Looks like i was right as i have watched a few other youtubers doing unboxing videos on their own mystrey boxes and EVERYONE seems to be getting the same 3 kits....thats how i knew what was in the box before you opened it.
your right it dosent and i have just had a look at it and the box seems fine says to me that they have been done before boxing thanks for spotting that
Nothing wrong with any if these kits - I've built the Spit and P-51 and they are nice, straightforward builds, so the more modern Mig is only going to be better. The problem is that Aldi see both the smaller kits as a starter set for £5 each at Christmas, so they are probably sold to Aldi for a couple if pounds a unit. Had I been a kid and receiving a box of kits like at Christmas I would have been ecstatic, but not amazing value
i usually pick up the kits from aldi and lidl as they do them as well but its only at xmas you can get them which is a shame not the greatest value mystery box from airfix and maybe its time someone from hornby/airfix needs to look into making them a bit more of a value
@@yorkshiremanmodels exactly...now dont get me wrong as they are great kits..i have built all 3 (the P-51 twice, this boxing and the starter set with the grey and green R.A.F. camo with the sharks mouth) but it would be nice to see a bit of variety.
Hehe, yeah I suspected the same. Not such a mystery when everyone seems to be getting the same thing in the aircraft box. Anyway enjoyed your unboxing buddy.
Had it been crushed by the courier the outer box would be crushed also and it wasn't. Very poor from Airfix. I haven't bought from them for many years which is a shame as as a kid Airfix kits were my favourites before I got into Matchbox.
Makes me wonder if airfix are deliberately throwing in damaged boxes specifically for mystery boxes as a way of dispersing them out of retail . I'd have complained tbh ...
thought about complaining but seen as the plastic appears undamaged i decided not to honestly wouldnt suprise me if someone working for airfix didnt do it on purpose
I agree and have looked again at the box and it seems fine I cannot see how the airfix boxes could have been damaged unless they was damaged before packing and if that's the case I am shocked someone packed them like that
honestly the airfix kits that have been tooled in the last 10 years are fantastic kits that are as good if not better than a lot of other manufacturers the decals if cartograph are excellent i will admit though anything over 20 years old is usually awful but there is a few good ones still zvezda kits are i have found very similar as the old zvezda can be very poor kits but most of the new stuff is very good only manufacturer i have found that is consistantly bad is revell and most of the community feel the same but you can get some great subjects from revell that are not available from any where else

Funny that the outer box didn't look crushed.

You were very lucky that it was only cosmetic damage to the Airfix boxes. The Mig looks like it could be a great build
i was and i have built a couple of the kits and they where fine
I would buy Tamiya kits👌
I do enjoy tamiya kits but the 1/72 range from airfix is better in my opinion
Tamiya 1/48 aircraft are fantastic especially the newer modern jet kits
Im posting this BEFORE watching as i suspect the contents are Spitfire,Mustang and Mig-17 all in 1/72...if im wrong im wrong....
yea not so "mystery" really

i agree they could only have been crushed before packing
very poor from airfix but i am lucky they are still ok
I too am a "victim" of the crushed box by courier delivery service....thankfully the kit ,Airfix vintage classics DHC Beaver, was fine.
think i was lucky as well with the crushed boxes
@@yorkshiremanmodels you and me both,my friend.
@@yorkshiremanmodels turns out the kit isnt fine...several cracks in both fuselage halves😢
@@jaws666 that's a shame
Can it be repaired or is it beyond use?
@@yorkshiremanmodels i have a very gpod use for it as it is....
Was the outside box damaged, hard to see how the airfix kits could have been damaged inside a packed box like that.
sorry for late reply
no the outside was fine
can only think it happend to them before the packaging was done
@@yorkshiremanmodels ok, no apology necessary. Thanks for info update.

Expensive
It's a saving if you need all the kits
Not really though if you already have 1 of them or don't want all of them
Seems to me the crush was as per the at packaging, externally the box looks sound os why always blame couriers or Post office??

I buy Zvezda 1/72 plane kits. Much better quality and value. Airfix has under-invested for years and the world has moved on.
