I’m so thankful for your video. Took me about 30 minutes to replace, but easy fix. Only cost me about $8 for the kit and $22 for the Socket Ratchet Wrench Set on Amazon. Cheap and easy fix. Thank you kindly.
Our car was stuck in drive and blocking a neighbor's driveway. I found your video and my husband was able to use your instructions to reconnect the gear shift and drive it home. THANK YOU!!
Ken, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!! This video easily saved us several hundred dollars. The issue you showed in this video mirrored the issue we had on our Corolla. Girlfriend woke up to go to work, shifter did not want to move and car did not want to start. Automatically, one begins to think the worse. I am grateful to have come across your video🙏🙏🙏🙏.
Thank you sir! Got home to fix my daughters car just the way you described it. She sat with me the entire walkthrough and helped out too. I didn’t have that bushing, but I did use a thick rubber grommet that fit snugly over the metal rod that holds the shifter in place. 🙌
I literally have the exact same issue to a tee. Janky shifter, dirty car, 100°+ weather. This niche video just saved me so much money and stress. Thank you, sir, god bless.
Actually let me correct myself. I didn't fix it. I got the gear shifter to work so that I could drive it again. It would probably take me like 30 minutes to get it done.
Thanks for the vid, couldn’t have done it without it.. one thing I want to add.. this part sucks, and costs more compared to the original you can buy from the dealership.. it seems to be made of hard ruber almost plastic and is much harder to instal compared to the oem one from dealer which is under $3 and not $11 like the one shown in this vid..
That was amazing that’s what mine is doing will get to it thank you bless your hearth! I like that party where you said for you ladies and yes those mechanics are a piece of work! I understand yeah you go to school or whatever but sometimes you guys get ridiculous. Thank you again for your video!!!
The shifter pin should be the the same as the Toyota Sienna and what I used was the dorman 14797. Install bushing on shifter pin first then cable loop second. Its easy.
J have toyota camry1992 2.2 automatic transmitions. Work this position PARKING REVERSE NEUTRAL DONT WORK DRIVE 2 and L .Where is the problem electric or mehanical.Could be the problem neutral safety switch ?shifter? , solenoids.?.When j put in reverse run great also neutral and PARKING work there us no problem . J change fluid and oil filter but that not fix the problem.DRIVE 2 and L don't work .Any suggestions any advice?
My toyota occasionally wont come out of P unless I press on the manual release button. Can it be the same problem like here? Someone told me it is because of a faulty brake switch.

My gear shifter would move and go into all the gears but my car did not requester and staid in park. Is that the same thing? Please help!
Could be.... it's an easy thing to check if you follow the video
My toyota occasionally wont come out of P unless I press on the manual release button. Can it be the same problem like here? Someone told me it is because of a faulty brake switch.
Could be brake switch or shift interlock
Can this cause your car not to go into parking or reverse from neutral?
Absolutely
Will it work with the GM bushings ?
not sure, they are cheap enough to just buy the correct ones.
Will this work on a 2008 Sienna as well? My wife’s van broke down last night with this same issue-I’m gonna try this today. Thanks man!!!
I'm not sure. Haven't done one of those yet but very possible
Wack you can’t even show the finish product
Why is it wack..... it looks the same but with a bushing on it.
Awesome information, thank you
