    Thanks for a great lesson, Mike! This was just a fraction of what we went through that day and even though I’ve been playing for 27 years, everything I learned during our lesson was game changing. If you are thinking about visiting Mike for a lesson, stop and just do it. It’s a great experience and Mike is a true professional who really cares about making sure his students comprehend what he teaches and improve. Definitely the best lesson I’ve ever had!

    Awesome lesson, thank you for sharing! Body landmarks is great instead of guessing and just trying to go fast all the time for me. Have always been stronger than most but after a year of just trying to crush the ball I’m learning finesse and timing is key. The tip of not needing speed/power/turning my hips fully under 150 yards might have unlocked something in my mind!

    • @GolfPitt

      That’s awesome! Yes, they are two very different skills, and speed is very useful and necessary, as well as being able to control your distance inside 150!

    Hi Adam, great lesson! However as a newer golfer. Can you let’s is know what clubs are good choices for these type of shots. I think club choices explain in videos would be super helpful to the viewers.

    • @GolfPitt
      @GolfPitt  4 месяца назад +1

      we can definitely cover some of that, as students of encore lessons, find out really fast club selections, yardages, and intentions, all play a major role and success without any technical changes! New golfer takes time to understand what you can do with these different clubs… kind of like an artist learning to paint with different brushes!

    Mike is the best! Great coach. Question about the setup…on these shots, more of the leaning tower of Pisa feel than the hip bump? At what distance are you making the setup change?

    What wedge do you use for your 30-60-90?

    • @akeofalltrades
      @akeofalltrades 4 месяца назад +3

      In this lesson I was using my 58 degree but I’m guessing that will vary depending on how far you hit your clubs. My personal goal is to learn how to hit those yardages with multiple clubs so I can pick the trajectory and flight appropriate for the situation at hand on the course. Long story short, it doesn’t really matter what you use as long as you can hit those yardages!

    • @GolfPitt
      @GolfPitt  4 месяца назад +2

      boom! Spoken like a true professional Ake! 30yd and 50 yd I’m most likely going to use my 58 degree. I do have a 90 yard 58 shot in my bag, but I would rarely use it, maybe downwind or something. Ake is spot on that you want to have access to the same number with different clubs. In competition my 9 o’clock 54°, would be my 90 yard shot. Normally for a 60 yarder I would use a 58° unless it was a back pin and I wanted to hit a low one and skip it up there. It’s all shot and situation dependent! thanks for watching and the questions! thank you too ake!

    I had no idea you keep things stacked on the front foot and primarily rotate with the upper body all the way out to 165 yards (8 iron for me). Is this purely a result of the narrow stance and hip bump, less weight shifts off to your back foot and it keeps you more on your left side.
    I must have been getting a bit too wide in my mid irons and my ball striking reflects me moving off the ball and ripping with my hips like this student.
