I never noticed this before but those boxarts are wierd, most of them either shows the vehicle from extreme, uninteresting angle or obscure the vehicle with smoke or foliage. Seems like bad choice of beauty shots :)
i got the impression of an action shot.. some look fab.. some not so much
Maybe Airfix needs to look at the old Roy Cross box art for inspiration.
I bought the Panther G on e-bay for £30, shortly after I bought the King Tiger for the same price. After I bought them Airfix were selling them for about £36. Price has now gone back to original level. I bought the bundle for £75 (18 months ago), which contained four kits. So similar kits, but still worth the buy if you do not have these kits.

Super selection for a mystery box. Bogey wheel nut house though. Nice savings for the thrill you got. I have a stash of kits tipping the tally to about 300 kits of all subjects of interest. WW2 is one of them. Vehicles are so easy to shelf when built.

I bought the M10 when it came out AND the Tamiya M10 in order to see how Airfix compared to the Tamiya which was being called the kit of the year by modelers at the time. By examining the sprues I could not see any thing that was wrong at all with the Airfix except some parts like the turret ring on the hull would not interchange, but it was so good that I recommended the Airfix to a friend who made the incredible interior hull kit for TMD models! Ive since bought a number of the Airfix 1/35 armor kits plus their British ambulance, Im thinking but I think it was the early Morris. So I definitely recommend Airfix! And you convinced me to buy a mystery box!

Saw this video and thought it’d be a good way to get past “buyers indecision”, and found out that they tell you what you’re getting in the confirmation message. It’s a nice way to start getting a leg up on any research you want to do. (They say that I’m getting the ones you’ve shown, so they haven’t changed in the past week.)

I got a tank bundle from Russia last week and there were loads of pieces broken or missing.
I've just bought a 10 tank 1/35th scale bundle box for £150.00. I can't wait to open it!

the box art is not as good as the 'old school' box art from my youth but it does seem a good way to increase your stash

Remember buying tamiya kits from small fry in wakefield. Tiger. King tiger. Just to mention a few. £3.99 each. Bearing in mind. this was 1984 .used to swap the price tags for something like an armoured car or half track and get the tanks for £1.99.✊

My stash is already up to 25 kits, with a similar number built,so you can tell I'm struggling to hold back, probably like most scale modelling enthusiasts.
"Mystery bundles" is the last thing I want to introduce in my life, especially seeing as I like to build many different types of models and very carefully select the ones that meet my criteria.
Still, I'm a sucker for this content and everyone's different😁
Only 25 kits in your stash??
I'm kinda like you; I have very specific eras and subjects within those eras I'm interested in-- WW II isn't one of them (though occasionally will build some small wheeled vehicles). Getting a bundle like this would be pretty useless.
personallly now i ave them in my stash, if i got in the mood to build one, i have it.. lol

25? I wish. I have close to 300 kits in stash. At 67 I wonder if it's possible to build them all with what's left of my life time. Yet, I still recently got the 1/32 scale Devastator. Buying unknown subjects would be complete chaos. Have fun painting those bogey wheels.

Yes, I figured there are people with huge collections, it's just that I recognize my problem early and try to do something about it :D
Thing is, scale model kits are just a beautiful present to ourselves, beautiful colorful boxes with beautiful things inside, we get lots of gratification from just recieving our "gifts".
And more often than not, the actual kit is not the biggest expense of this hobby.
I got the tank bundle last year that had 3 in it, that was a bit of a rip off, you actually saved around £10 on Web prices, but its a risk if you already have them,this actually seems a better deal

The Hetzer is the old Academy kit, still made, and sold typically £26. As is the M36 at £36. Tiger 1 also £33.00, M10 £30.00. Panther £35.00. Still overall, considering the P&P, it’s still cheaper to buy the Airfix bundle. Quite a bargain!

You get what you pay for. Airfix aircraft (at least the newer ones) are fine kits. Airfix armor, not so much.

I believe that the hetzer is a Academy tool.
It only works out for those in the uk...if you live outside the uk its not worth it....none of these mystrey bundles are

@@MOS6510Models to be honest ots not even their fault..obviouslyy there is the exchange rate plus the postage and now that the UK is no longer part of the E.U. there would be a customs charge on top of it so when you add it all up it would be cheaper to just pick up the kits in a shop here
There all Academy reboxes,‐ tue Hetzer is probably the only decent one of them all!. Also maybe worth checking out what academys prices there normally cheaper buying the academy one!
But academy havent released them in a while..
Aha a chicken next to the box... what else would we expect? Yes, it's a bit of a gamble when the website says at least four kits so let's hope that they keep it at five! NB - the Tiger has decals for Tiger 131, are you tempted to recreate it, along with its battle damage?

I just don’t understand how Airfix is able to with such a straight face commands, such high prices for the model kits when you compare them to other companies like Dragon. Don’t get me wrong. These kits are okay to a certain standard. That is some delusions of grandeur that they actually have. Especially as one of those kits is produced by Academy and sells for much cheaper.

AIrfix prices are much higher than the kits can be purchased on line.

The thing is. They ate teboxes of other kits. Mostky aitfix. They all need extras becayse most of tgese kuts came out in the 90s to about 10 to 15 years ago. Its a good dral if you don't care about what needs to added or the age of the kits. If there was one of their new 35th kits in the box, then it would be worth it. To me anyways.

It's a bargain if... IF... you want those kits or don't care what kits you get.
For those us us fairly passionate and selective about what models we actually buy, then obviously just adding up the value of the kits and subtracting what you paid in no way indicates their real value (these are interesting case studies for economics students!)..
I support Arsenal: if I bought a dozen random football shirts and five were Gunners, that'd be great value. If they were all from the Turkish B-league, it'd be an absolute rip off.
Isn’t that the point of a mystery box? Not knowing what you are gonna get.. hell, people sign up to monthly mystery boxes never knowing what delights they’ll receive.. it’s a business model that works time after time after time.. and Airfix sell a ton of them..

The majority of us who buy mystery boxes don’t really care what we get.. we just see the value.. and I’ve built kits I would never dream of building because it’s just on my shelf looking at me..
Also I trade kits, so monetary value is king.. I’ve got 5 tanks at half price.. probably build two of them.. I’ve already swapped one for a different model that I couldn’t get hold of.
Value is in the eye of the beholder
@@MOS6510Models Not dissing on you old boy, just suggesting some critical thinking is needed to interpret that number in the title. I think most people understand they will be getting some 'slow moving stock', and your vid will be valuable in letting them see an example of what is coming.
Your second last paragraph here explains exactly the way to get the best value. In my country mail costs preclude trade so I was probably unconsciously taking the perspective that what comes out of the box is what I am stuck with.

All re-boxed Academy kits, poor detail and poor build quality for the RRP price, which is proven by Hornby having to sell them off in this way.

I bought this mystery bundle when it was at least 3 kits, I watched a You Tuber review and he got 4 kits, I got 3. I questioned Airfix about this, no reply. My gripe is it should be a specific number as it seems weighed in favour for You Tubers. I bet if I bought it I would only get 4 kits. I believe it to be a con and I would like to hear Airfix's explanation as it leaves a sour taste when you are trying to support a British company.
I disagree, how can they favour youtubers? there is even comments on here saying they have already bought the bundle and got the same 5 kits.. click the link and buy it and if you only get 4 i will send you a kit free of charge.. these bundles are set up to clear their stock..
