shows how broken hre is, opponent has full map control and has taken little to no damage yet hre can just turtle and pump out a ridiculous amount of units not to mention the ridiculousness of their buildings towers especially

He played bad. If he had numbers on map earlier he would’ve been fine try this style on ladder and u won’t get far with better players. Beasty is just way ahead of recon. He wouldn’t told that against lucifron marine lord or anyone in top 10 with 11 min age up

He scouted early and saw beasty had no production buildings and assumed fast castle. Recon made units and sent vills to 3 out 5 relics to deny with walls. He then continued to capture all 3 sacred sites... he also had a ram push that against any other civ would of won him the game. Hre is B.O.B broken, overpowered and busted 💀

I like how for minutes straight Abbasid had map control and a huge spearman legion whereas beasty had like 3 knights and instead of shutting out beasty's gold he just hung out on the outskirts of beasty's base. There was only one gold pile accessible to Beasty after 13 mins in the video and Abbasid sent one spearman to attack that left flank then gave up on raiding it. After match: "So lame, your turtle was unbeatable!" My brother, you had a golden opportunity to shut him out and you barely missed it, which does happen to all of us.
Dude dont put urself on recon's level. Believe me if he says that there is a reason behind that. He is not trashtalking just explaining how dumb it is .

great video, as someone who is still learning i'm speechless.. would be awesome a video where you explain the shortcuts you use!
he has a video that he explains the basic ones.. Personally i've removed EVERYTHIBNG i dont use .. and i made the ones i use much easier to remember/ press(this helps mostly if u wanna start using more shortcuts and u usually dont use)
Search for Beasty hotkeys, there is one video he explain how he does it and even control groups.
I have a G502 so I put most of my hotkeys there so I can play mostly with my mouse only, but I still have my hand on wasd so I can quick build

Thought Beastyqt was in a tough spot this game but apparently bombard towers are a good unit. Also surprised by the number of comments talking about APM spam as if they've never seen a pro playing a mechanically demanding RTS before. It's just muscle memory.
there is a difference between ppl asking for the first time and ppl making sarcastic comments -- which clearly means they have seen the explanations, couldnt relate cuz they suck at RTS but refuse to acknowledge the reasons. we can always just explain to ppl who ask for the first time

Don't know what Recon is complaining about, he was into free boom 25mins with more eco and army and he stayed afk next to your base instead of closing the game, I don't get why he didn't push or just went imp himself before, abbassids (in PUP even more) have a huge eco lead if you let them boom. He did very well and after that he just get scared by your almost naked fast imp. He will sure get the point after the replay view :)

Yep - he didn't attack Beasty's base until almost the 10 minute mark, when knowing (I assume he scouted it) that Beasty was going naked FC.
And also he walled Beasty in which made perfect safe base for Beasty. Instead he should have deleted those walls and attack all of the vills when Beasty had 4 knights to defend.

Enjoy the videos. Curious why you have so many extra clicks. Just to raise the APM? Or is there a strategy behind it. You spam the mouse often sending a unit back and forth with no change
the repeated click on unit production key is just to ensure the production is queued without having to visually confirm it. personally i only do it when i am choked on res or housing and want the queuing to happen at the first possible millisecond. The fast switch between thing is to get into the rhythm of doing things fast.
all in all, if you yourself try to play competitively, i expect you to do the same. you also need those fast reacting keyboard and mouse. can make a big diff there -- both in measured apm and in actually how you will see apm as physically meaningful like if your keyboard and mouse has the lowest speed allowed by usb 2. you literally click faster than the device samples your input and you wont really get the crisp actions in game.
@@ecpgieicg Thanks!!! That explains most of it but I saw for example 5 clicks for one unit to move to the same spot. So is it possible theres just a bunch of over clicking going on as well?
@@ChedsTrading Definitely. That said, as you play, you do learn where it is ok/helpful to overclick and where you should not. For example, if you are shift-queuing paths, you need to make sure you are not overclicking even once. That is because units pause at waypoints --- an artifact that seems unlikely to be fixed any time soon. For example, overclicking shift-queued scout path could get you less sheep or even have your scout killed if the waypoints happen to be just at opponent TC range. (The waypoint pause is also why the optimal thing to do is to have rough default routes via shift-queue -- so it never idles, but still micro your scout before they hit waypoints --- in contrast to shift-queue, direct right-click is instant. That sounds like frequent re-setting of default path but, in reality, humans click way faster for that to be a downside.)

@@slogiranakoala2855 I don’t play it, but I understand what you mean. However, that has nothing to do with this. Spamming group keys doesn’t look or sound good at least to me.
The vast majority of the presses achieve nothing, so wasted energy in my eyes.
It’s a Starcraft thing. He used to play SC2, which is a lot more mechanically intensive than AOE4. AOE4 is a lot more chill of an RTS mechanics wise than other RTSs like Starcraft and the CnC games.
Why beasty makes knight only? agains an anti knight civ? Wouldn't it be better if he uses unique HRE unit or Man at arms mixed with ranged units?

what is the keyboard shortcut to quickly go to the previous screen you were looking at?
He have everyone on a shortcut key (ctrl + number) if you double click on the number you have them assigned your camera will go there automatically
there is camera save point. you can look it up in the keymap in game. however, what beasty did was just double-clicking the unit group number. that's all there is. it's not "previous" screen. it's the camera position of one of his unit groups.

Have been watching beasty a few months now but I don't understand why he groups everything as 1,2,3? How can you select precisely what you need then? I always do 1 number per army type
if its grouped to more buttons he can use any of the buttons which means doesnt have to think about it as much when on high APM + sometimes its more convenient to click one over the other buttons if you are clicking a bunch of other hotkeys simulntaneously
he has a video on his shortcuts and his playstyle
he did so so he won't misclick. If, for example, you put group 1 as army and group 2 as peasants and press the wrong button between the 2, you're fcked.
Beasty isn't using a standard keyboard, he uses a keyboard with programmable keys.
do you change your view between scout and village with shortcuts? Or does it give any short cut to change like "change to last spot" or something like that
you can assign anything you want to numbered groups. double tapping any of those numbers moves camera to that location

where do i get the APM counter u have?
Kinda confused by a few things here. Of course high APM and keybindings are important, but it sounds like he's clicking and pressing things way more than what is equating to actual actions? What am I missing about this? Like right around the 5m mark he selects his scout a couple times and starts spam clicking a bunch of things that don't seem to correlate to actual actions. What's happening there?
Also, on his units it looks like he's using control groups (i.e. select a group of units, press ctrl+a number to easily reselect) so it has the number above their heads, but then the UI doesn't show the groups. Is that something you can turn off? Or does that number correspond to something else? And like the town center has "0,4,5,6,7,8,9" on it. Is that just showing his custom bindings?
When there's multiple numbers that means hes assigned it to multiple groups so he can use any of those keys to select it. And yeah I think the UI not showing control groups is just a setting somewhere.
Extra clicks you hear are probably just things that dont actually do anything. like clicking the control group key for whatever is already selected so nothing happens. just to keep amp up. easier to stay high apm then to slow down and go back when you actually need it
Some/lots of players like to have high average apm over the course of the game. Early game there aren't as many units/buildings etc. so they keep reselecting or doing repeat movements that aren't necessary. Later when the same time frame is used to go between multiple buildings and unit groups the apm is spread across them more equally. So the average apm of the entire game doesn't drop from when there is less to control. Some players say it helps them as warming up the fingers/muscle memory. There is also something along the lines of 'effective' apm, which is basically not how many buttons are pressed in a minute but which of those actions were minimally necessary or so. Such as selecting your tc once at the 40 min mark in the middle of a battle to see if villagers are queued, vs selecting your tc 20 times at the 5 sec mark when everything in the build order is in place and the scout hasnt even left the initial fog of war

guys im newbie at aoe, how do you build multiple farm or building at the same time ? do you need hotkeys or something
i watched beasty's video and he can build so many farm so fast
you hold shift
hold shift. and also if you shift + multiple click, the game will place multiple of that same buildings (whatever you previously clicked for). but beasty for the most part placed those farm 1 by 1 manually. i dont know why

maa counter spears too, and HRE has the best maa in the game. Recon countered maa with crossbows, which is why Beasty built mangonels and transitioned into horsemen. HRE has insane food eco with Aachen and spamming horsemen/maa to harass eco and burn down buildings is better than having an archer blob that relies on siege units to destroy buildings. Finally, archers are quite bad in the late game against everything but spears, they are not population efficient. You can see that Beasty has ~140 eco pop with only 60 military pop, so you want these units to be high-impact.

Why does it seem like sometimes when beasty goes to TC to make vils he's having a seizure spamming q? It looks like it selects his TC 20 times and i think all he is doing is making vills?

Can someone explain to me why he is clicking and tapping the keyboard so many times a second? Seems overkill
Faster the apm the better the player usually. He's checking things fast asf and building/micro managing fast asf and it takes a lot of clicks to do all that
it helps with muscle memory and other things to be able to handle the actual apm spikes when you have to multitask. Also i bet its kinda like a stress ball, keeps you focused and your body occupied.
@@zaganim3813 stresses me out watching it, but yes keeps you busy and focused I am sure! I don't use macro keys or owt, so I'm probably slow asf.
1 you only want to queue up 1-2 units in each building so you cycle through them to check they are active but not over queued. Over queuing ties up resources. Secondly I think it’s adrenaline that makes the clicking. Like the first click is just fo in that general direction but second/third is more thought through. This is at least what I do.

You usually don't want to make ranged units as HRE, it's rare you are going to use them into the game, you have Men at Arms which do the job for you
@@ContattodiSparta Late game does it make sense to drop archery ranges as HRE for crossbows or handcannons? Matchup specific maybe?
I would personally just make 2-3 mangonels to counter spearmen, as HRE you spam maa or other Meele units because of his techs

Why do pros assign multiple keybinds on the same TC?
Because it looks „pro“.. honestly it’s pretty meaningless in my opinion
i think it's because if you bind it to just one keybind, you'll be pressing only that keybind for the whole game and can make you blunder more. For example, the default bind is H, you bind your archer to 1 and you wanna switch to tc as fast as possible - you'll be optimally switching faster if you have another bind for your tc that is closer to 1 other than H.
I wish this game wasn't so dependent on high APM, high APM is relatively a worthless real life skill. Vs good strategies in life is actually useful.

He was trying to overwhelm aba and use that gold on emplacements to control the map. Aba has trade I think so he needs to do smth about it

I'm pretty sure he was hording gold for upgrades, as imp age gives you about 6k worth of gold in upgrades.

yes it is very enjoyable 😊 you need to hyperfocus to be good. and nobody ever said rts games are relaxing😂 mits more relaxing to watch a cast maybe instead of watching the player. i find it more intere§ting to watch the player though, because you see how he thinks and manages everything

I dont understand. Neither of you pro players build any keep. When i play, the most of my opponents build more than 5 keeps and win. Not always ofcourse, but the most of the times.

Some players hate stonewalls cause you cannot destroy them without siege units.. ..but you can destroy keeps lol.....keeps have 5 fire armor......so stone walls and tower could have 10 fire armor and can be destroyed by all units too
