Ooh, that guitar percussionr intro of Don Felder and Joe Walsh gets to me every time! Phenomenal musicianship, songwriting, beautiful singing and tight harmonies. Simply perfrection and performed with so much passion and feeling.The Eagles will go down in history as one of the greatest bands of all time. They're certainly one of my all-time favourites. There was just something so special about music back then and I just don't feel like today's music can quite measure up. ♥♥♥♥♥

Yes... I saw a documentary where Don Henley was describing how much work they put in so they could sound so much like their studio versions. As he said it doesn't happen by chance and takes a hell of a lot of preparation and rehearsing - true professionals.
“One of These Nights” (1975) was inspired by the soul music Glenn Frey was listening to when he started composing it on the piano. Artist like B.B. King and Al Green were a big influence on many tracks of the album. In an interview, Frey explained: “It’s like, puttin’ things off… Everybody I’m sure has said, ‘One of these nights I’m gonna…’ Gonna drive back to that restaurant an’ take that waitress in my arms, whatever. Find that girl, make that money, buy that house. Move to that country. Any of that stuff. Everyone’s got his ultimate dream, savin’ it for ‘someday.’ And ‘someday’ is up to you.” Glenn Frey cited this as an example of how he and Don Henley clicked as songwriters : “I’d go over to the piano and say, ‘Hey, what do you think of this?’ I’d play something, and he’d go, ‘Yeah, I like that, I like that.’ Maybe just get up and start singing. The biggest US rock band of the 70s. Highest respect. Sheer talent and mastery of craft. Nothing else. Heard this song so often in 36 yrs, but this version is one of the finest.
Timothy B Schmit was ok but by then the Eagles were over. And his neutral stance (or ass-licking of Frey and Henley) in the Felder-drama made him a wimp. His greatest contribution to music history was the chorus to ”I won’t hold you back”.

I used to listen to Eagles when i was young in the 00s but i never realised how every single member seemed to be multi talented. I never knew it was the drummer who sang this song. Amazingly talented performers.
