@@mlb235nyc it's funny you mentioned that, I remember seeing him do that from the front. His stage set at that time was designed with staircases on either side that led to platforms in the front on either side but also to a raised walkway above and behind the drums that he kept going up to, so he could interact with the people that were sitting behind the stage. That was a new thing back then that they only started doing for the really big artist that would sell like 48 thousand tickets in on hour, that is, selling the seats behind the stage, people knew they would be not the best seats but didn't care, just as long as they could go. Actually he was a more talented than mozart. Mozart is only given credit for playing roughly 5 to 7 instruments. Prince played 27 + instruments. He might not be the greatest guitarists of all time are the greatest singer of all time but no one can deny that he is the greatest musician that ever was. Period. It is said that if he released a new album every month it would still take more than 20 years to release all the music in his vault that he himself wrote. He didn't just write for himself he wrote for a ton of other artists in many genres but his favorite thing to do was to write for the ladies.
@@enricaalbaro1490 I Love Prince and recognize that he was incredibly talented, but comparing him to Mozart and saying he was more talented is kind of silly. Mozart was composing music when he was 5 years old and completed his first symphony at age 8. He didn't write arrangements for a 4 piece band, he wrote concertos, operas, and symphony arrangements. He died at 35 and his music is being played and celebrated over 200 years after his death. He is simply one of the greatest and most influential classical composers of all time - defininately top 3 alongside Bach and Beethoven. Prince was a pop star with a lot of talent. Mozart wrote "The Marriage of FIgaro" and "The Magic Flute." Prince wrote "Darling Nicky" and "Purple Rain." Comparing the two in terms of talent is lunacy.
@@darrencarter9812 Though I am silly at times I don't think that this is one of them. Prince wrote way more than just pop songs and way more than just for himself. He wrote many many songs for different artists, to include Kenny Rogers. It's estimated that if all of the music from his vault was released at the rate of several albums a year, it would still take decades to exhaust the vault! It is true that Prince was not a child prodigy; he was however a teen prodigy (completely self-taught). He got his first record contract at like 16 or 17. Now there hasn't been a couple of centuries so I can't say how influential and appreciated his music will be a few centuries in the future. But I think if humans still walk the Earth or the space station then it very well might be the case. My comment wasn't made to minimize Mozart's achievements. It was made to illustrate how diverse, talented, and lesser known Prince talents are.
I’m a 70yr old white girl, welcome to my generation, it was a BLAST! While watching you watch Prince I laughed and cried, (literally, at your reactions, &bcuz he is missed). He was a musical genius but then there were so many more genius’s from the late 60’s to the late 80’s, a phenomena never to happen again, sadly.
Prince will live on when you youngsters realize what he brought to the world. And keep his music alive. I miss Prince so much.😢 And I'm a 78 year old white woman.
I'm 41 and the countless memories I have of singing and dancing to Prince with my mom through my childhood makes me smile, laugh, and cry all at the same time. PriNce was an absolute MONSTER!!! I mean monster in the most complementary way possible. Monster as in he was an enormous gift from God to all of us. He's a monster that although he's no longer here physically, his soul and spirit will never be defeated and will never disappear!!!
I'm a 70 yr old white guy. Do you have any idea of how heart warming it is to see the Gen Z kids (lol - my grandkids) appreciate the kind of musical experience we were exposed to in the 80's?!? OMG, all the human energy and joy and FUN that just blasted from the music of the 80's.... And Prince led the pack...:-) I saw him a couple of times in concert and baby. lemme tell ya - Baby, I'm STILL a star, 30 years on..:-)! We ALL are, still and forever...:-) BTW - I had the BIGGEST crush on Sheila E...🙂
I'm slightly younger (56), but my biggest regret in life is I never got to see him live in concert. WhenI was 15, he was on tour with Rick James and The Dazz Band and were coming to Colorado Springs--the tickets were only $5. My mom didn't like Prince and wouldn't let me go😂 I've loved him since I was 11 and heard "I Wanna Be Your Lover".
@@thatonegirlelaine Da'yum, that would have been a helluva concert! Unfortunately, I never got to see him, either. He was #1 on my Bucket list, but he was never playing anywhere near where I lived and I couldn't afford to fly to another city to see him. My daughter, however, being raised on Prince from my womb, onward (lol), DID have the opportunity to see him twice in concert, so I experienced him vicariously, through her!! An avid concert-goer, she said his were in a whole league of their own. RIP Prince 💜🙏
Prince was a pure artist. Played every instrument you can imagine. Pure entertainer. Wrote ALL his music. Feminine and purely male at the same time. No one like Prince ever. Soooooooo sad his like was taken by big pharma.😢 He is truly missed.
I consider it a profound blessing to be old enough to have had his “golden decade” align perfectly with my junior high, high school, and college periods (1982-1992). The quality and sheer *quantity* of albums he released during that decade is unparalleled in music history. 10 albums in 10 years. The soundtrack of my youth. The day he died was the day part of my heart died. #Prince4Ever @JayFlex
Pink Floyd played the final notes of Purple Rain in their live show, turned the stage lights purple. (and I can hear Gen-Z-kid go, Pink WHO?? Lol! Down the rabbit hole you go!)

This was a nice warm up for his 2007 Superbowl Halftime show when he did Purple Rain while it was pouring down, the absolute best halftime I ever saw in my 75 years. And his agents and safety people were losing it. What an artist and performer he was.
Well, sadly we experienced in Buenos Aires (Argentina) the only time he disappointed the audience. We learned after that he was pissed off with the local organizer for not throwing him a party, something that was stipulated on the contract, so he only played 75 minutes, the minimum by contract 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️. It was only a miracle that the over excited, eager to witness the unstoppable genius audience didn't destroy the stadium. At that time we were shown videos of his almost 3 hours long , incredible shows, so we expected something like that but got something that looked like a soundcheck, very sad. Still, we love and miss him 🙏🏻. 👍🏻👋🏻
You've just witnessed one of the greatest artists, writers, producers, arrangers, composers, and guitarists of all time, young fella. We love Gen Z. We need you to look back and see where you came from
His death damn near broke me. I mourned this man worse than my own grandmother. But it was OK because she would have understood ..she and my stepmom enabled my prince obsession. I can’t even listen to him anymore. I had to start listening to heavy metal in order to heal. Sad but true.
2016 was a brutal year. In January we lost Bowie. Then a short time later we lost Prince. And then in December we lost George Michael. And there were many more as well. RIP to them all. ♥
Leonard Cohen as well. Maurice White of EW&F. Glenn Frye. What a horrid year. In 2017 I thought there is no way it could go worse than '16. Ha. Tom Petty. Chris Cornell. Glen Campbell. Whole new meaning to " the hits keep coming."
Co-signed! My favorite band ever is EWF, their founder & leader, Maurice White transitioned Feb 4th of 2016. I had just lost my Moms in Dec 2015, still raw & hurting & upon leaving work, one of my sisters texted me about MW’s passing. I just laid my head on the dashboard & sobbed my heart out, it was that devastating for me. For SO many of us, music is our life line, our world. These wonderful artists made it much brighter and more beautiful. Respect.🙏🏽
Prince never stopped, he was very prolific. He wrote hundreds and hundreds of songs, most of which have yet to be released. He played every instrument on his recordings, and used his bands for live performances. A musical genius that we rarely see. I am grateful to have grown up listening to him in the 80s. My favorite artist. Thanks for reacting to him!
I realized how blessed the world was to experience this man's genius and how much he's missed when I watched his cover of Creep at Coachella. ASE' Prince💖🙏🏾🕊💫

Prince surpassed so many in music. His energy, voice, talent... you should look unto WHO he was, and what he did to change many things, on many levels. He could play something like 26 different instruments. Such an unbelievable talent. I loved him from day 1. So glad I grew up, and didnt miss the phenom named Prince. He exposed a ton of crap and still came out on top. He was truly a force to be reckoned with, and still is. He is misses beyond expression. A huge loss to the world.
I promise you’ve heard a Prince song. He was a prolific songwriter and often sold songs to people who he thought were talents. His shows were energetic and full of all kinds of different styles and instruments. He sang, danced, played piano, and could shred a guitar. He changed the way people expected to get in a concert and unlike most men he hired many talented women musicians which I always respected. He as our 20th century American Motzart. Keep checking out his music. He was talented and unique. Born to be a musician. Best football halftime show ever.
If you want a Prince performance- Super Bowl half time show!!!! It’s a good mix of his songs, it shows his stage performance. One of the best half time shows you’ll ever see.
Thank you to whoever introduced Prince to you! Great reaction! Prince was a master musician and entertainer. He has a massive catalog so enjoy the journey but bring your energy!!!
Ha ha it was me who suggested Prince and I did advise of him being a multi instrumentalist and doing small private shows after his concerts. I thought this captured his awesomeness xx

Yes.... and it came out in the 80s also.... not knowing that Y2K fears would put another reason to party like 1999 might have had global computers crashing if the fix was not in for them to change to 2000..... of course that crash did not happen.
What does Prince, MJ, Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Madonna, Justin Bieber . . . All have in COMMON? They all were born in the Year of the Dog 🐺 People born 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018 tend to be very energetic, a certain level of charisma, love to be the center of attention, and a great memory - and have the tendency to be great singers🎙️ #GG33Academy 🍊
Gen-X here… welcome 2 the Prince Experience. He played all the instruments (Guitar, Bass, Keys, Drums, Sax, etc) on his debut album and over his prolific career wrote and performed rock, funk, jazz, hip hop, and so many genres that you could spend a month reacting to his tracks and not even scratch the surface. He performed the greatest superbowl halftime show ever (in the rain), and many guitarists didn’t realize how good he was until his Rock and Roll hall of fame performance. If you watch the live performance from Sign O The Times (Beautiful Night) when Sheila E gets up from the drums to perform a rap, he takes over on drums. Even years after his passing we are still uncovering his genius as he left THOUSANDS of unreleased tracks in his vault. ☮️❤️🎶
Long live the PRINCE, 10 octave voice, played multiple instruments...Was privileged to see him in 1988 wembley stadium London 'Love sexy tour' OUTSTANDING 🙏🏼 Human, soul, performer 💯.. Another body gone under bizarre circumstances 🙏🏼. Apologies I don't want his brilliance overshadowed... He's forever my lifeline,my go too, my daily reprieve ✌🏼.....
As a fellow Gen Zer i am the hugest Prince fan in the world, he is certainly in my top 3 artists. Along with Kendrick, Ariana Grande & Utada Hikaru. Prince will keep surprising you btw the man played over 21 instruments, produced, wrote, performed, arranged all his music. Prince is also a great rapper as well. Get off, Sexy M.F., Facedown, NOW, are just a few best examples. He is our Mozart. LOVE from Kyoto Japan 🤗
You have just witnessed the best and most talented live performer of all time. This is one of many incredible appearances. It's nice to see young people discovering Prince. He is the Mozart of our generation! A real Genius! Great reaction👍🏾
I was lucky enough to see him live 3 times, the man and his bands were truly amazing. There is nothing like a dark arena and the first chords of Purple Rain playing. The woman on guitar was Wendy Melvoin, one half of the duo Wendy and Lisa, Lisa played keyboards. The percussionist is Sheila E, he himself played 27 instruments.
They both borrowed their moves from James brown but added their own personal touches. Prince was one of a kind! Keep watching his videos and you’ll be amazed
Prince's Halftime show has set the bar above ALL OTHERS. A close second is his guitar solo inducting George Harrison into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Be sure to look for the newer extended cut
So glad you picked a live performance, he SLAYED and often in his hometown would play for 4 hours, then go to the club, then go to his house/studio and he'd have a pancake breakfast for fans in the morning! He could play almost any instrument, wrote his own lyrics, composed his own songs, was the best guitarist - watch his performance at the memorial for George HArrison - So proud of our Minnesota Boy.
He was only 5'4" but he toward over all of his peers. I bought his first album "Dirty Mind" back in 1980 and saw him live at the Charlotte Coliseum in "81" I'd never seen or heard anything like them. He passed in 2016, and the world is a much bleaker place. No lip-syncing, no auto-tune, just a natural talent!
An excellent example of his showmanship, built on the legacy of James Brown and other greats. I hope you will keep going on this Prince journey; he was incredible.
Prince was a few months older than I am. His father was a musical genius. With such DNA, Prince naturally gravitated towards music. Sadly, his home life wasn't great. Music became his escape. Music set his mind and heart free to simply be "Prince," with no labels or restrictions. We grew up with original musical geniuses like B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, Little Richard, James Brown, Little Richard and Stevie Wonder. The path of extraordinary Black musicians had already been laid. Prince, combined all of their styles then brought to the world a 28 instrument playing musical maestro who could also write, compose, produce, dance, sing and entertain on an extraordinary virtuoso-level. No one will ever come close to exhibiting the God-given talents of Prince. Rest in peace, Mr. Nelson. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 You are beloved and missed. 💜💜💜💜
Prince was not only an entertainer, but he was an athlete. You kind of have to be if you are a touring musician. I had the honor to see Prince live in 1985 and in 2002. He was a God, no other way to explain him.
After a concert like this, Prince would perform an after show. We had Prince, MJ, Whitney--an incredible time in American music. Do yourself a favor and watch the Sign 'o The Times concert video. It's unparalleled.
Agreed!! These kids think that they can sit in the basement with a computer and “make music” NOPE. JUST NO!! You have to be REAL!! And have REAL musical talent and an actual Band playing with you!! 🎉 Truth.❤
All his musical contemporaries looked up to him because he was a beast on bass, guitar, drums, piano and keyboards. He produced, arranged, composed and wrote most of his albums on his own. He played the instruments better than most of his band members, so he knew all the parts. That's why his live sound is so exhilarating and singular. Prince - guitarist, bassist, drummer, piano and keyboards player, writer, producer, composer, singer, dancer, band leader, movie star. The biggest phenom in modern popular music.

He had two studios in his home and an extensive catalog. He probably did use auto tune as he often toyed with sound.
His home was the studio.
Iukyk 💜🔥
@@karendrives970auto tune didn't exist until 1997. That was nothing but pure talent. Yes, he mixed in his studio, but he never used auto tune.
MJ and Prince are unbelievable but for me, Prince was the modern Day Mozart. He did everything……………
100%!
One part Mozart, one part Hendrix, one part MJ, and one part James Brown.
He was a force in music, and life. He was something words can't express. Such a loss. We were blessed to know this era.
Prince never held back at his concerts. They were out of this world. He played basketball with those high heels AND WON!!!
Prince will live on when you youngsters realize what he brought to the world. And keep his music alive. I miss Prince so much.😢 And I'm a 78 year old white woman.
Ditto
I’m a 56 year old lady & NOTHING compares to PRINCE!!👑 ❤👑
I'm 41 and the countless memories I have of singing and dancing to Prince with my mom through my childhood makes me smile, laugh, and cry all at the same time. PriNce was an absolute MONSTER!!! I mean monster in the most complementary way possible. Monster as in he was an enormous gift from God to all of us. He's a monster that although he's no longer here physically, his soul and spirit will never be defeated and will never disappear!!!
74 yrs old here and he was the absolute penultimate of the music world
😢 Well said , bless u ❤
I'm a 70 yr old white guy. Do you have any idea of how heart warming it is to see the Gen Z kids (lol - my grandkids) appreciate the kind of musical experience we were exposed to in the 80's?!? OMG, all the human energy and joy and FUN that just blasted from the music of the 80's.... And Prince led the pack...:-) I saw him a couple of times in concert and baby. lemme tell ya - Baby, I'm STILL a star, 30 years on..:-)! We ALL are, still and forever...:-)
BTW - I had the BIGGEST crush on Sheila E...🙂
Well said 💜. (68-year-old white lady and ride or die Prince fan here)
I'm slightly younger (56), but my biggest regret in life is I never got to see him live in concert. WhenI was 15, he was on tour with Rick James and The Dazz Band and were coming to Colorado Springs--the tickets were only $5. My mom didn't like Prince and wouldn't let me go😂
I've loved him since I was 11 and heard "I Wanna Be Your Lover".
@@thatonegirlelaine 💜I love that one, too.
I’m a 56 year old white lady, 1999 Baby!!
My friends and I ran our cassette tapes till they broke!! ❤🎉
Prince is one of the best of ALL time!!! A musical genius!!! RIP Prince 💜💜💜
The 80's was simply an incredible era for music.
And this was just the beginning! He was loved worldwide. They lit the Eiffel Tower in purple lights when he passed away. Keep reacting to Prince. 💜💜💜💜
❤GOD YES!! Keep going with PRINCE!!👑
Pink Floyd played the final notes of Purple Rain in their live show, turned the stage lights purple. (and I can hear Gen-Z-kid go, Pink WHO?? Lol! Down the rabbit hole you go!)
27 instruments. High Heels and flamboyent.. THE GOAT. Let me say this.. YOU WILL NEVER REACT TO A BAD PRINCE SONG
He's a Guitar God , a Funk God , a Rock God , a Jazz God , ...
A vocal and dancing god
A producing, composing and md god… 😅
He didn‘t care about black or white, male or female - he had just the best musicians around

Prince was a boomer.
Prince played 40+ instruments and is the best guitarist i have ever heard play. Ever.
This was a nice warm up for his 2007 Superbowl Halftime show when he did Purple Rain while it was pouring down, the absolute best halftime I ever saw in my 75 years. And his agents and safety people were losing it. What an artist and performer he was.
THE best Half-time show EVER!
Yes, best half time show ever
Yes! Back when half-time shows were worth watching and that one especially!
Best Super Bowl halftime show of all time! This is the video you need to react to!
@@donnabennett1256 I second that
Prince didn't have an off switch. His concerts were earth shattering.
❤👍🔥 Life changing experience!! EPIC!! ❤🎉
I saw him at the Astrodome in Houston when I was 16!!!!
We were SHOOK!! 🎉
So sexy!! ❤😂❤
And so unforgettable. I've seen 6 concerts live and I'm so thankful to have seen and listened to Prince while I was growing up!
He is a legend on guitar. Jackson was an excellent singer and dancer. Prince was the whole package !
Baby Boomer here ✋🏽. Idk which one I enjoyed the most; Prince's stellar performance or this Gen Z's reaction. Brilliant 😍
You've just witnessed one of the greatest artists, writers, producers, arrangers, composers, and guitarists of all time, young fella.
We love Gen Z. We need you to look back and see where you came from
Those of us of a certain age and above, all grinning in PURPLE at what you were about to experience when we clicked on this video. 💜💜💜💜💜
I cried the day this man died. ❤❤ No one comparable. More talent in his pinky than all others.
I still cannot believe he is gone….. devastating…. Forever loved and missed
Nearly cried here too 😢He was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!💜💞💙💝💐
The day he died, it snowed. In April. Cause sometimes...
He died on my birthday. I was devastated.
His death damn near broke me. I mourned this man worse than my own grandmother. But it was OK because she would have understood ..she and my stepmom enabled my prince obsession. I can’t even listen to him anymore. I had to start listening to heavy metal in order to heal. Sad but true.
“No one in the whole universe will ever compare”
"Nothing compares... nothing compares...nothing compares to you!"
Prince was once of the most talented people in the entire world. I love him so much.
It's a giggle when someone who is sitting down says they feel exhausted while watching him....
2016 was a brutal year. In January we lost Bowie. Then a short time later we lost Prince. And then in December we lost George Michael. And there were many more as well. RIP to them all. ♥
That just shattered a part of me. All of my favorites, the ones I would always come back to, gone too soon.
Absolutely destroyed our music obsessed Gen X hearts..💔💔💔😭😭😭
Respect.🙏🏽
Totally agree with you : Bowie and Prince were to me the most talented artistes ever
I cried for days when he was found deceased. I listen to his music almost daily. No one will ever replace him.
He is the ONLY celeb I cried for when he passed. 😢😢😢

I realized how blessed the world was to experience this man's genius and how much he's missed when I watched his cover of Creep at Coachella. ASE' Prince💖🙏🏾🕊💫
I'm a white American woman. My parents were STUNNED when I pledged my allegiance to a short Jehovas Witness genius.

No way Jehovah Witnesses actually approved of his profession and dress style. They only tolerated him for the potential for new recruits.

Prince was from another planet. Fire in concert. I was lucky to see him. ❤❤❤
No, legitemately from another planet. A starseed for sure.
Prince was a true showman. He was so talented. He could play every instrument.
He’s basically Ground Zero for everything I listen to today from Sade to new edition to George benson to Metallica.
There will never be another one
I had every one of his vinyl records. I'm old. lol.. I'm SO angry that I don't still have them.
Prince performing Purple Rain at the Superbowl. It’s iconic and unforgettable!
In the pouring rain!
Prince was one of the best guitar players out there.

What does Prince, MJ, Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Madonna, Justin Bieber . . . All have in COMMON?
They all were born in the Year of the Dog 🐺
People born 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018 tend to be very energetic, a certain level of charisma, love to be the center of attention, and a great memory - and have the tendency to be great singers🎙️

Prince did all of that dancing in 3” heels too!! he was literally the GOAT!
6" heels.
The Opry for Harrison’s memorial was so good. I can’t stand it.
Prince on guitar is crazy!
Prince could play every instrument on that stage. He wrote his own songs and own his masters.
Prince was a genius. He kept changing and growing his entire career. Great choice!

R.I.P. Prince.
