I just found you. Yay another gridder! I haven’t tried Cxc but have heard good things. As for a grime guard I picked up a couple of steering wheel covers from the dollar tree and got an 8 in qsnap. It works great mixing a larger qsnap and the smaller one together. Have a good day 💜~ Elisa
Don’t give up on grime guards! It took me going to a pro, and her persuasive threat... You can do it! Just new here, and excited to watch more of your videos.
Nice video! I recently received some cxc floss as well, but I haven’t tried it yet. i just started my first HAED two days ago and it’s quite the challenge. I’m using the gridded 25 ct. Lugana and have separated out the floss needed for the first few grids on the fabric. I am doing 1 tread of DMC over 1 square of fabric and even using only 1 strand, it gets quite hard to pull the needle thru certain areas. I my need to use a smaller size needle now that i’m thinking about it....Good Luck on your project!
Thank you! I have issues sometimes when a spot is surrounded by stitches and makes a tighter fit. Generally it's fine though, so yeah, try the smaller needle. :) Which HAED did you start?
How do you like using the cxc floss compared to dmc? - I’m considering trying it because dmc cost is prohibitive now compared to 10 years ago. Thank you 😊
The CXC has worked really well for me. It looked a little fuzzy when I was using it on black fabric, but was fine from further away and not through my magnifying glass. I just ordered some more from a different store, so hoping it will get here faster. I would definitely say try it out. I've heard some say the colors don't match well sometimes, but I haven't noticed any problems. Double label ones are better to get than the single. And I think the white labels are even newer.
The smaller ones I got off of Amazon and are 1 inch binder rings. The bigger one is 3 inches and I got it off of 123stitch.com, though I'm sure they're on Amazon as well.. just not sure on prices. There's a lot of different sellers, so ya can look around for the best option. The 3 inch is a little big and a regular size hole punch doesn't fit over the hinge. I have one that I think is 2 inch, maybe 2 1/2, that I like more.
CXC floss are not as smooth as DMC. I also bought some colours that are not very similar to DMC. Ali Express takes forever to delivery. I live in Asia and it takes more than a month to get my orders. Stopped ordering from them.
I agree they took a long time to get and aren't as smooth. I didn't compare colors since I don't have many to compare to, but colors not being close would definitely be a problem. Luckily so far I haven't had an issue on my projects.
Woot floss! Wow! I am excited to see the bigger projects get going.
Me too! Started to see a flower come together last night. :)
Just finished watching all of your flosstubes so far. Really excited you finally got your floss and looking forward to seeing your progress! 🙂
Aww, thanks! I'm loving stitching this HAED. :)

Ahh, good idea! I'll have to check the dollar tree out. :) Hope you have a good day too.

I brought my 1st from eBay. It’s called ‘It Worked Yesterday’ by Randal Spangler. 89 colors!
@@jctrain6876 Ahh, cute! I love the book titles in the background too. Hehe

@@obsessivecraftydabbler7274 thank you! I just ordered 200 skeins from Amazon and it only took 5 days to receive it.. 💖
Awesome! I may have to try that sometime, then.
What size are your rings? Where did you get them?

What floss are you using for your griding?
Sulky sliver metallic thread.
What does cxc mean please, what does it stand for?
It's just the brand of floss. If it stands for anything, I'm unaware of it.
@@obsessivecraftydabbler7274 ok. Thank you for your reply
