Other thing that sucks is ozutsu and the rebaldequins are limited to gunsmith only while other civs have multiple production buildings for all their specialized units and can even be placed near the front lines to save travel time.

Castle of the crow should be a castle age landmark (adjusted accordingly), that way you'd have an actual choice between going Floating gate or getting an actual keep in Castle for a bit of map control. Rework the temple of equality into something imperial worthy.
Not really possible because you choose your religion in the castle age with these landmarks
that is such a bad idea. Japan castle are so much stronger with the rocket. You can either be completely raid free, or you build it on your opponent face and they just can not deal with it unless you are very ahead and build seige.
@@DeSoLaToR22 Sure its possible, Juicy legacy has both shaolin monks and regular monks. No reason why they couldn't adjust the japanese to work similar to that.
@LTDRay Japanese keeps aren't all that much stronger than chinese keeps, really. And if rushing a castle landmark in your opponents face was such a big issue, then you'd see the english do it all the time.

We need a new build order champ
I like thinking about balance changes, it's fun to think about the different possibilities on a civ can be changed to make it more well-rounded. Here are some interesting ideas, not anything serious at all.
Since Kura Storehouse creates a farm every 50 seconds, let Koka Township automatically create Shinobi's every 50 seconds, it can stop auto-training after 6-8.
Remove Sabotage from Shinobi and replace with Stealth like Musofadi Warriors, allowing them better attack/escape abilities since it is a very squishy unit.
Increase Shinobi hp regen from 15/min to 30/min.
Since Floating Gate automatically creates Shinto Priests every 2 minutes with up to 4 relics, let Temple of Equality function the same way and automatically create Buddhist Monks every 2 minutes with up to 4 relics as well. Instead of providing benefits to production speed for certain buildings, let the Buddhist monk relic allow different benefits such as reduced costs. So if priests can give 200% production speed, monks can make units cost 75% less resources. Japanese can play aggressive with military boom or conservative with steady unit production with reduced costs.
Allow the priest/monk to move the relics from one buliding to another.
Let TC give +1 bannerman upon TC age up, player can choose which bannerman to receive.
Treasure caravans currently feels out of place. Let Castle of the Crow be a defensive landmark and remove treasure caravans. Let CotC give all Keeps and TCs rocket attacks. Japanese Imperial can work similar to French where they can choose between a defensive castle or offensive artillery landmark.
Then let treasure caravan be an imperial upgrade that allows priests/monks to garrison relics in markets to receive extra food/wood/gold based on % of gold received. Allow up to 4 relics to be garrisoned in a market to boost %. So if 1 relic gives extra 4%, 4 relics will give an extra 16% in food/wood/gold.
the monk wololo damage buff applies to friendly buildings and units, it also stacks, if you do 5 relic wololo's and have bannermen the damage goes insane, team games buff up great bombards lol.
Its important to know that yumi Archers once they get to castle age are better than average Archers, because they get 2+ dmg for the veteran upgrade and have their bannerman, are cheaper and faster then archers. That makes them actualy better in castle age especially with Mounted Samurai!
I go 3TC every time and it works perfectly fine to survive early aggression if the TCs are built compactly. Main TC protects Farms, 2nd and 3rd protect Wood and Gold. If they cant kill you before the 3TCs are running they lose quickly after due to sheer outmassing.

my experience is I do fine feudal rushing them to the point they tend to wall themselves in, but if they hit age 3, it gets so much more uphill. mounted archers that beat heavy are nuts, yorishiro are nuts, the eco gets nuts, rockets are nuts.

Not only the monk relic buff is very risky to use, it doesnt stay long enough, its 30 sec for the effort...
What era is japanese in for this because boy the gunpowder unite are lacking
Yea I ran into one of these hackers in team ranked guy changed his user name but I rewatched the replay and he constantly would check the fog of war and see all my troops when I’m moving them and where my vills would go reported him and checked his steam and has a warning on his profile that’s he’s been banned by valve for cheating

I dont even know why they even bother with having the other yuroshiro bonuses at all anymore now that it Is limited to 4 I don't even think you can move them but still not worth.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to beat English with Japanese, it feels like they just do everything better and no matter if i FC, 2TC, nothing works, they always win out.
Open stable . Horses / onna to shut down early long bow harassment . Then spam samurai / onna . GG English. And scout scout scout . There's no one answer to this
I dont play ranked and in still learning to be fair but i do really well early Japanese defense into 2 tc then i main army you need a strong food and gold production which can be difficult but i do pretty well i win 3/4 matches quickplay

I dinno. I love my samurai and my onna opener and I will not stop playing it lol. I always build a stable just in case but infantry for the win!!!! Will see how far I get on the ladder but went from silver to diamond so it seems to be working. (Was english plat 2 last season though)
Works good for me too, I barely play ranked and and beat two golds on my first game. Japanese infantry is strong. Better than most
no offense but i have no respect for you english then japanese like no offense but the easiest civ to the cheesyest all you’re missing is ayyubids

One at a time but the skill is a pretty low cooldown on the monk

How do you get 300 gold per min building the floating gate? If you put them in production building you just make units faster why do you say 300 gold per min

Mounted samurai get wrecked by HRE MAA. Tough match-up.
True but Odashi Samurai beat HRE MAA
@solfey1 They don't. They both have 216 health fully upgraded and both have the same attack speed, but HRE do 21 damage vs samurai's 18. That accounts for 8 melee armour for both. The deflective armour is only good for one hit. 1 on 1, both kill each other in 12 hits, including the deflective armour. HRE would kill one hit faster, but samurai armour saves that. However, in a large battle, samurai lose to superior damage after the deflective armour is stripped.
I remember when they "nerfed" yoyo and i thought it wasnt that bad. They sped up the rate you get ur relics and i felt most games didnt last long enough to get ridiculous relic counts. Also the free monk generation was a nice touch. The real nerf was to the ozus.
So now you sstart with 1 yoyo and get all for after 6 minutes. Previously you started with 2, after 4 minutes had 3 and after 8 minutes you reached the same count as one, but with the headstart of having one extra for the first two minutes and being one short for last two minutes, is this not still worse now? Because the previous version had a better start and after 8 minutes kept scaling.
@@Haluc7N keep in mind its also generating 300 gold worth in monks
@@misterstaple potentially more if you lose the relics(or delete the military building that had one) once you have the wood to simply put down more
Japanese basically have a burgrave + regnizt in the same landmark...

@@xPureAndTheTaintedx you just need to place 1 yoroshiro in a stable or barrack to have burgrave equivalent, and then place 3 yoroshiro in forges and pick 3 relics to have the equivalent of regnizt with 3 relics.
Burgrave is 400% so you need to place 2 relics in military buildings, then you get 150gpm from the 2 remaining relics. If regnitz has 2 relics you get 320gpm and 3 will give 480. Yes it has similar effects, but no where near as strong@@Marc-gj9vx

I dont like how Japan's buildings act as multiple types like a house and a mill combined. Them getting gold and stone together is also strong
