When u paid for a Prince concert ...it was the best for the money u spent...u got everything
Then you were on a purple high for 3 days after! The greatest show on earth!
Especially the One Nite Alone 2002 tour where you often got a sound check, main show and aftershow all on the same ticket
Seriously
@@shielastrong6961 Yep. You had a ticket in the first 10 rows of main show. The first 10 rows were allowed in a couple of hours before for the soundcheck then a ticket to the afterparty/show. Every night was slightly different. But in the case of the Hammersmith Apollo (which is only 5000 seats), One soundcheck was an hour long karaoke session with members of the audience singing and Prince on piano. And the next night they shot a video for Muse 2 the Pharaoh and a few other warm ups and then was an aftershow at the marque club
What star does that these days?
@@scottclark3139 Wow thats amazing ! The last show I saw was in NY when Kim K got wisked off stage . He is so missed
Prince was never afraid of surrounding himself with talent and letting them have their moments. Every band he ever had, every backup singer, every dancer, just excellent.
There is No comparison period ! MJ was a entertainer. PRINCE was the GOAT of musicians. He self taught himself 27 instruments by age 12 . And recorded his first 5 albums all by himself .Writing, producing, engineering, all instruments and singing. PRINCE recording alone = GREAT ALBUM !! That's how WB gave him the largest deal ever at 100 million. While MJ's was 30 mil .PRINCE was a singularity!!!
While is a way better than musician then MJ this ain’t true at all 😂
Prince is the GOAT 100%
@Lyleswl , The only thing that was not true is that his father taught him to play the piano. Everything else was true.
Prince was a beast. Singer, writer, composer, dancer, actor, and master musician. Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, 1999, Little Red Corvette, Erotic City, Diamonds and Pearl's, and many many more both earlier and later in his career. He is truly missed!
Prince is possibly one of the greatest artists of all time. this recital in Germany is perfect. please react to more Prince live videos
Who's better?
Possibly?????????????🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
Name just ONE other person in ALL of human history who ALSO had ALL of his Talents and at HIS Level, Just One.................................
@@bluepeopledonotexistblackp7001 clearly there's none. He's #1
@@Helios601 Did you forget about Michael fucking Jackson? HE is considered the best of all time.
The G.O.A.T to me and mine, wrote his own stuff, preformed EVERY INSTRUMENT on his albums, he had bands as he could not do that on stage lol. No need to diss MJ or anyone else, but for us Music starts and ends with the Purple One. We will NEVER see his like again. An supposed to be over 8000 to 10000 songs finished in his vault..... jus amazing.... he LIVED music
I love seeing MJ fans watching Prince for the first time and feel scared that they're seeing a performer greater than him.
😂 yep! ☔💜PRINCE💜☔
💎⚪💎⚪💜⚪💎⚪💎
🎼☔💜PRINCE💜☔🎼
💎⚪💎⚪💜⚪💎⚪💎
That comment is so true💜💜💜💜
Fuck off can you not compare them. And in my opinion michael is still the better performer.
@ 4:48 he's just then realizing Prince is doing all those splits and spins in 3-inch high-heeled boots 😁
MJ would perform for the audience as a presentation of his well crafted show with limited crowd interaction. Prince was more interactive with the crowd and showcased raw musicianship. Both were untouchable
@Tony Apart from TV performances, he almost never lip-synced, since the early 70s when he was only a kid. The only exception was the HIStory Tour in 1996-1997
@Tony nigga Michael had inflamed lungs he had to lip sync
@Francisco Hey Francisco, the HIStory Tour where he lipsynked 90% of the concert is not an exception, even if it was the worst. The Dangerous Tour was at least 40% lipsynked (Jam, Smooth Criminal, Black or White, Will You Be There, The Way You Make Me Feel, Heal The World, Man In The mirror...) and even the second leg of the Bad Tour had a few lipsynked songs (The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal, Man In The Mirror). The last full live concert he did was in 1987. Then he became a caricature of himself.
@@3ver4fter53I didn't mean to say HIStory was the only exception - The point I'm trying to make is that you only get the sense that he lipsynced a lot when you solely pay attention to his later career (mostly 1996-2002), but looking at the full picture, overuse of lipsync was only a problem in a relatively small part of his life:
His live career before becoming a solo artist is much bigger than what people realise. As a result, lipsynced performances only make up for around 20% of his live career as a whole. In that perspective, yes, HIStory was an exception. Anyways, I personally believe lipsync is acceptable to a certain extent when you're talking about an artist with dance routines as complex as his. However, we both can agree he took it way too far on HIStory. I believe I didn't get my point across properly earlier, sorry about that.
@@francisco3283 "The only exception was the HIStory Tour in 1996-1997"... "I didn't mean to say HIStory was the only exception"... Well, ok...
Maybe you may ask yourself why you feel the need to lie to defend Michael Jackson as an artist. As an adult, he considered himself a showman, a performer, a magician, rather that a live artist. Why do you spend so much energy trying to make people believe lipsynking was an exception? It was not. Everybody knows where he comes from, you don't need to prove anything about his early days. The thing is, from 1970 to 1984, all his tours were live, and from 1988 to 2002, well it was another story. If he had felt like a live artist, he would have evolved as such with age, replacing some of his dancing routines by other things, reinvening his stage approach, his songs arrangements... That's not who he was. He said it himself, he did not like to tour. Therefore he didn't put any effort to reinvent himself anymore. He was stuck in this character he invented. All his live tricks were already there from the 1981 Triumph Tour with his brothers. From then on, he only recycled his old numbers and sang the same songs in the same order, with the exact same choreography, over and over. In my opinion that was not just a choice, that was the sign of him letting down, as an artist and as a human being.
Seeing Prince live was the best experience of my life!!!
Ure actually RIGHT! Michael said he HATED touring and performing whereas prince LOVED it! Prince loved it cuz he wrote, produced, arranged and played all the instruments on his songs and taught the band how to olay them
Perfect expression when watching Prince for the first time at 4:50
Please do Prince singing Motherless Child. It will blow you away how he controls the band and the audience as if he were a puppeteer!
The energy in that room is CRAZY.
Prince has always CRUSHED IT!!! Anyone who missed His Royal Purpleness, recognize now how bad he truly was. Housequake was just the tip of the iceberg. #HisnameisPrince
Prince , da Greatest Artist of All time !
(popular music)
See the original housequake is incredible. Sigh o times is great album
Prince concert can't be touched...he was excellent and awesome
watch ANY live Prince concert, its always a production! He WAS the GREATEST TALENT of our lifetime. Nothing compares to Prince. All REAL musicians today have been influenced by Prince.
I think you should look up prince and shelia e love bazaar live. All you’ll need to understand the prince and the way he controls the band and showmanship
If you going to recommend a track get the title spelling correct A Love Bizarre, no offence just saying 😀
@@purplehead9511 well know it all...I spelled it that way because the video that used be uploaded on RUclips that I was referring to was spelled the way I typed it so thanks but no thanks sis for your recommendation...
@@purplehead9511 if you’re going to make a recommendation to me then you should use proper English. It’s not “if you going to” it’s if you’re...no offense 😁
My favorite is joy in repetition
I was in the audience that night. It was the best damned show ever. And ive seen a lot of Prince shows and lots of other acts.
Dats the man Prince is da G.O.A.T💜💜 he can do it all🎶🎶💃🏻💃🏻
Hey man you gotta check Prince’s performance of this same funk classic, “Housequake” on the Sign O the Times movie in 1987, he cut up worst than this!!!!!!!!
Yeah, disappointed this wasn't the Sign O The Times version.... that was the definitive version!
FINALLY!!!! A non Purple Rain reaction!!! Please react to his 1991 performance at the Special Olympics with his band The New Power Generation!!!!
Ikr!!! Purple rain wasnt his only song gees
Prince was both a real musician and real entertainer no lip syncing just real ....Michael Jackson did a lot of lip syncing and he was not a musician he was just an entertainer that had 30 producers whereas Prince produced everything himself
Prince was a genius. He wrote, composed, produced and played 27 instruments. He could go from playing an electrifying gig to playing 3 or 4 hours at the after party. Prince can’t be categorised, he was his own category 💜
Mj was mainstream- he had a lot of backing, commercials, advertising. Prince would Not comply with the industry, rarely gave interviews, went against the grain- which is why we’re also Mj fans. Mj was put front and center in the Media and was a great performer. Prince did things his way, media bashed him- called him gay/weird, Prince DID NOT CARE. His real fans followed his work regardless and he remains icon, legendary and incomparable 💜🙏🏼🙌🏼
Every note played at a Prince concert or on a Prince recording is a Prince note; he wrote everything and he played every instrument; his voice developed beautifully through the years. And he could dance. He really was All-In.
That expression on your face at 4:50 just says it all. A critic once wrote that "Prince was the hardest working man in the biz " and you see why. Plus he wrote , produced, and directed this show: "Dortmund , Germany , Lovesexy87-88 Tour" if you can watch the whole show, and there are MANY highlights, but it was downright incredible -- he was amazing.
My first Prince concert I attended was in 1980 in Lakeland, FL. The Time opened. The last was around 2012 in Boston. I've seen a lot of performers and bands over the years but Prince and whatever iteration of his band was the best live shows I have ever seen, bar none. Prince got me through my good times and sure as heck go me through my dark times. My wife and I had our final wedding dance to Adore in 1999. To your ? He was always "Lit". He was very audience inclusive. We were his background singers throughout the show. They were a dance party/sing-a-long. I'd like to encourage you to go back the beginning....."Soft and Wet". Spoiler....he arranged, produced, composed, wrote, played every instrument and sang every note on this one and his next two...
damn I love Prince so much
At the point of the song at 6:24 when he does it live he calls an audible and tells the band how many 4 bar breaks/hits to do. Here at 6:24 you can see him thrown up both hands telling the band "hit me 10x" (10 fingers)---On this song I've seen him do 5 7, I think he decides in the moment depending on the vibe and where he is will the dance flow. Pure genius.
Man......
Housequake is a whole MOOD.
One of my all-time favorites.
And, yes, he was very "Let's Fucking Go".
The look on your face looking at this!!!!!!!!!!!😁😂😀 His splits are crazy!!!!!!!!!!!
no one could touch him live. he once played 31 nights in london(compensation for sign of the time cancellatin), and i had tickets for 30. every night was different. some of the best 2 months of my life
Prince wrote and produced 95 percent of his music. And i mean every instrument. This is what sets prince apart from mj. To end the arguement mj could never b prince and prince could never be mj. And they loved and envy each other.
JUST gonna say that on April 21 2016 the entire globe turned PURPLE that night all over the world, we lost the greatest!
He did that!🥰😍🔥😘🔥😘🔥😘❤️🎉💕🎉😍😍🥰🔥
MJ was like more "theatrical" but Prince was LIVE
Thanx for reacting to prince..
I got a few prince videos that I would like to suggest, and get your reaction to.
I have on a few occasions, watched these on repeat.
Prince .. DMSR.. Live in Detroit, 2004, Musicology Tour,
and/Or
Prince ... 1+1+1=3.. Live at the Aladdin, Las Vegas, 12/15/2002
and/or
Prince... Motherless Child (Live)
(I’m dying to hear more reactions of Prince performing Live, that’s not the Super Bowl)
Thanx
Cosign!
I 3rd that
Don't forget the Nude Tour in Spain
The master, the moves, the band,...growing back in the 80's and 90's you were a MJ fan or a Prince fan....after seeing Purple Rain the movie...that was it for me....his lyrics are raw, true sexual...prince 4 ever!
Prince, produced, arranged, performed, and composed 99% of his music. He mastered 20 instruments by the time he was 14, has created classical music, jazz, hip hop, metal, rock, blues, country, pop, r&b, funk and fusions of all genre's. He is also the first artist to sale his music online, which opened the doors for artists to create online, he also was the first who fought the industry for his music masters and won the fight before his passing, which opened other artists to fight for ownership of their work. Prince is the best to ever do it man, and in my opinion cannot be touched by anyone. That being said if we're talking about a fun debate, MJ for me is 2nd to Prince. Prince is my number one artist. Great reaction dude, hope u react to more Prince
That mic work! Those splits! Those spins!! IN THOSE HEELS!!! come on!!
I saw this tour - Lovesexy - in college in the late 80s!! Was blessed to see him live two other times in the 90s. Prince was another level of musical genius!!
Get that Sign O the Times concert version man.....he is so good man
You ought to react to Prince's "1999" era music videos which were all shot on the same sound stage (and probably the same day) but couldn't be more different from each other if they tried. They show just how versatile Prince was.
They are:
1999
Let's pretend we're Married
Automatic
Little Red Corvette
Always puts a smile on my face when the young folks embrace Prince. Much respect, bro.
Hello from Australia brother, Michael Jackson was a great singer but all hype. Prince played 20 different instruments, could dance his ass off, could sing high and low, wrote songs for other artists. Wrote, produced and directed. Dude was the greatest!
It was more than 20 instruments
No 27 instruments !!!
Lightning and thunder . They both made the perfect storm .
Prince was bad in his gifted way ,and also Michael . Two different type phenomenal Entertainers. in a video ,after MJ's death;. Prince said MJ was a genius. Michael was the greatest entertainer that ever lived! He mastered all type dancing ,even tap dancing. I didn't know MJ tap danced till after he died. Fred Astaire,James Brown praised MJ. His talent, his heart was loved by many all over the world.May they both Riparadise ❤️💜
@@elisageorge1798 bull.. he never said that. Prince felt sorry and said he was a genius that is true, but never the words that you use. The link between Fred Astaire and Michael Jackson was because of the Smooth Criminal video from novembet 1988, well Fred died in 1987. I'm pretty sure that Fred was pretty silent at that time.

Any concert footage you can find a Prince is better than any of his videos. No one ever, ever ruled the stage like he did.
You should feel guilty :) The man is a bad ass. #PrinceDaGOAT There are a lot of people who don't like Prince because a lot of his songs are sexual where as most of Mike's songs are clean. However, unlike Mike, Prince could play multiple instruments, write music, write lyrics, produce, engineer and compose music, did his own choreography, etc. He also wrote songs for other artists and created multiple bands, i.e. The Time, The Family, Vanity 6, etc. Watch some videos of people who worked with him like Jimmie Jam and Terry Lewis. As a beginner I'd recommend this sequential album order: Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Parade, Sign O' the Times, Lovesexy. After those any of his other albums.
Not to discredit you but Mj could write his own songs and could definitely make his own choreography
Crazy production!
what you tryin to say is Prince was FUNKY!! Actually, Prince was absolutely everything!!
Exciting! I didn't know this Housequake performance! But the original version of Rockumentary Sign'O'The Times (1986) remains unbeatable, as a synthesis of the expansive and contagious energy that a performance by Prince can offer its audience. It will take a while for another artist so complete to emerge!
Please react to Prince at Montreux Jazz festival in 2013: 'she's always in my hair'

MY FAVOURITE
You'll love Prince. Having grown up with both Prince and MJ. Other than the facts that they were both young, both black and both male the comparison stops there. They drove in their own lanes and they were both astronomical at what they did. You'll be hooked. I guarantee it!
People also forget every instrument Prince touched he mastered. Could Michael Jackson even play one instrument?
The Lovesexy tour was fantastic. I think this video was taken from the Dortmund Germany show. I was lucky enough to see Prince twice in London 1990 at Wembley and again in 2007 at the London O2. Memories that will stay with me forever
He’s influenced some too, like Pharrel, Listen to Robin Thicke- Wanna Love you Girl,
Hey Grasshopper, you are missing a part of the context. Everyone in the audience has listened to the album version. Sure you get this great live experience. I think you miss out since you haven't listened to the foundation (album version) from which he builds this electrical live version off from.
No one sound would adequately define any artist, let alone a powerhouse of a genius such as him. He has so many incarnations through his career that you have to ride with him through it all to understand where he's at in the moment.
His chameleon transformations kept him fresh and his audience engaged, guessing and entertained!
His catalog of music is no joke! And I'm just counting the music he has released! He has a mountain of music in a vault that he hasn't released! Nobody knows how much music is there!
One thing is for sure, he has made us all better because of the timelessness he's put into creating his musical legacy. One of a consummate genius multi-instrumrntalist musician, writer, producer and prolific singer!
MJ and Prince actually respected each other alot. Their connection as "children" of the God-father of Soul, the immortal James Brown!
There's a video where they al appear on the same stage at a JB concert! That's a treasure in itself.
There is no comparison to MJ and Prince. Prince does it all. Produces, writes, plays all instruments, dance etc etc. His first album he produced, sand and did all instruments alone.
Yooo I'm so excited for you to dive into more Prince. "The Ride" "joy in repetition" live versions of course. "American woman" with Lenny Kravitz
This song right here back in the day was a jam house quake
MJ was pop. Prince was all about the funk ya'll. Love me some funk.
Prince and MJ were two different artist.Princes concerts were always amazing .From the band to the dances to him playing guitar and other instruments Michaels shows were more theatrical.
Check out his performance of Shhhh... live in I believe 2011. He's wearing black hat and black suit.
I always viewed MJ and Prince as two sides of the same coin. Tremendous entertainers, but with Prince, he can go from piano, drums, and guitar in the same song. Total musician and fellow musicians knew and know this! He had a killer falsetto and could rock with the best guitarists in the world. Been to three of his concerts and he was truly the greatest artist I have seen in my lifetime!
Prince is RAW!!!! 😍
Baby get ready put your seat belt on ..he so great his double album 1999 is nominated for a grammy and he is gone and 1999 was out in the 80's who can do that ?
Watch a performance also showing his awesome musicianship
Housequake Is a jam and in my opinion Prince and MJ are not comparable. I love both but they are very different.
it's never too late to evolve
Like your reaction.
MJ came out in the 60s and developed his own style in the west coast until his death.
Prince came out in the late 70s and developed his own style in the midwest until his death.
Both of them were great entertainers in their own way with different styles in all areas. Both R.I.P.
Then Terence Trent D'arby came out in the 80s and developed his own style. But was denounced by Hollywood elites because by the 80s MJ and Prince was at the top of their game. Hollywood elites didn't want Terence Trent D'arby in the game. The elites felt Terence was similar to Prince and they didn't need another Prince. Hollywood elites forced Terence out of United State.
Terence been in the UK every since.

🔮I remember this particular TOUR LIVE like so many others...of his TOURS 🎼PRINCE ROGERS NELSON🎶 never got the recognition that the deserve by the ENTERTAINMENT industry regarding MICHAEL JACKSON being PRINCE was too REAL to RAW for the narrative of BLACKNESS amongst the critics in the industry.
Please check out more of Prince's live performances. If you watch from beginning to end they each tell a story. Start with SOTT (Sign of the Times concert) and LoveSexy tour. Both will blow you away!!!! Stay 💜💜💜💜💜Also check out the video Prince's Best Dance Breaks!
Also Prince wasn't as marketable bc he was a mix of things and not s cookie cutter. He was a real musician. Music loves love MJ. Music lovers adore Prince tho.
Yo bro.trust.listen to his hundreds of bootlegs or watch his gigs 3rdeyegirl at like Montreux jazz Fest on rock night.he will blow your mind.invest in prince's love ,you won't regret it.the most soulfull guy that existed and seriously talented.even the best looked in awe.
September 9th,1988.Dortmund/Westfalenhalle/Germany.I was there!
You need to watch the version he did on The Sign O Times movie for more and better dance moves. One review said, "He makes Michael Jackson look nailed to the floor".
You need to see the performance of Housequake from the Sign O The Times concert.
The best concert I've ever been to 💜💜💜💜💜💜❤️
ps please watch the rest of the Lovesexy 88 - you won't regret it!
This was my parents SONG lmao. All the grown ups knew about the Quake.
"Does anybody know about the quake?" "We do" "Reallay? Shut up already! Damn...HOUSEQUAKE
You ever see MJ do the splits. This dude kilz it on so many levels
Check out forever in my life live version and a beautiful night live version ❤❤❤
You should listen to the album version of Housequake as well...along with Sign O' The Times.
Also, Hot Thing from the "Sign O' The Times" movie...hell, I could keep going for about 4 hours lol.
This is one of my favorites. Live let's go! 612!
Watch some documentaries on prince and you will understand he was a genius
prince was savage, u should react to its gonna be a beautiful night from the sign o the times concert
I saw that concert it was Fiiiirrreeee
This leads into a medley of songs that build up to a ridiculous climax, maybe the best 10 minutes of any of his shows.
Old Man Best Welcome to MN. yes you just barley scratch the surface of prince music history from 77' to 2016. If you want a quicker history on Prince there are documentarys on him on youtube If my memories is right he has 33 lps. If you want to know about his early yrs. before he went solo he was in the group 94 East - Just another sucker, His 1st local hit was Soft & wet. You got a lot of listening of songs & viewing videos, concert videos + 3 movies to do if you want to check out about the Mn music legend/genius R.I.P. Here are some Artists Prince help to get there start: The Time, Vanity 6, Apolonia 6, Mazarati, The Family, Shellia E. Then your bigger challenge is Mn music artists Yes there is more than Prince in Mn. Music History. This will help you find out, go on line to Minnesota music seen or Minnesota music history. You will be stunned how far Mn. music goes back before Prince & today. Hear a taste of Mn artists: Bob Dillon, Little River Band, The Time with legendary producers/song writers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Lips Inc. The Jets, Sound of Blackness, Sue Ann Carwell, Next, Mint Condition, Lo -Key, Centerfold there is so much more. Solo success after The Time, The Revolution & The New Power Generation: Morris Day, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Jesse Johnson, Alexander O;neal Andre Cymone, Wendy & Lisa, Brown Mark. In hip hop 1st was IRM Crew, Atmosphere/Slug, Brother Ali, Prof, Grieves, Style Posse & there are others. Mn is a melting pot of music it's not just what you see on this list but a lot more from genres & style like: rock, jazz, blues, underground hip hop, country, punk, new wave, folk, polka. Pretty much this will keep you busy if you choose. Enjoy.
First, stop comparing Prince to MJ. Prince is a force of his own, a horse in his race. He was unique. I attended one of his shows back in the day, and all I could say is wow! By the way, it was the, "Love Sexy Tour"
Man I became a new subscriber just because you did a prince thing Prince was the s*** and in all genres that dude killed it all the time him and Michael you ever look on RUclips there's some crazy stories about them too but he respected him they said that Prince locked himself up in the room for about a week when he died they said they asked Prince what did you think about Michael Jackson he said he was a genius he said what do you think about Janet sister of a genius I thought that was so funny
Jajaja yeah. The MJ/Prince "camps" were real. I have always been in Prince's corner. Back when people brawled over what really mattered. Lolol
When MJ died I said "when Prince dies, THAT will be a tragedy."
Welcome to the FUNKSIDE!!! Sit back and let your mind be blown💜

He had some good weight or size on him there. Prince loved James Brown Bob Marley Larry Graham
Go and watch the sign of the times DVD Blu ray. Get ready to be blown apart.
Im sure you know more than Purple Rain. There really wasn't an MJ Prince debate. That was the public . They're 2 different artists. They just blew up at the sane time
You need to watch the version from the Sign O' the Times concert movie. It's even better if you can believe that
Have you been to Bunker's on a Monday night for Dr. Mambo's Combo? They play every Monday. Michael Bland, who played drums with Prince for awhile, plays in Mambo's Combo. Well worth checking out if you want a healthy dose of Minneapolis music.
