayed being used on him till literally the final battle And then theres all the upgrades everyone else got just for the finale: Sango's reforged boomerang, Miroku's resistance to his Wind Tunnel, and Kagome's unlocked Miko powers All unlocked with numeorus chapters still to go for the final battle and hardly utilized so they can drag out the end
It's about the other side of the coin beeing a hero. It's not enough to show you that it could happen that you die like in almost every scene until now. It's that you can actually die in a heartbeat, even as a top notch hero. She came perfectly great. You can put it up as disaster or whatever you like. But there is a reason behind it.

She wouldve been much more valuable in the upcoming fights, "there will be no more oxygen in a 200 square meters" - Dabi rendered useless. I’m not a writer but wish could’ve have seen more of her. love her back story plus I think majority of the fans didn’t have a problem with her dying and the way she died. If only the author could have extended a bit more of her. like an OVA featuring her and heroes from different countries before killer her.
It’s about legacy, not necessarily telling us more about hero culture in the west but about how all might has impacted the entire world and how the way he inspires people (one of the thematic through lines of the entire manga) was able to do significant damage to shigi even if it’s not through the main characters
He needed someone to kill off the quirks inside AFO+how the world reacted because he wrote himself into a corner. It’s really silly to send the best USA has to offer for another country’s problem even tho it’s very US-like
On the other side im glad we are having characters just dying for once and not that stupid everyone lived happily ever after and the villains just died. Some people die without reaching theyre potential not everyone is the narrator of the story.

If I had to make my guess it might be that he wrote it there in response to people being like, oh well if AFO and Shigaraki are a Japanese and world threat shouldn’t the other countries help. He put it in to be like no there isn’t going to be any hero’s from outside to make the end a bigger battle.
its not tht hard to understand. u need a powerful character to show how powerful ur main villian truly is , she fits tht, shes connected to all might, and she actually was able to provide more than enough help towards the big fight.
She definitely could have been foreshadowed instead of just being dropped in but I thought she was awesome even if she left almost right when she entered. One of the better fights in the series too
on the contrary her involvement was good writing because when it comes down to it mha is a conflict between one for all and all for one and all might (the influence of one for all) was only shown by characters in japan to this point but star is a testament to how all might has influenced more heroes than the show has time to show, so it was good writing because it showed us a strong international hero inspired by all might without diverting the show into a totally new direction while showing how many steps all for one is
Entire plot is about how the world is in complete disarray and has no idea how to stop shigiraki or all for one except a random hotshot plan cooked up by a ghost the world sending in a hero who’s top tier to their potential death is extremely reasonable the entire world is at stake she also disobeys her commander and calls a super strike down on without proper permission explains her though process the entire time and gives her life to heavily weaken and delay shigi seeing more of her would have been dope but I think the minimal filler and decisiveness reflects America and her own personal beliefs in more ways then people give credit
Even if you ignore the narrative problems with this... Her power literally lets her dictate the battles and Shigaraki is packed with quirks. The possibilities for this fight are endless, but Horikoshi went with "Shigaraki tanks hits, Stars gets his name wrong" This ain't fumbling, this is practically throwing

Honestly I wasn’t even that interested in her fight with Shigaraki in the manga. I know they wouldn’t let someone introduced so late be the one to defeat him so I had a feeling she would end up either defeated or dead by the end of the fight. I did enjoy the fight in the anime though, since I hadn’t seen it in a while and only knew the ending
Gotta disagree she was used as a Worf effect which shows how much of a threat Shigaraki is particularly as early in the series he is beaten easily. He was written as getting steadily stronger and this was meant to demonstrate the peak of his strength before the final arc

I always thought it weird how she was introduced only to be immediately killed off. She was more of a sacrificial lamb than a character, and that’s sad considering how she could have been introduced earlier into the story. At the very least it would have made her sacrifice all the more meaningful to us readers.
What did it achive?😂😂 Shigaraki was back with great power not many chapters latter. Oh no he lost some quirks we never saw or probably dont even remembet he had until we saw then in this fight... 😂 It was a mild inconvience at best.

This results in the quirk weakening and only being able to hold a set number of quirks within.
Everything about her was awful. Her introduction, her backstory, and worst of all was her quirk if you can even call it that. That kind of power had no business being in my hero academia and is the reason why she needed to be killed quickly so that it didn't break the series. If she wasn't introduced nothing would have changed.
I stop reading more or less at this point. Thei was the most bullshit fighr I ever saw. You either do it right or dont do it. To make just casually a person that can will everything into existence lose a fight like this and barely affect the story is just bad on a whole new level (yes she did nothing to the story. She caused a minor inconvience to Shigaraky/AFO and died)

Horikoshi failed very early in his vilain writing. Gave all of them some BS "healing" ability that was already old and outdated 30 years ago ( I mean that's what Toryiama ended up falling into starting at cell guys ) and could NOT write a proper way to defeat them besides "Plot". Stars N stripes is a perfect exemple of horrendous writing.
Idk what everyone here is talking about, she has a OP quirk that is just as powerful as one for all, maybe even more powerful, if all for one got his hands on her quirk then everyone is done for. she may have been killed off a lot sooner than anyone would have hoped but she sure hell made a comeback at all for one, basically beated his ass and got rid of half or even more of his stolen quirks, so that deku and his classmates can have the chance to defeat it. I've seen worst unless deaths for characters and she made a name of herself in the anime from only 2 episodes! yall are crazy for hating on this.

Honestly I feel the same haven’t read the manga at all but even in the anime it was so frustrating to see what looked to be such an awesome character simply shunned off in a matter of 2 episodes, such a shame really. I really was thinking after seeing how she starts her interaction with Shigaraki that she could be a top 3 character even just from her aura and sick design and even her quirk New Order which I do understand was kind of busted.
We are probably getting a Stars and Stripes spin off at some point. I’m okay with that. Hopefully they go more in depth with all for one vs one for all and their past fights.

OR OR, hear me out, Horikoshi used a character who had a close relationship to Japan via their mentor, explaining why she charged ahead of being given orders, in order to development and crisis within the AFO/Shigaraku hybrid and how much has changed since he was incomplete in a way that makes 100% sense. Just because she died doesnt make her a wasted character and if we are gonna devalue and devilve everything that happened to "she only exists to buy them more time", we can literally do that with a bunch of other characters that still exist. Just saying Horikoshi is a bad writier cause a character did something that makes sense but you wanted them to stay longer. Sorry to burst your bubble but just cause you wanted to see more of her doesnt make her poorly written or erase what actually happened. Also way to intentionally leave out how she also managed to use her quirk to deal a blow to AFO that helped turn the tide for the conflict. Alos how the reason she was "only able to delay them" and not end him is cause of how much the 2 had merged by that point that he wasnt even fully Shigaraku anymore. You know showing how much the villains plan had progressed when it comes to immediate threats. But if thats also bad writing or makes her a plot device then Id assume you think the same of every other character sonce they would under that same logic. Wrong. She existed (and died) specifically to show the alienation of Japan. Her death made all of the other countries too afraid to help Japan. Thus forcing the battle between the heroes and the villains. So it didn't delay the fight at all it rushed it. You got it backward. She wasn't used to make the world bigger at all. She was used to explain why other countries wouldn't help Japan despite the fact that Shigaraki and AFO are ABSOLUTELY Global threats by this point. Then to other countries, if the #1 hero in America couldn't beat Shigaraki (even if she only lost due to an insane coincidentally timed identity crisis on Shigaraki's part) then there was no way the other countries would risk their #1 heroes. The hero culture wasnt explored because of star.. her death showed that the outside world didn't matter. As her death isolated Japan from all outside help. The series is close to its end by this point world building more from here wouldn't make any sense.
Hori was probably sitting in his room thinking how to nerf the shit out of the American heroes💀 he kills off their symbol and now they’re somehow “afraid to intervene” mind you this is way after all might literally got beaten to a pulp by a weaker all for one and forced to retire, becoming a shell of his former self, yet the weaker (mostly children) Japanese heroes decided “let’s March towards the villains for ALL MIGHT!” Total horseshit

I strongly agree. In my opinion, Horokoshi is a really good writer when it comes to MHA and I also don’t agree with every single critique on MHA. But even good writers will have several hiccups, especially for the third act of the series. Star and Stripe being one of Horokoshi’s hiccups. I was just thinking of ways Horokoshi could use her for world building and impact on other characters if he let her live after this fight. Heck I was writing my own ideas for her if she was to survive this fight thinking of ways to enhance the story and characters more. Even bring in another character through her that other people really like from an MHA spinoff series. And it frustrates me that it feels like there was so much more her character had to offer…just for him to kill her off like that. Some one else said it the best. “It felt like Horokoshi just brought Star into the story to solve an issue that didn’t exist until he decided himself it existed.”

I dropped it after Deku's friends saved Deku so easily from his depression and brought him back to the academia. That was one of the most unbelievable and stupidest thing that I have ever seen. 1) there is a whole other series from horkoshi on American heroes called “vigilantes”, it’s finished and the prequel to MHA
2) Star was used as a device to nerf Shiggy while simultaneously give a realistic reason Japan was abandoned by the rest of the world
3) She also showed during her fight and later through her team, that a single person can actually change the course of the world through helping, inspiring and connecting, as her team decides to help Deku despite the US orders, to honour star. And despite the fact that the US is considering to work with AFO as a quick solution to bring back socioeconomic stability, which is realistic as well. She herself was another kid saved in more ways than one by Allmight.
4) She is also one of the three characters that manages to leave an impression on AFO highlighting his absurd arrogance, but at the same time how OP he is.
5) Her fight was visually stunning and it manages to get you attached in a few chapters.
So she doesn’t suck, in my opinion.

Then the fact that horikoshi goes back on all the damage star does just shows how incompetent he was when writing this part. He should have edited out of the anime and redone this section. Basically plead on his knees that the animation company allow him this change. The fact is star and stripe is never mentioned again. This is like filler but trying to act like it isn’t. Star was an amazing character. Just her power was amazing. That’s why I liken it to the tragedy that is madara. Once kishimoto ended madara he didn’t know what else to do and took a page from the history channel and said “aliens”. Here, when horikoshi nerfs shigaraki he then goes “oh crap, I can’t figure out how he’s going to fight all the superhero’s if he isn’t a infinite regenerating tank so I can pretend it’s not plot armor that has stoped shigaraki from being defeated” so somehow shigaraki gets all his powers back,specifically the regeneration quirks back. He then tries to say “it isn’t as strong as before” and shigaraki is still out here being able to regenerate from being thrown into a black hole and getting a quasar to explode on him. I don’t think star and stripes sucks. I think horikoshi failed here.

Star and stripes battle showed a couple of things. It explained the hesitance of other countries sending aid to Japan. Seeing star lose caused other countries to stop hero's who were already set to go and help, this is due to the risk of losing their heavy hitters, seeing their powers fall into AFOs hands and the risk that if AFO won they would be on bad terms should they need to negotiate.
It also showed that while all might was out of the fight be wasn't a bystander. He was still the symbol of defiance and star embodied that in her final act. The age of the symbol of peace is over. One person cannot bear the weight of the world. As shown by all mights final years as the symbol being largely deception. He was in desperate need of help, but wouldn't let it show outside if a handful of people due to fear of the symbol being lost and panic ensuing.
It also became relevant again later
later in the manga she tears through a huge portion of all for ones quirk stockpile.I don’t think the writing was all that bad. It went to show the scaling of shigaraki. (can’t spell dat) this fight was to show that not only Japan was in danger but the whole. And even if they do something it can’t save/fix everything.

I get that whole thing about needing to touch and know the "identity" of things but lets be honest... that was stupid reason. Never was said that what she ordered could only affect what she touched. She made herself stronger, what keeps her from just saying "i have the power to kill instantly if you try to harm me" or if we go by a less extreme and metaphisical point maybe " this lasers can kill the targer withough missing". If the writer never said a limitation like that then is possible.
Its what happens when you make a charater this strong. Leaving plot holed like this is dangerous.
Also that whole identity crisis was just stupid. Yeah she wasnt tecnicly Shigataki no more but what keeps her from just saying pronoms or being vague like "this guy I touched". Again never said in the manga thats a limitation...

And that was explained as well regarding the perception of things that for non living things like a Rock, she can say the rock since her own perception matters in that case. She was supposed to show how strong Shigaraki has gotten since he went back into hiding. Beating America's number one hero in their first meeting. I think it added a lot to the story, some people just don't pay attention.
Her quirk is too strong. Putting a rule on someone for their heart to stop beating is crazy. The only caveat was that shigaraki wasn’t even shigaraki at that point but a mix of shigaraki and all for one

Those who where reminded about rengoku
Horikoshi ended up following the same route as Takahashi did with InuYasha....kept moving the goalposts regarding EVERY attempt the heroes made to finally outpace Naraku and kill him
Literally ONLY the Wind Scar and Backlash Wave moves InuYasha mastered for Tessaiga where developed and made SOLELY to counteract Naraku and he just got a new power after InuYasha successfully used them on him ONCE
Sesshomaru literally gained a whole new sword whole-clothe alongside regaining his lost arm with an ability TAILOR MADE TO DESTROY HIM AND HIS CHEAP REGENERATION and it was delayed being used on him till literally the final battle
And then theres all the upgrades everyone else got just for the finale: Sango's reforged boomerang, Miroku's resistance to his Wind Tunnel, and Kagome's unlocked Miko powers
All unlocked with numeorus chapters still to go for the final battle and hardly utilized so they can drag out the end

It's about the other side of the coin beeing a hero. It's not enough to show you that it could happen that you die like in almost every scene until now. It's that you can actually die in a heartbeat, even as a top notch hero. She came perfectly great. You can put it up as disaster or whatever you like. But there is a reason behind it.

Her Quirk is more like a Nen skill(hunter hunter skill) than an actual ability that you are born with.
How i see it, he either her character to cement how strong Shiggy is at that point in the story or so help nerf him by taking away some if his quirks (or maybe both) but its lame that he killed off such a cool character so fast

I’m not a writer but wish could’ve have seen more of her. love her back story plus I think majority of the fans didn’t have a problem with her dying and the way she died. It’s about legacy, not necessarily telling us more about hero culture in the west but about how all might has impacted the entire world and how the way he inspires people (one of the thematic through lines of the entire manga) was able to do significant damage to shigi even if it’s not through the main characters
He needed someone to kill off the quirks inside AFO+how the world reacted because he wrote himself into a corner. It’s really silly to send the best USA has to offer for another country’s problem even tho it’s very US-like
On the other side im glad we are having characters just dying for once and not that stupid everyone lived happily ever after and the villains just died. Some people die without reaching theyre potential not everyone is the narrator of the story.

Entire plot is about how the world is in complete disarray and has no idea how to stop shigiraki or all for one except a random hotshot plan cooked up by a ghost the world sending in a hero who’s top tier to their potential death is extremely reasonable the entire world is at stake she also disobeys her commander and calls a super strike down on without proper permission explains her though process the entire time and gives her life to heavily weaken and delay shigi seeing more of her would have been dope but I think the minimal filler and decisiveness reflects America and her own personal beliefs in more ways then people give credit
Even if you ignore the narrative problems with this... Her power literally lets her dictate the battles and Shigaraki is packed with quirks. The possibilities for this fight are endless, but Horikoshi went with "Shigaraki tanks hits, Stars gets his name wrong"

She was a amazing plot device. He built up the villains strength to much and he needed to be nerfed. He didn't just delay him. She weakend him permently

Honestly I wasn’t even that interested in her fight with Shigaraki in the manga. I know they wouldn’t let someone introduced so late be the one to defeat him so I had a feeling she would end up either defeated or dead by the end of the fight. I did enjoy the fight in the anime though, since I hadn’t seen it in a while and only knew the ending
Gotta disagree she was used as a Worf effect which shows how much of a threat Shigaraki is particularly as early in the series he is beaten easily. He was written as getting steadily stronger and this was meant to demonstrate the peak of his strength before the final arc
I don't the character herself sucks, the author just absolutely bombed when it comes to not only her character but failed in regards to expanding the world of heroes that he's created
Her ability is straight up Ichibe's power from bleach but..obviously way toned down, how tf you lose with THAT power
I always thought it weird how she was introduced only to be immediately killed off. She was more of a sacrificial lamb than a character, and that’s sad considering how she could have been introduced earlier into the story. At the very least it would have made her sacrifice all the more meaningful to us readers.

Shigaraki was back with great power not many chapters latter. Oh no he lost some quirks we never saw or probably dont even remembet he had until we saw then in this fight... 😂

they were barely holding it together against him even after he lost some quirks, the point is that him losing quirks saved their asses from what might have been an immediate loss.

Final War Shigaraki is *multiple times stronger* than the Shigaraki Star fought….he should have stayed permanently weakened
Maybe something like, instead of making new Order fight against other quirks….make it damage the AFO quirk specifically. This results in the quirk weakening and only being able to hold a set number of quirks within.

Everything about her was awful. Her introduction, her backstory, and worst of all was her quirk if you can even call it that. That kind of power had no business being in my hero academia and is the reason why she needed to be killed quickly so that it didn't break the series. If she wasn't introduced nothing would have changed.

I stop reading more or less at this point. Thei was the most bullshit fighr I ever saw. You either do it right or dont do it. To make just casually a person that can will everything into existence lose a fight like this and barely affect the story is just bad on a whole new level (yes she did nothing to the story. She caused a minor inconvience to Shigaraky/AFO and died)
As a Anime goers her introduction was really great but I spoiling myself about her. I feel kinda dissapointed if that really happen to her.

Horikoshi failed very early in his vilain writing. Gave all of them some BS "healing" ability that was already old and outdated 30 years ago ( I mean that's what Toryiama ended up falling into starting at cell guys ) and could NOT write a proper way to defeat them besides "Plot".

Idk what everyone here is talking about, she has a OP quirk that is just as powerful as one for all, maybe even more powerful, if all for one got his hands on her quirk then everyone is done for. she may have been killed off a lot sooner than anyone would have hoped but she sure hell made a comeback at all for one, basically beated his ass and got rid of half or even more of his stolen quirks, so that deku and his classmates can have the chance to defeat it. I've seen worst unless deaths for characters and she made a name of herself in the anime from only 2 episodes! yall are crazy for hating on this.
She was just there to show how strong shigaraki was. The fact that all of you got butthurt shows how good he was at getting you somewhat attached in such a short time
Honestly I feel the same haven’t read the manga at all but even in the anime it was so frustrating to see what looked to be such an awesome character simply shunned off in a matter of 2 episodes, such a shame really. I really was thinking after seeing how she starts her interaction with Shigaraki that she could be a top 3 character even just from her aura and sick design and even her quirk New Order which I do understand was kind of busted.
We are probably getting a Stars and Stripes spin off at some point. I’m okay with that. Hopefully they go more in depth with all for one vs one for all and their past fights.

I would rather think this was meant to get us thinking about what characters and quirks could be like in different countries, and not to explain it, this moment of fans discussing it will likely help him make a better story due too the criticism and people theorizing
OR OR, hear me out, Horikoshi used a character who had a close relationship to Japan via their mentor, explaining why she charged ahead of being given orders, in order to development and crisis within the AFO/Shigaraku hybrid and how much has changed since he was incomplete in a way that makes 100% sense. Just because she died doesnt make her a wasted character and if we are gonna devalue and devilve everything that happened to "she only exists to buy them more time", we can literally do that with a bunch of other characters that still exist.
Just saying Horikoshi is a bad writier cause a character did something that makes sense but you wanted them to stay longer. Sorry to burst your bubble but just cause you wanted to see more of her doesnt make her poorly written or erase what actually happened. Also way to intentionally leave out how she also managed to use her quirk to deal a blow to AFO that helped turn the tide for the conflict. Alos how the reason she was "only able to delay them" and not end him is cause of how much the 2 had merged by that point that he wasnt even fully Shigaraku anymore. You know showing how much the villains plan had progressed when it comes to immediate threats. But if thats also bad writing or makes her a plot device then Id assume you think the same of every other character sonce they would under that same logic. "Man Horikoshi's writing for All Might sucks I mean all he was goid for was delaying AFO and then he just loses his power. And pretending like he still has the same importance when he can't do anything is just plot. Star Vs Shiggy was one of my favorite fights in My Hero i was waiting for it to get animated & was so pumped we got it on E2 this season
Wrong. She existed (and died) specifically to show the alienation of Japan. Her death made all of the other countries too afraid to help Japan. Thus forcing the battle between the heroes and the villains. So it didn't delay the fight at all it rushed it. You got it backward.
She wasn't used to make the world bigger at all. She was used to explain why other countries wouldn't help Japan despite the fact that Shigaraki and AFO are ABSOLUTELY Global threats by this point. Then to other countries, if the #1 hero in America couldn't beat Shigaraki (even if she only lost due to an insane coincidentally timed identity crisis on Shigaraki's part) then there was no way the other countries would risk their #1 heroes.
The hero culture wasnt explored because of star.. her death showed that the outside world didn't matter. As her death isolated Japan from all outside help. The series is close to its end by this point world building more from here wouldn't make any sense.
