    While most manufacturers are coming up with all-new models to kickstart their EV revolution, Vauxhall’s growing lineup of electric cars all look rather familiar… The Vauxhall Corsa Electric has been facelifted for 2023 and is now also joined by a zero-emissions version of the long-running Astra family hatchback. Join Rich as he takes you on a tour of both cars in this British EV bonanza.

    Nice car, insane pricing. Especially when considering the lack of bespoke EV architecture.

      There's really nothing amazing about a dedicated EV platform, many great EVs are in fact not dedicated platforms, such as the BMW i4 or Volvo XC40. The price is insane though, and the car is targeted solidly at the leasing market.

    Nice car but the price is crazy Stellantis are going to be hit hard when the Chinese arrive plus if Renault and VW come in with promised cars for less than€25,000 the game will change.

    • @snich63

      In New Zealand where Chinese vehicles are not subject to tariffs and are quite a but cheaper than Europe, Opel is currently selling the Mokka-E at a (theoretically temporary) deep discount to compete.

      @video99couk Год назад

      But a lot of the Chinese manufacturers are in financial difficulty. Who wants to buy a car from a far distant manufacturer who is very likely going bust? Long term backup is important with an expensive purchase which needs resale value.

    Nice cars but crazy prices. I wonder what Vauxhall will be charging for these once the VW ID2 and Tesla Model 2 launch in a couple of years?

    • @tzeimet
      @tzeimet Год назад

      I don't think the VW ID.2 is going to come on the market as advertised for 25k€, likely there's going to be a base model car that nobody wants. Like the ID.3 40kWh a couple of years back.

    Why do manufacturers continues to use "All New" in their marketing? They very very rarely are actually ALL new, even if we ignore the fact the model name is the same.

    • @ks_00_sk
      @ks_00_sk Год назад

      With Vauxhall, “All New” is reserved for fresh generations of models and “New” is reserved for mid-life facelifts. Fresh generations involve drastic levels of new design, new tech and new power trains. Facelifts involve fewer developments and minor cosmetic changes.

    It's NOT a British EV, it's an EV with a British branding.
    Vauxhall hasn't had its own RND department since the 70s and basically just put its own branding on Opel cars and changed the steering wheel from left to right.

    £43,000 for a Vauxhall Astra? 😱 No wonder why Tesla is wiping the floor with the competition. This is nuts that a Vauxhall costs so much. It's not even a bespoke EV based on a bespoke EV only platform.
    For that £43,000 Astra price, you can get a brand new Tesla Model 3 RWD / Model Y RWD that can do 305 / 283 miles of range respectively.
    OR
    For around £32,000 you can get a used 2020 Model 3 AWD Long Range that can do 348 miles of range.
    OR
    For around £36,000 you can get a used 2020 Model 3 AWD Performance that can do 329 miles of range.
    I know I would definitely buy a Tesla Model 3 AWD if I had that kind of money to blow on a Vauxhall. And I don't even like Tesla.
