Another micro trick i see a lot from pros is (during the scenario of your knights getting chased around kn enemy base) breaking off one knight to distract the pursuing spearmen while the main group continues slaying villagers. If your oppo is relying on A move, thr spearmen will all chase that one knight if you get it close enough to them
Knigths charge automatically when they attack. No way to see the cooldown. This game is missing a ton of info. You would have to play Starcraft 2 to see info like this.
I assume that they charge when they have their Lance. When they use their sword I guess they don't charge. Cool down: you can see when they have a Lance again.
When they have their lancer out, they are charging. When they have sword, it's a normal attack. The cooldown time is hidden, probably to put a skill cliff.
Please help, I am now addicted to Empire wars and doing tons of strategies and my favorite is hoof and hammer, Knight Horsemen Pikemen and Men at arms and pushing hard. I love knights charge!

it sounds more like a tactic than a trick, but in any case, it's useful
I even do this at the gold level and it works great. Drop the lowest health unit behind and you're usually free to run away.

not sure if anyone mentioned this but remember Byzantine knights cannot do any of this because they do not have a charge auto attack
