How about you play each civ a week long? Chose a build order, practise it and do that for the rest of the week. I bet you would be conq 3 in no time if you already got almost to conq 1 with completely random civs
@OptimusCrime4444 yeah I've seen people do similar strategies, but personally I find one build a bit boring to grind for a week. Specially when you have to play water or hybrid maps.
I am Abba main and I love ayyu for its flex. That faster age III gives so much options against heavy feudal pressure. With Abba it was always more difficult to hold against Zhurush or Otto all in and you just waited for the age to come through😊
Missed some really good advantages for Zhu Xi's. A good spot for Meditation Garden can provide essential resources early game. Temple of the Sun end game needs to be on Macro - can passive heal all your units, 20% Cavalry buff, 15% unit speed boost. And the gun powder range buff should be used for your grenadiers. Don't sleep on them! The AOE stacks up fast in large armys, plus having extra building dmg similiar to the fire lancers. Food heavy yes, but the 3 granaries placed right will provide a significant amount of food. And don't sleep on the imperial officers*** they're better than the base chinese. Use them late game to dish out troops and siege. After the upgrade, they make all units less than 10 seconds to produce. Zhuge Nu only take 3 seconds. Crossbow 4 secs. Siege around 9 secs. Cavalry around 6 secs. Great for building a quick army for defense early game after switching from resources.
AOE bombards come from one Imp landmark, +1 range comes from the other Imp landmark. Getting both Imp landmarks is very very hard, at least in 1v1. Plus, the AOE on the bombards isn't very good. In the vast majority of 1v1 scenarios, China siege is better from the clocktower.
@@yazzzlet3549 The Meditation Gardens is stupidly powerful unless you have units in the enemy base which is kind of hard when Zhu Xi have powerful Feudal age units combined with Chinese handcannon defenses and villages.
ngl I find that without handcannons you are kind of forced to go 1000 bolts and imp guard are too good to pass up. aoe bombards is nice and all but is that really needed for a civ that has nest of bees?
Update should make me feel super hyped to play but Japan being so overplayed kinda killed it for me and going back to Mongols feels terrible on these ranked maps/meta
The developer has bigger plans for the remaining base-game civs to have a subfaction for each. My suggestions: English -> the Welsh/Cymry Rus' -> Novgorod Delhi -> the Rajput Clans (promotes Hinduism) Mongols -> the Timurids Malians -> the Songhai (c.1000-1592) Ottomans -> Barbary States
guys im new to aoe 4 and been playing now for over 1 month im having big issues i played china for a few weeks but they feel really weak... end game is just not strong... please help what civ is good to master there has to be some one so i MAIN
I dont see many people say this but imo another cool thing about JD is consecrating a siege workshop with the gold and wood upgrade
consecrate is awesome its better tha then other ability
I really like aoe 4 but the civ variety is making me crazy. I wanna be good with all of them as a random player
The best players have to be able to play them all anyhow. You'll be better off than a one-trick in the long term

Great idea beasty 👍🏻 I play Abbasids all the time, Ayyubids are a big upgrade in my view.
I'm Abbasids main, I'd agree against french/ English/ Mongols they're alot stronger but the economy is noticeable weaker than Abbasids.

So basically every variant civ is stronger in the early game, but weaker in the late game?
Isn't Zhu Xi's legacy siege comparably strong to China's? They have AOE bombards and + 1 range from the upgrades.
I think their seige is amazing. It's my new favourite civ but I think the Feudal landmark is unnecesseraly OP
