only saw the blue and black befroe I got the point. with the blue it isn't that big a deal cause you can gradually change the color with a gradient of sorts, but the black should be a consistent color throughout.
Amy what the problem is and will be, besides different companies, is dye lots. Lesson #1 is buy all the colors at one time. If you need 30 skeins of one color, then buy them all at the same time. Just my little voice of old lady wisdom.
Everyone runs into the problem, at one time or another, of skeins not matching. What you can do is take a strand from one skein & mix it w a strand from another skein. Or if you're stitching with just one strand, alternate pulling threads btwn skeins.
Maybe check to see if JoAnn's will have their floss on sale for Black Friday. Usually they do..." price too low to advertise " is how they post the DMC sale.
They had one a few days ago but the selection here is minimal. I grabbed some but not all. Unfortunately, Hobby Lobby never has they DMC brand on sale. Always the artiste which is usually specialty. 😭.
No worries at all! I have since gotten the majority of the ones I need. Most of them are single skeins I'm going to still use. That yellow and blue though 🤷♀️
lol, it's funny how each company's DMC color code is slightly different. That's how I ended up mixing my drills. They didn't look different until I put them together and oh boy was it obvious lol 🙄🤗💖
Send a letter to dmc company they will send you a number chart with the colors and the nu.ber of the color floss I have one number chart at home if I buy a floss with the number on the skins I compare my thread to the number chary

I agree, if you’re short on money then buy all the multiples at once then slowly buy the remainder skeins.

You also have to be careful with Chinese floss. But I’ll wash it before you use it because it’s possible, maybe probable, that others will bleed.
I didn't think of that. I haven't washed floss before. I will have to look into it.
Do they bleed if you wash the project?
Not as far as I've used but I don't really wash mine
