Hi Lizzie! I haven’t finished watching but I had to pause because I think I know what the deal with those extra sticker numbers at 13:00 are. I think they’re discontinued/renumbered colors. For example, 504 is now 3813 on my DMC color card. Confusing, I know! Anyway, can’t wait to watch the rest of your video after I put the kids to bed.
The drawers look so pretty organized in order. I didn’t have a complete set of DMC either, so two years ago I took inventory and every time Joann had a sale or Michael’s had a coupon good on your total purchase I would buy 20-25 skeins. It is so satisfying to have a complete set all in order. Good job! As a side note, I just watched a video from Mountain Laurel Stitches. She is going to Stitch Con and doesn’t know anyone. Maybe you can reach out to her and meet up if you are going the same weekend.
Yep.. I got sick of not have the colors I needed, so back in the day - Michaels would have sales of 10 for a dollar - so I would go up and buy 10 or 20 bucks worth every paycheck until I had them all.
I have a Bisley drawer and the Pip and Chip bobbins. I loved doing this process a few years ago. I’m happy you were able to complete it and enjoyed doing it. My next goal is to get the bobbin sets for the fancy flosses.
I just finished organizing my full set onto Atom heart bobbins as well, but I have arranged them into color family as they are one the DMC chart. This helps me when changing out floss so that all like colors are together. I also love a great spreadsheet for all my tracking and organizing. Thanks for sharing your set up.
I LOVE it Elizabeth! Great job 👏. This whole thing made my brain so happy! I’m very tempted to transfer my bobbins to this type of storage. I do like to travel with my carry case, but I’m so tempted. It gorgeous!
I really must tidy out my embroidery threads. I keep them all in a large and lovely box….problem is I’m SCARED to open it😱quite a mess😱. I’ve no excuse and you have inspired this old lady to get cracking on this task. A few new bobbins and boxes to keep them in will put my box in order. I loved seeing your sewing space, I have my machine set out in my sitting room and still love sewing, embroidery knitting etc. Good luck with all you do😊. (Hello from Belfast NI).
Thank you so much for sharing your tips and templates! I was looking to set up a spreadsheet but definitely don't have the tech skills to make it like yours! I am excited to watch more of your stitchy playlist!
Hey Elizabeth!! Please forgive me if this question has already been asked, but I wanted to ask about how you bobbinate your bobbins again. Just to make sure I understand, you cut your thread to the length you prefer to stitch with prior to bobbinating it correct? Hence the portion about the meter stick. I have never done it that way so I am curious to know how you the adam heart bobbins work. It sounds like that would be a nice way of doing it so thanks for sharing! Lastly, have you ever done a video on how you kit up a project with how you bobbin your thread? If not, I would love to see how you do that!! As always I throughly enjoy your videos!! I have a heart for organizing as well so I get a lot of satisfaction out watching how you organize your things!! ❤ Great Job!!!
All of my strands are cut to 1 yard each and then folded over to create a loop. This is what I loop onto the floss bobbin (similar to a floss drop). Then I wrap all the precut strands around the bobbin and place it in the drawer. I cut my DMC so long so I can do the loop start. This makes my working floss around 18 inches. Thanks for the video suggestions! I'll keep those in mind for the future 😊
Yes turn the bobbin other way around. Place the number stickers in between the slits. That was my first thought when you expressed your dilemma. But of course I knew someone would have already told you and anyone else reading the comments. Have a blessed day.
Wow they look so pretty!! I need to organize mine as well. Currently I am using the bobbin boxes. I will need to add to it shortly as I keep buying skeins when they are on sale.
Thank you for sharing your organizational process! It was fun to watch and I would like to do something similar with my DMC and other hand-dyed threads I like to collect, like Roxy Floss! Wilson is so adorable - pulling out toys and trying to get your attention while you are vlogging. ❤
I wish I had of known about these floss bobbins before I bought my whole Annie’s Keeper set, I may make the switch at some point. It just looks so neat and beautiful lol
It's so great to see how you've organised your collection! I'm just working through mine too. I think those extra numbers on the last sheet might be the discontinued numbers, so aren't made anymore but are still around in people's stashes.

That makes so much sense! Thanks for the insight! 😊
Brilliant! I hadn't noticed this! So helpful!!

Thank you so much for the floss spreadsheet. I downloaded it and it is so easy to use. Your drawer and organization is wonderful. ❤
This looks amazing, as a new stitcher starting out it was really helpful to seesaw people store all of their stitch needs1 Thank you. 😍
You could turn the bobbins over so the hole end goes into the foam inserts
Best Stitches 😊

Love this!!!!!! Organizing also makes my little ❤ so happy!!
Loved this video, I've just completed a spread sheet of my flosses -- I love how tidy this is!

I love a good organization video and just found your channel! Thanks for sharing and I love your system! Happy stitching!
I truly enjoyed this video, I use Floss A Way bags, but it’s was great time to see what you did!!!!! 💚
It sure does look amazing! I'm not sure I will ever be that organized, but I would love it if I was!
Just ordered the drawer set in pink!!! OMG!!! So excited.
I got distracted by the Nesting Doll Disney Pins in the background. I have the same set framed on my wall.
great job! Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing. Happy stitching…❤️🌻👍🏼
Looks great! I did this same project over Christmas break lol I LOVE it! So satisfying!
I wish I had of known about these floss bobbins before I bought my whole Annie’s Keeper set, I may make the switch at some point. It just looks so neat and beautiful lol
Thank you for sharing your floss organization. Very informative.
So dedicated to spend all that time organising your dmc. I have a bisley and have for almost 3 years but have yet to organise it 🙈
Looks so neat and organized!
So far I only have enough dmc for one of the standard floss boxes. But, your set up looks so good, I’m dreaming.
Thankyou , inspired to sort mine now 😊
Very interesting and useful. Thanks for sharing!
Eveny video you make is fabulouse
It's so great to see how you've organised your collection! I'm just working through mine too. I think those extra numbers on the last sheet might be the discontinued numbers, so aren't made anymore but are still around in people's stashes.
Love this idea!
I would love to see how you use the meter stick to cut floss!
Me too! I didn't know people cut their floss before putting it on a bobbin. What length is your stitching thread? 18 inches?
It looks lovely but mine would turn into a rats nest I bet. I got a large apothecary cabinet and used bags to organize mine.
❤❤❤
Your organization skills are amazing! I would love to be organized like you are. How do you keep your fabric?
I have them stacked vertically in a drawer! I’ll try to remember to show that it a future video 😊
did you find any missing label stickers from Pip N Chip? Were any DMC colors missing
I did not have any missing colors for the labels 👍🏻
Ii want to buy DMC thread but i live in Pakistan please guide me
