- In this video, Mike Pitt goes over how to hit the short-sided chip shot. This shot may seem difficult but Mike breaks it down to make it super simple. This shot requires a open lofted club with a out to in club path in order to pop the golf ball up which lands soft and trickles to the hole.

Love the simple bullet point tips. So much easier to follow than gimmick gankas
Thank you so much for watching and appreciating the hard work Adam and I do to simplify this game for everyone!

Skulling chips 2 days ago and now hitting nice soft shots. Taking it outside and rotating with upper body low left is key! Thanks for the video!
Let’s go!!!!
This did not work UNTIL I remembered this is a body rotation shot, not an arm swing with wrist cock shot. When I tried it like demonstrated in this video, it worked like a charm. thanks, Mike.
Awesome! Extremely helpful!👍
This is so easy to understand. Your step by step explanation is so helpful and to the point. Will try it today. Thank you so much for your videos ❤
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching! This is exactly why I do what I do to try to simplify the game and help more people than ever play better golf and enjoy the world’s greatest game more than ever!

Simplicity is beauty
No doubt about it!
Really like this technique and it's really fun practicing it. Hoping it begins to translate to improved scoring cuz the short game has been killing me lately. I have found that in spite of opening the face a bit, with coming across to a low and left finish, my chips tend to go left
I would make sure your feet aren’t open too much at address. I would check the grip in the club face.
Great video. What is the loft of the club you are using for this shot?
This is such valuable information. I can see immediately what I am doing wrong .
Fantastic! So happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Your short game videos are the 'go to' videos in my opinion, short, concise, simple and effective.
That is so fantastic to hear! I love it! That is exactly what we try to do with all aspects of the game!
Thank you for watching!
You're welcome looking forward to the entire series.@@GolfPitt
This is a perfect fit for my terrible tendency swing outside in! 😂
Hahaha. The silver lining!
Mike- I live in Arizona where this time of year, the dreaded chip shot off dormant Bermuda happens all the time- any additional tips or adjustments? Also, you didn't note that you chipped one of your shots in the hole! Great work and thanks.
Haha. The casual chip in lol 😂
Grain!! Great question!
Get close to the ball
Shaft very upright
Toe of club on ground ball closer to toe
Weight left and make a putting stroke no wrists shallower but still hotting ball first and down.
Ball will come off the toe a little dead so learn to manage distance!
5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ video 🎉

Wow. This works. I got a small chipping target for Christmas. Have it set up about 5 yds. I haven’t made one since I got it. I just hit a few and the hole is about 6” in diameter. Hope it translates to course. lol.
Awesome! I wasn’t doing anything special to hole those chips. The amount of control and consistency you have on a very short high soft shot with this technique is incredible! They just pop right up!
Thank you for watching !
Thanks for this post. I had no idea how to play this shot

Thank you for watching!
Nice tip. I will try. The background music is a little to high tho.
Let us know how it works! Thank you for the feedback on the music. We will definitely be attentive to that next video!
Not sure i agree with the low finish for a high shot. To get more height and softness on landing. Letting the club continue on through helps. The out to in cut feel works well on these short shots. I play them using the bounce. Every time.
You have a great point! This is a specialty shot for when you are short sided right next to the green to a pin that’s cut close to the greens edge… if I had to carry more like 10 yards to a pin cut close to the edge I would definitely be having a shot with a little bit of a higher finish! I will cover the longer high shot soon! Thank you for watching!
Low left keeps the club shallow which in turn adds loft, this method has helped me so much, great under pressure as well.
When do I use the Butterfly grip?
Pretty much any short game shot or pitch! And depending on the person, probably during the full swing!
Thank you for watching !
Two hole outs during a casual filming session!? You’re too good Pitty. Does having the second ball prevent shots coming out of the hosel? Asking for a friend 😅
Your darn right it does Oscar! most people scull and hosel these little chips because they get in on the backswing and swing out and up through the ball. The balll behind the ball prevents that!
What club were you chipping with?
