    I have just bought a set, hoping that my current wip the Snowman for my grandson will look okay. Thanks for your review.

    Now in 2021 DMC is.60 a skein at Hobby Lobby and Joannes and do I ever miss the 5/1.00 sales from the old days 😂 It may be slightly less on line but add the shipping and you’re well over .56 per. Great video thank you :)

    I wanna stitch a few charts I've had hanging around for yrs & I'm thinking of buying a full set of the cheaper floss. DMC is just too expensive for my needs. All the reviews I've seen say the Chinese floss in OK to use. Thanks.

    I bought CXC set. (not arrived yet) I have heard many GOOD reviews on CXC flosses. DMC may be awesome but too expensive!

      It’s not even just the cost of DMC threads themselves but I would need the shade cards for several thread types, and OMG they’re overpriced! I mean it’s essentially advertising so why are we paying at all?! And the printed ones are weirdly blurry and inaccurate like they just shoved a thread card in a photocopier.

      Hi Erin, it’s called “Birds to the Boughs” by LindyStitches and you can get it on etsy. I’ve finished it now and love looking at it every day!

    How do you replace the cxc or if you need more than 1 floss? I did buy some for Temu and have had no problem embroidering with it.

    Do you prefer one over another? CXC OR DMC? For embroidery.

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  4 года назад +1

      I do like cxc for lower counts, it gives a much better coverage, but for high count fabrics 36 ct and above, then I prefer DMC. If someone told me “you could only pick one or the other for the rest of your life”, I would probably choose DMC though.

    I was wondering if you could clarify a concern I have for CXC floss. Is there a way to make sure I get the newest dye lots from sellers on AliExpress? Someone has indicated that the last 2 numbers on their barcode signifies older and newer threads. The ones ending in 10 are older and 14 are the newest dye lots. A friend got new full set from AliExpress and the numbers are mixed. Some of her colors are quite different than DMC.

      In short, no. However I have seen one specific seller recommended frequently called “factory shop” and they will fill with the more recent, but it can be slightlymore expensive than the older ones. I have learned since this video that the new ones have 2 labels just like dmc whereas the old ones only have 1 label. I have some of both but haven’t experienced an issue yet. Hope that helps!

    Did you buy your DMC a couple of them at a time? Or they available in a full set? Where? Thank you.

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  4 года назад +1

      For regular DMC I’ve mostly collected as I kit up projects from craft stores, but for CXC floss I’ve ordered as full sets from AliExpress.

    Hi I just come across this video. I want to ask if you can mix DMC with cxc

    I love your plastic organizer. Can I ask where you got it? I would prefer the DMC. It appears higher quality. The stitches lay better and appear neater. Thank you for your demonstration.

      Hi Patty! The floss organizer is by creative options and I bought mine on amazon but I have seen it at Joann before too. I do like DMC as well and I use that if I need multiple skeins on a project. I just don't have a full set yet, but at least I can see the colors!

    Where do you buy your cxc floss from? Everytime I get cxc floss,,most of the colors don't match..thank you

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  5 лет назад

      Hello, I have ordered twice from different sellers on Ali express, another time I got from another stitcher. I have to admit that for large projects that use several skeins of one color I just use DMC because I am afraid of what you say although I haven't had an issue yet. Sometimes the skeins are more than one piece length tied together which I do not know why either. 🤷‍♀️

    Hi! For 18 count it is okay if I mix the dmc and cxc thread? And how many strand do i use? Thanks I hope you will answer.

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  5 лет назад +1

      Hello! 18 ct is tricky, because 2 strands looks very full and 1 is rather thin. I would probably choose 2 for most projects...I do mix the threads in a pinch, but everyone tells me one of the goals of cross stitch is consistency throughout the piece I try to stick to one or the other. Hope that helps!

      Thank you so much! How about for 14count how many strand do I use for cxc? 2 strand?

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  5 лет назад +1

      Yes two strands look great on 14 ct! 😊

    Is CXC colorfast like DMC? Thank you!

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  4 года назад

      It is labeled as colorfast, and I haven’t had any issues yet! I actually did a hair wrap with CXC in my husband’s hair once and he kept it in for a couple of months, through shampoos and everything. The threaded eventually got fuzzy, but the colors didn’t fade.

    • @Stitchinit
      @Stitchinit  4 года назад +1

      Do you want to substitute them with cxc? You can buy from shops on Ali express that will fulfill with specific colors, but I haven’t tried it, like you I have only tried full sets
