@Edie N: I completely agree! I have lost 60 pounds and do Pilates at age 65. Being slim, firm, and toned goes a long way towards looking younger. Clothes hang better and we look healthy and desirable, not frumpy.
Hi Edie, Yes, I speed-walk and sprint an hour each and every night; I have been doing this for decades. At 64, I am toned, flexible, slender, and energetic. And since I am a vegetarian, I eat a very healthy diet. Love having loads of high energy every day!!

Thank you so much for doing these videos. I was taught by my mother and grandmother, and passed it on to my daughter. So many aren't taught and your videos are wonderful. I suffer from anxiety and depression due to grief and my clothes are my armor. I may be sad on the inside but when I have to go outside my clothes are suitable. It does give me a boost. As my daughter says, "Dress nice every day just in case, that outfit could be your ghost outfit." She's such a character.
Hi Kim, I suffered from depression for a very long time, but I always made the effort, like you, to apply my make-up beautifully, to style my hair, and to dress elegantly. It made me feel better, and it felt great to receive compliments from others!
Every psychiatrist should give his lady patients a voucher for Giant Tiger as part of the therapy. Fabric is SO important to women. I just got a cute white and blue top at Talbots on sale and a pale blue skirt for FIVE bucks at Blue Note. I live in Ottawa, Canada. Do you have Blue Note down there? Mixing and matching saves money. For me if I feel.that I must enter a certain store it is because some fabulous garment is waiting for me. Don't ignore these thoughts. Hairstyles can age you. It’s good to change it up. For me, shorter hair makes me look younger. I know many who have long hair that look great but it doesn’t work for me. Also keeping flexible. Walking stiff definitely makes you look older. Love love love the tips. 💕
Merci Marie-Anne, Another great video loaded with useful tips and information. No more old knickers for me 😂!! I'm on the hunt for tummy flattening knickers! I'd like to share something I do to enhance my look - wear moulded shoulder pads under my bra straps. They help gently build up my shoulders and make tee shirts, blouses, sweaters all hang better and make my waist look slimmer and more youthful. I bought mine from Amazon and they're made of latex type material that has a light stick on one side to help them stay in place. They come in flesh tone and clear tone and are very comfortble to wear.
When I passed 55, I discovered that a bright pink lip color looks more youthful on me than reds or peaches. This will be different for ladies with different skin undertones, but I think that a bright, happy lip color that suits you will lend a youthful appearance.
Great video. I practice many of these tips but picked up a few new ones. One thing I started to slip into that o recently stopped doing is wearing large prints. I started wearing them because I thought they were vibrant abs cheerful but started seeing how much I look like an old lady in them when a friends niece commented how cute my tip was because it was “old lady fun!” I went back to more solid colors with lots of whites or vibrantly rich jewel tones which suit me much better and de-age me.
Great suggestions! Love your points about the jeans and masculine additions. To look younger, one thing I always choose is a close to the body fit, especially in my tee shirts and tailored shirts. Anything that droops under the arms can create unwanted volume that ages the body. Thanks, Marie-Anne, for a superb video-as always! 💝🙋♀️
I love your style and your attitude... I wear wider leg jeans since 2 or 3 years.. No more skinny jeans! They show everything. When I do than with long tops and cardigans. I'm 54 and what me looks younger is my pixie hair cut. Get a lot of compliments for it! My natural hair color is light red.. Getting white colored now! Please make more of your lovely videos!
Love the whip sound. Ha! Love your tips, especially the high-waisted pants/skirts with body-conscious tops with foundation garments that keep us from flapping around. I think that if you are tall with long legs, you can wear maxi skirts with very high heels/boots and look youthful, and wear it with a short jacket, even a motorcycle jacket. I get a lot of compliments from men and women on my maxi dress with the long slit down the side, high heels, and a blazer; both the dress and blazer are from White House Black Market.
I’ve been getting measured for foundations for decades and buy quality pieces that last for years. It helps my silhouette. Love that you wear sneakers, I am trying to convince my 84 year old mom to wear some nice white sneakers- and will take her shopping on her next visit to the states to pick out a good pair. Love your videos!
Great tips! I always learn something new from you! One of my tips that I also include is no capri pants - it cuts off at the widest part of the calf and the visually shortens you.
@@Sienna-s5p Well, they're not cutting you off at the widest part of the leg - which is why they're called cropped pants! Of course one's height makes a difference. But when it comes to using illusion to create a longer, leaner silhouette, you want your trousers to be as long as possible.
Another fantastic video Marie-Anne. The tips are so simple, yet they make the outfits 💕. I can’t help but say how much I enjoy your outdoor videos… the stone buildings, beautiful grounds and the icing on the cake was seeing Dakota again…such a beauty….. may I say, I was shocked when you said your age… you look so much younger…guess it is due to living a good life eh! Merci again.
My trick? Smile. It pulls the muscles of your face up and prevents "marionette lines" around your mouth. Smile even when you don't feel like it. When I do that I find that my mood follows suit. Plus, greeting everyone with a smile draws them to you. And, come to think of it, that's just what you do in your videos. :)
Well, one has to take into account your body shape. If I wear a white t shirt, I just look massive and butch as I have wide shoulders and a tummy. You have a very slim figure so it is flattering on you. Thank you for the tips. I find so many dresses now are cut wide with way too much fabric...it's all about finding your brand that has nice classic shapes and clothing that is well-made. Hard to find nowadays.

I just discovered your channel and I’m laughing out loud while learning some great tips. I especially like the tip on adding a masculine look. I never thought about it, but it does look fabulous and gives me a feeling of confidence and fabulousness!
I think good foundation garments are important for every age to make clothes fit and look their best. I am 69 and doubt I can ever look younger but following these style tips I can feel elegant, stylish and confident. In my case, I must cover my arms, at least 3/4 sleeves. not too low of a neckline( I feel that is an important tip for all ages), especially as we grow older. I enjoy dressing in stylish classic clothing not in " old lady" clothes. I see some things that would not look good on any age! I love your classic French style!
@@grandmajane2593 I am also an old lady. I was speaking of old lady style clothes not people. Styles that I feel none of us have to wear no matter our age. I am proud to be alive and be a grandmother. I apologize sincerely for offending you. I didn't mean to offend anyone.
@@lindariddle2276 - I'm not really offended. I was just trying to educate people about the words "old lady". I know its become a category of fashion. But still somehow it kind of bugs me. I think the term "old lady" kind of demonstrates the feelings in my country about ageing. Us old people, and I mean really old are not valued like I thought we should be. Wait until you start going to the doctor all the time. I suspect that health care is being denied because of age. Its happened to me several times. Its very subtle but its there. I happened to start talking to an old man in the drugstore one day and he said he had been denied procedures a few times. I have been thinking about wearing my form fitting undergarments again though. Perhaps they might help with my posture. Please don't be sorry, you are a nice person.
I agree about not overdoing it Marie-Anne. Because I am short, I keep my style simple with delicate jewellery. Here’s a tip for shorties like me….. button up shirts are always too long so undo the bottom few buttons, and tie the two ‘tails’ together in front tucking the back up. It gives you a shape which is more flattering. It has become my signature look. Love your videos by the way.
I am considered about average height (5'6") so this isn't usually a problem that I encounter, but I wanted to say that I really love your idea!! I often tuck in my shirts all the way around or only in the front because it helps me to add definition to my waist. I am going to see if your trick works on me. 🙂
@@MsNZgal Well aren't you kind? 🤗 Isn't if funny? - you would not mind being a little taller, and I always thought my best friend, who is about your height, was so cute and petite. I guess it is normal and a part of being human to wonder what it would be like to be someone else. But I also think maybe we forget to celebrate what we have. (This conversation has reminded me to do that more often for myself!) 😉
Try shopping at a store that has a petite section too. I am 4'11" and all the girls in my family are small. However, I used to throw the drug dealers out of the local Mcdonald's before the pandemic. What fun! I am 74. Ladies, this wonderful French lady knows fashion.
Bonjour Marie-Anne. I am Canadian. I grew up in a little town called Ste Rose du Lac. I didn't know anything about style and I'm in my 50's. My mom was frumpy. I am learning so much from you. Merci Beaucoup.
Excellent video and great tips, dear Marie-Anne. I totally agree with you. I love the way you express every concern gracefully. Beautiful outfits and lovely footage. Healthy good habits have a positive impact in our appearance indeed and you're always looking chic and fabulous. Merci 🙏⚘
Your whip cracks me up! LOL! Yes, I will investigate laser cut underwear. I never heard of them before. I think I look younger, by not wearing current trends. What is in style is usually geared for younger people. I find a classic look and maybe throwing on a cute scarf or belt, or hat, looks chic, as well as younger. Also, a cute hairstyle or cut helps out. Great video!
Jeans can fade naturally over time so if you have a pair that you love but have started looking too faded its easy to use a machine dye in indigo to get them looking good again.
I love your comments about underwear. Every year I go through my underwear drawer and throw out anything I am not longer happy to wear, and then I can treat myself to lovely new knickers.
“Mirror mirror on the wall I am my mother after all” I started wearing glasses @ age 60, then came the floral patterns. Double take in that mirror bcuz now I look like her. People ALWAYS think I’m ten yrs younger & I don’t feel my age. Yes under garments are very important & I’ve gone up a size in everything & will keep your tips in mind when shopping for new clothes. The hardest part is getting rid of what doesn’t fit or work anymore bcuz you remember when… I won’t give up florals though, they hide the evil stains!😂
Clever tips! Thanks for the non complicated advise and being genuine and realistic. Nevertheless for teaching to be chic while still being “frugal” up to certain point. Merci madam 🤩

Excellent video, thank you, Marie-Anne! So well presented and full of great suggestions we can all use. Healthy, glowing skin is not necessarily a style trick, but over exposure to the sun can really age us. So daily sunscreen, drink plenty of water for hydration, a beautiful smile and a fabulous hat are always in my style kit.
I am having a difficult time finding the wide leg trouser that I like. Yours are lovely. Would you share the brand please? I wholeheartedly agree with your age-defying tips! Thank you!
Bonjour! Suddenly, my high school French keeps popping into my head, and I spent the day listening to wonderful French chansons....so when I saw the title of your video (I'm 75), I tried one out--then another and another! Charmant. (Excuse me if I don't spell the French correctly ;-) Great! Thank you. This caught me at just the right time; I'm redefining myself as I get used to becoming a different person (my husband died 1/2 year ago). Excellent ideas. Odd, I went through my clothes and got rid of 2 ''comfortable'' midis. (I lost so much weight--25 pounds--that now I have my old figure back--and something to show off.) Now I understand why. Merci!!!
Great video as always Marie-Anne, and yes, age is a reality we all have to deal with. I have recently discovered "slugging" with petroleum jelly applied to my wet face every night and it's made my skin so soft and there's not pore blocking break outs. What is your opinion of this practice?
Hi Kya, After each medical skin peel I had, my dermatologist told me to slather my face with Vaseline to help it heal. It really keeps the skin supple. It also helps to slather it on your hands and wear special gloves at night to make the skin softer.
I have been applying a petroleum based moisturizer to my face for many years. It is MaryKay's night emollient cream. I apply it while in the shower when my face is clean, wet and warm.I use very, very little ( about the size of 3 or 4 grains of rice) .People always ask me what I use on my face because they can't guess my age.
When I volunteered for many years in the US reproductive rights movement back in the 1960s and early 1970s, petroleum jelly was used as a barrier with diaphragms to prevent sperm from reaching the egg. Problem was that the petroleum is basically oil that dries out materials with which it comes in prolonged contact. Research showed that the diaphragms in contact with such jelly developed tiny fissures virtually invisible to the naked eye but large enough to permit the passage of sperm. I would never use petroleum jelly on skin over time. There are many good thick, buttery skin products out there, like Jason's Vitamin E cream, whv:ich provide some value in nutrients, help make one's skin glow, and are absorbed readily into the skin so that there is no worry about oily shine on one's skin after application or about residue permanently staining one's clothes....
Thank you for the fantastic video. I want to protect mom jeans. I have an hourglass body type and quite big legs, so the bootcut style looks awful for my body. Tight on the top of my legs makes my ankles wider at the bottom. High-raised mom jeans are perfect for me. So, girls, wear clothes that suit the best for your body type! ❤
Athleisure. 😂 I can't do it. I work out indoors in this stuff, I'm not wearing it on the high street. 😂 I pretty much live in neutrals. It seems to elevate the style factor for me. Sheath dresses, pencil skirts with cotton blend or cupro button up shirts. I just finished making a pleated skirt in a gray linen blend that falls just below my knees. Looks great with sneakers and a white t shirt or blouse. Not sure I'll wear it much, ironing pleats is a pain. 😅 I also love bootcut jeans in the dark wash. Great video! As a sewist, my experience is that knit garments don't hold up like woven fabrics. High quality knit fabric can cost as much as woven fabrics.
Ditch any loose frumpy dresses that look like mumu's... and tunic style tops. It's amazing how many stores sell ugly styled clothes with awful colours to boot for older ladies to wear ..lol...Too mumsy and ageing. Keeping to simple plain and clean lines in your capsule wardrobe personal colours is best. Then you can jazz them up with current accessories or reuse and reinvent what you already have. Op Shops are great for finding vintage scarves and throws for in-between seasons and for cover-ups. Hi from Australia!
I just found you, and I am so glad I did. Thank you! I'm 62and I'm trying to look at least put together. You ave beautiful style, both elegant and fun.
Marie-Anne loved this video- so true all of them. Wearing a good fitted bra definitely is number one! Yes who wants to look like granny! Your ideas for lookin young were perfect !! ☺️
I'm 70 and have very smooth facial skin. I recently changed all my makeup and it really makes a difference on how I look. I am also concentrating on my posture. No more walking around with my shoulders up to my ears. With three back surgeries behind me, I'm looking forward to less backaches.
I dunno i like medium length skirts to the knee or around there and longer ones. I stopped wearing mini skirts. Also anything that flares out in shape is good for hiding hips. And you are so right about the bra. I recently started wearing a really good one and the difference is unbelievable!
Well, here's my youthful appearance trick: I tell everyone that I'm 5 years older than my real age, lol. As I look younger than that anyway, you can imagine the admiring looks I get. " Ooooh, you don't look anything like 83. You look about late 60s!" See? Instant, non-surgical, and just slightly wicked.
I like white straight-leg, high-waist, non-stretch jeans to look younger, but still classic. I wear them with shoes not darker than tan, white or nude shoes look good great with them, especially in summer sandals. Black shoes look too heavy. A white shirt, tank or tee and a beige or white linen blazer always looks fresh with white jeans, too. I hate the discomfort of jeans, but I wear them when I want to look my best for a casual occasion, they’re so flattering. At home, it’s stretchy pants, skirts and dresses all the way!
Marie-Anne, you are awesome! I love all your rejuvenating factors and the sound of the whip follow by how years we shaved off. You are so funny and fashion smart!

@Edie N: I completely agree! I have lost 60 pounds and do Pilates at age 65. Being slim, firm, and toned goes a long way towards looking younger. Clothes hang better and we look healthy and desirable, not frumpy.
Hi Edie,
Yes, I speed-walk and sprint an hour each and every night; I have been doing this for decades. At 64, I am toned, flexible, slender, and energetic. In fact, I drove 13 hours straight from Arizona to Utah a few days ago and then made the trip to Arizona doing the 13 hours two days later: no aches, no pains anywhere. Not even back pain! And since I am a vegetarian, I eat a very healthy diet. Love having loads of high energy every day!!
Really enjoyed this Marie-Anne, very concise, enthusiastic, fun and well presented. I have a whole wardrobe of your French styling and I haven't broken the bank in achieving it. It's through your lovely French style that I get many compliments and I don't think I have ever been as happy in my own skin at almost 60....so Thank You you are a great ambassador for ladies over 50 Xx
Same!
Although I am in my early 40’s I feel so inspired, I have never tried to look polished because I was under the impression it would be expensive..Thank you I am no longer trapped I look and feel great!
Dress to impress - always and shine on.
Greetings: ( USA 🇺🇸) : btw: Ms. Lovely 😊 Marie- Anne, thank you: again, Ms. Lovely 😊 Marie- Anne, thank you
Hi Kim, I suffered from depression for a very long time, but I always made the effort, like you, to apply my make-up beautifully, to style my hair, and to dress elegantly.
I got a gorgeous coat with a fur colour for fifty bucks at a charity shop two years ago. It was worth fifty dollars!
@@marywilliams9858 Hi Mary, I have lived in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Alaska, and I have not heard of Blue note or Giant Tiger Yes, looking our best helps to elevate our mood. I do not leave the house unless I look my elegant best--ready to shine for myself and the world. Just today, I had compliments from young men, young women, and older men on my black Audrey Hepburn "Breakfast at Tiffany's" hat with the long flowing ribbon down my back and my high heels. Compliments feel great!

Absolutely on point! My tip? I regularly whiten my teeth. Even a non smoker at 70 needs to brighten her smile 😃!
Large prints can be a nightmare Susan - if you aren't sure best steer clear 😃
Great suggestions! Love your points about the jeans and masculine additions. To look younger, one thing I always choose is a close to the body fit, especially in my tee shirts and tailored shirts. Anything that droops under the arms can create unwanted volume that ages the body. Thanks, Marie-Anne, for a superb video-as always! 💝🙋♀️
V XD ddf.
Stand up straight! Chin up, shoulders down, and walk with a spring in your step.
As I age I pay more attention to my hair. Dry and dull hair can make us look 10 years older right away.
A good haircut and style 💇♀️ always make you look younger😁
Great tips! I always learn something new from you! One of my tips that I also include is no capri pants - it cuts off at the widest part of the calf and the visually shortens you.
Also, for women with longer legs, it gives the deadly “high water” look. 😩👎😖 No!!!!!
I personally love Crops because at 5' they end almost to full length. No expense for Hemming 🎉
@@Sienna-s5p Well, they're not cutting you off at the widest part of the leg - which is why they're called cropped pants! Of course one's height makes a difference. But when it comes to using illusion to create a longer, leaner silhouette, you want your trousers to be as long as possible.
Ugh I hate capris too, I stopped wearing them at least 10 years ago. They’re so incredibly aging 😮
Thank you and hello from 🇨🇦 🙏
Your channel is a breath of fresh air, fun and incredibly informative.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and beautiful style
Maria
I just discovered your channel and I’m laughing out loud while learning some great tips. I especially like the tip on adding a masculine look. I never thought about it, but it does look fabulous and gives me a feeling of confidence and fabulousness!
That is great Vamonarch 😃👍 so glad my channel is resonating with you 😘
I think good foundation garments are important for every age to make clothes fit and look their best.
Looking younger is futile at some point. Stylish, neat, elegant are attainable goals and also NOT FAKE.
"old lady"? I am an old lady and I am offended!
@@Jen7867 gosh. 5’6” sounds great. 😀
I think a front-tuck or side tuck (or tie) for a tee shirt slims and identifies your waist too!
I depend on a really good haircut that is wash and leave. Overstyled hair is aging.
Love these Marie-Anne! The pink blazer looked beautiful on you! Merci!
Excellent video and great tips, dear Marie-Anne. I totally agree with you. I love the way you express every concern gracefully. Beautiful outfits and lovely footage. Healthy good habits have a positive impact in our appearance indeed and you're always looking chic and fabulous. Merci 🙏⚘
Merci AW - how you feel has a very powerful affect on how you look and vice versa 😘
You do look more than 12 years younger! It's also your energie Marie-anne! And your confidant attitude! Bless you
🤗
Your whip cracks me up! LOL! Yes, I will investigate laser cut underwear. I never heard of them before. I think I look younger, by not wearing current trends. What is in style is usually geared for younger people. I find a classic look and maybe throwing on a cute scarf or belt, or hat, looks chic, as well as younger. Also, a cute hairstyle or cut helps out. Great video!
I have REALLY capitalized on the "masculine look." It has kept me young waay past my "youth"-LOL!
Front-tuck or side-tuck or tie your t-shirt to give shape to your body and look youthful. Also works for a button-up shirt.
I am 37, liked this video for your professionalism and quality that many young bloggers lack nowadays.
Merci for your kind words 🙏
Clever tips! Thanks for the non complicated advise and being genuine and realistic. Nevertheless for teaching to be chic while still being “frugal” up to certain point. Merci madam 🤩
Great suggestions! I would add practicing good posture, this really helps me feel confident.😉
Thanks so much for sharing. I love your style and humor. ☺
Marie Ann …your a class act … you always have a classic and modest approach . It’s with much gratitude I send you my best … from sunny Florida USA ☀️
A great haircut that suits your face. For me it's a above the shoulder bob with longs bangs to soften the look and look effortless but healthy. Thanks for your tips, they all made sense are are easy to achieve.
Perfectly sensible, nothing costly and lifelong staples. Merci beaucoup! I feel quite affirmed after watching this video!!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I still do not like white flat sneakers...
So I got some cute white sneakers this summer with a bit of leopard trim and I feel fun and trendy and young when I wear them. I get lots of compliments too! Thanks for confirming the white sneaker tip!
I love when you show examples
I really appreciate all your useful dressing tips. Many thanks to you for the video & cheers Marie Anne!
You are very welcome x
Marie Anne, you look absolutely beautiful and I love that outfit with red trousers and white t- shirt! and I LOVE high- waisted trousers!
Loved this video Marie Anne just your enthusiasm made you look sooo young
Toujours au top du top, avec l'humour en plus, comme d'habitude!
Just love Marie Annes advice, humour and presentation
Merci Anne 🤗
Hi Kya,
After each medical skin peel I had, my dermatologist told me to slather my face with Vaseline to help it heal.
@@SuperAllears I must agree. I react to everything and together with 50spf, slugging is my go to secret.
Not sure if I commented on this but I LOVED all your tips and suggestions. Thanks Marie-Anne
Hello Marie-Anne
Thanks for sharing those amazing tricks to help us look great and younger.
I feel rejuvenated just by seeing your energy!
Great tips Marie-Anne !
Tu est un joyaux …!
Love it! I have recently thought of great jeans as shapewear in itself! Love that you talked about this too!
Great video, great suggestions. I can do them all. They are so helpful. Thank you for sharing them.
Ohhh my dear Marie- I love you 🥰. Thank you for this beautiful video. I think correct hair cut is also a factor to look younger.
Chère Marie-Anne, J’apprécie tous vos conseils, toutes vos vidéos ; celle-ci est vraiment magnifique et dynamisante : merci ❣️
This video is the best. So lively!
Bright colors- I love them and always did👍😎
I don’t like “concealing” areas I don’t like, I prefer to minimize them or distract from them. There are many ways to do this without concealing them.
Bon soir Marie-Anne, all these 10 style tricks are gold and with a smile in the face, they are " Platin "!🤩🙋♀️
Marie-Anne loved this video- so true all of them. Wearing a good fitted bra definitely is number one! Yes who wants to look like granny! Your ideas for lookin young were perfect !! ☺️

I really enjoyed this video! one of the best style tips! i wonder why I'm just now seeing this video as my notifications are one
Marie-Anne you are FABULOUS! Thank you for the great tips! I send you LOVE from Montreal-- the fashion capital of Canada!
Merci Paula 😘
I'm 70 and have very smooth facial skin. I recently changed all my makeup and it really makes a difference on how I look. I am also concentrating on my posture. No more walking around with my shoulders up to my ears. With three back surgeries behind me, I'm looking forward to less backaches.
Posture is very important Lucinda x
😂 love the whip sound between each style suggestion. ❤
Fantastic. J'ai bien ri aussi! Thanks for all the tips.
An absolutely wonderful video and everything you said is the truth!
Some excellent tips! When it comes to bras, l always get wide shoulder straps and wide side panels. They both make you look smoother and slimmer!
Buona sera dear Marie-Anne.Great tips .I always enjoy your videos.Colour for me is so important.A lovely colour can always make one feel happy.
I dunno i like medium length skirts to the knee or around there and longer ones. I stopped wearing mini skirts. Also anything that flares out in shape is good for hiding hips. And you are so right about the bra. I recently started wearing a really good one and the difference is unbelievable!
This is fabulous! Thank you so much ❤
You are very welcome 😘
Great ideas. Loved them all.
Well, here's my youthful appearance trick: I tell everyone that I'm 5 years older than my real age, lol. As I look younger than that anyway, you can imagine the admiring looks I get. " Ooooh, you don't look anything like 83. You look about late 60s!"
See? Instant, non-surgical, and just slightly wicked.
😂😂
Marie-Anne, I just discovered you and I love your style and your commentary!
Thank you Marie Anne… Inspire me when assist my older clients… 💕…
You are very welcome
Marie-Anne, you are awesome! I love all your rejuvenating factors and the sound of the whip follow by how years we shaved off. You are so funny and fashion smart!
