Great ranking! No arguments here on any of your placements. There's one main reason Axel 4 is better than Axel 2 - air special. It's definitely one of Axel 4's best and safest moves. That and his "Cody" punch infinite, of course (it does help him a lot). I really hope the devs are looking at things and reduce the recovery on all of the Axel's grand uppers. Using them in mania gets you killed. Hell, Axel 4 needs a straight overhaul - movement increase, s on f.special, reduced recovery on pretty-much everything!!
I wish they didn’t clap him as hard as they did with the balance patch; now I can’t even tell if he or SOR2 Skate is better, and whether either are still S-tier contenders...
Used to hate Adam, then poured some time into him. He has EVERYTHING. Best back attack, pairs well with other characters, good range, etc. And I'm ALWAYS playing with Floyds online, lol
I’m actually fine with Axel 4 being the worst character in the game, I immediately learned Grand Upper is a finisher when there is one character on the screen or when you have space. There is no good time to do it otherwise. Playing Axel feels like an exercise in self control and pent up aggression. You don’t get many chances to pop up off, you pretty much have to play the jab/stun/loop game...but when you do get the right set up, Axel can melt. Also am I the only one that thinks the Kabobobo ( probably spelt that wrong ) robots mini bosses in stage 1 are the hardest fight for Axel in the whole game? If you let even 1 of them get out of the jab stun loop with Axel he simply doesn’t have the speed to contain them.

surprised that Blaze in SOR4 is above Blaze in SOR3. Blaze in SOR3 has invincibility in her blitz, so I found her one of the easiest characters to beat Mania mode.
Honestly the first thing I noticed about the SoR 1 characters when I first played them was how powerful they were. They do so much damage with their auto-combos that even without their special they can melt bosses. And the combo is so fast that it legit is worth mashing it out on wakeup because you can move before they react.
Most of them are accurate but I have to disagree with SOR2 Axel. You can do crazy combos with him since his normal 5 hit combo hits fast, bounces enemies from the corner after connecting with Grand Uppa. Then you can combo again while they are in the air. Furthermore, he has a faster recovery from his defensive special compared to SOR4 Axel. His jumping attack has a longer range than SOR4 Axel.
I fare better with him compared to other characters but what really kills my game with SOR2 Axel is his range, i don't mind the recovery of the jabs, though donovan's always catching me first always get me killed

As SOR2 Axel Donovan can hit you first if you are idle and in his attack range, that's why you have to take a step forward or diagonally against him to hit him before he does his attack, it's even worse with SOR3 Axel, sometimes when i just get pissed about it i switch to SOR4 Axel just to have my revenge lol, the difference is immediately felt, as SOR4 Axel you can hit them before they even stop to attack you One workaround to this is the back attack, though it's very unreliable when you're surrounded with multiple types of enemies, his back attack has a two arms length range, you can also spam his grand upper against them, it has a good range as well as little recovery, whenever there's only Donovan's in my front i spam it
I love how the entire streets of rage 3 cast are in A tier or better while not even all of the Streets of Rage 4 characters can claim that. The greatest flaw of 4 is that its built on top of SoR2, not 3. SoR3 added a lot of new systems that made for a much better gameplay experience and aside from Adam and Cherry SoR4 feels like a big step back from SoR3. Its like they wanted to make Axel Look like a badass and forgot to make him feel like a badass.
Everything about SOR4 is a step backwards. Bare Knuckle 3 and SOR Remake make SOR4 irrelevant, not to mention many other significantly better beat 'em ups. People are trying SOOOO hard to convince themselves that SOR4 is great
Oh yeah a couple more differences between skate 2 and skate 3 -Skate 2 has a stronger jumping down attack and probably the strongest one in the game -He can actually combo a dash attack after a back grab -Vault throw does wall bounce on 2 but not on 3 -Forward special can hit otg
Been playing with Axel 2. He does a lot of damage off the walls and has the fastest flurry by far. He's my most recent character and I'll say he's heavily underrated right now. He isn't that slow, but the biggest knock against him is his range. He has poor range.
Great ranking list. It's sad how they messed up axel's 4 character. He's just terrible, blaze is more mobile and better at crowd control, Floyd is way more damaging, Cherry is faster and maybe just as strong...
The hit boxes on the retro characters, are super duper off, like there not finished or something, they did a lazy job with including them, in my opinion, like they just shortcuted them in.
I don’t know why people hate so much on Axel Stone SR4 he’s a monster if you’re patient he feeds off mistakes and whiffs. Yeah he’s basic but he gets the job done I finished Mania rather easily with him.
Axel SOR4 actually has the best infinite in terms of needing the least compared to the others. Not the wall infinite....the other one I call "Old School" and you don't need the wall for that plus works on all bosses including heavy ass commissioner. He's also one of, if not the best for team combos (irrelevant since that's 4P but in case you wanted to know).
I don't like playing with none of the SOR 1 characters.. all of them lack something that SOR 2 3 and 4 characters have and thats Side and Defensive specials.. Regardless of how hard they hit.. mashing one button is not enough too keep me playing them
No wonder I gravitated towards Adam. He really does feel great to play, even if you're just a regular player. I feel sorry for Cody but I love the noise Adam makes with his arial attack.

Floyd is my favorite. His throw game is the best. Super is good crowd control and His special is high damage when grabbing enemies with electrocution. slow walk speed but makes up for it greatly.
Seems about right for current version of the game. Although I might change the order within the ranks in a couple of instances I think you nailed the ranks and your justifications are spot-on.
Nice list! They really should cut some recovery frames on Axel 4's moves. Most of his special moves just take too much time to recover, leaving him too open to speedier thugs. And, of course, make him a little faster.
@@SuperArppis he's the best when it comes to defeating bosses because he does very high damage to single enemies. But when taking on hordes of enemies attacking from every angle, his weaknesses show. But he's still my favorite, followed closely by Blaze 😀.

Axel 4 actually has another infinite that looks like Floyd's punch loop and much easier to perform as well than charge kick infinite. l think this infinite makes him a lot better too.
Really good and well-thought-out list! I do basically agree with your SoR4 character placement the most since I barely play the retro characters. Only one question: Any reason why Floyd’s jab lock infinite wasn’t mentioned? I found it to be a lifesaver in Mania since I could essentially delete the Commissioner, Barbon, and (if I’m lucky) Estel and Shiva, and it can also just be a super strong way to handle crowds of enemies without jumping attacks. My guess is it slipped because of how much else about him is so strong 😂
@Yoni Arousement gotcha grab loop is easily his fastest way to delete bosses. His punch infinite does only as much per loop as Blaze's, and animates slower, while his charge punch throw loop does a hell of a lot of burst damage at once and is a true infinite anyway loool
Honestly Blaze 4's air special mobility is primarily useful when juggling a defeated enemy to the next wave :U you only get the double kick if you actually get a hit confirm. Otherwise jump spam is probably her best basic movement (the recovery time on a whiffed air special feels like? it outweighs the distance traveled) Among sor1 it probably comes down to the same tiering as the source game, ie Blaze move speed and reach op. Technically Axel 1 should? have a stronger corner juggle with full standing string into... another full standing string, but I always end up getting a better score in boss rush with blaze 1 anyway.
Also as a Blaze main and biased pro Blaze propagandist, hell yes Blaze 2 the absolute worst. They started with the worst character of the game that got overall the weakest retro showing in this game and basically didn't fix any of her main problems from that game :c forward special wonkiness being one of them
Here I thought Adam would be somewhere at the bottom, because the dash is all he has. He has the worst throws in the game. The neutral special is only serviceable, while the other 2 are too high risk, because they are slow. You will struggle to not instantly lose the green health with him. The blitz move only finds use in the corner and even then it has long recovery. Yes his heavy is good, but then again, so are other character's heavies and it's still on the slower side. Meanwhile Blaze's mobility problem is solved with double air special and her damage goes through the roof once you start combining her forward special with heavy attack. If anybody doesn't die from that, you can still put in the extra work with her otg blitz move.
His charged attack (boot) is very effective. He also has an infinite using it that's extremely good for crowd control. He's hard to use, which is why you probably think he sucks.
I like her too, but she's hard to use. A future patch is going to make Cherry much better. More damage across the board, faster offensive special and other improvements.
I will say in favor of SOR2 Axel is that his grand upper can wallbounce and combo into itself, but yeah that is all he gets, great overview of all the characters.
Yeah, I started off the game with Axel and found it quite difficult indeed. The second I unlocked Adam I switched to him, and it became a breeze. I was struggling on normal with Axel originally, but I could do hard without breaking a sweat with Adam. In my initial impressions on the game on a video a few weeks back when it released, I mentioned how much I loved the game but how there appeared to be a big issue with character balance in the game. Also, nice to have it confirmed that the SoR1 character do way more damage with their regular attacks than the other characters; I mean I felt like it they did, like ALOT more, I immediately noticed it upon unlocking them, but according to the in-game character data they don't. Always nice to see I was not mistaken ^_^. They really should make some of the in-game information more accurate though.
I’m so glad Adam is one of the best characters n the game, because the developers ditched him after the first game in favor of questionable other characters. Now he got his revenge!
Ok, I STRONGLY disagree with SoR4 Axel being so low down, he should be A tier. his damage output is absoloutly insane, he has good range on his attacks, his jump special is one of the best in the game. He has several infinite combos, he does suffer from being left open (mostly with grand upper or his offencive special) BUT, you can cancel out of grand upper into his defencive special to make it safe. As for mobility, he actually does have options, his air special for one covers alsmot full screen distance, and his charge attack kick can be canceled into his back attack which makes him slide foward (similar to an adam dash) and can be repeated., cancepling the back attack into the charge attack etc, to make him dash foward multiple times. tricky to do, but between those two things he actually has the best mobility of all the Axel's once you get used to it. You are really under selling him, de deserves to be A tier.
I solo finished Mania first with Max lol. It took me a while as i don't have that much skill with avoiding dmg and such but i found him to be rather fun once i figured out his style. I star move is excellent when you box the ememies on the side. I grab a trash and spin kickin the crap out of the boss lol. Too ez.
Guess I'll have to defend sor4 axel. Ok axel is like a paint brush, you can use him to draw basic stuff in the right hands he can create wonders.. Axel have an infinite actually two infinite one with wall bounce other one can happen on any parts of the stage. His throws are the best in the game...yes better than floyd because of thr arch. 2nd he does insane damage above all if you remove the infinites. His combo into charge attack into his defensive speical pushes him foward increasing his range tremendously. Axel only problem is his speed. Besides that his speicals are meant for one person but his combos are meant for multiple people his forth his gives off a devastating stun which allows you to attack behind and still finish a combo and but thats his infinite as well. Axel just needs speed. At first I thought axel was horrible compare to the other character, when I saw how easily he control crowds, his weapon usage capabilities, his throws, his infinite, errrrrr we're reaching for cool down on specials. Yes on walk speed or a run or dash but no on cooldowns and walk speed he would be miles ahead of the cast.
Great list, I think the only thing I would say different is Max > SOR1 characters cause his slide is still really good and makes him more mobile than them, he also dishes out more damage than them.
Yap. I'm nowhere near your skill level, but I think your ranking is solid. I can tell how broken Adam is, how crap Axel4 is. I kind of hope they patch it, at least fix Axel, it's so stupid. Like, the thing is, aside from Axel, SoR4 is the first Streets game I've played that the characters actually feel balanced, that I actually *don't* main, each has strengths and weaknesses, each fun for a different reason. So Axel being just shit is really quite disturbing if not plain frustrating. The rest of the list, I get it, it's probably correct. Great video!
Great video but you forgot about two of SOR3 Blazes moves. I would argue that SOR3 Blaze should be S Tier because of her invincible blitz and her back attack hits enemies on the ground and pops them up for more combos when you have enemies cornered. She is my main and while Blaze SOR4 has infinite combo her lack of mobility is what kills her for me. Only SOR2 Max and SOR3 Blaze have ground attacks that don’t use HP. SOR3 Blaze blitz attack is crucial for mania and it literally bypasses EVERY boss move. Don’t sleep on my queen.
I would just note that Shiva casually is terrible for coop play because it takes discipline to not just spam this auto combo and good luck finding that online, lol
I feel the 3 strongest characters are Max, Shiva, and SOR 3 Skate. I don't feel like Max struggles with anything and the higher difficulties don't change the way you play him at all. Max can match or exceed Shiva in speedrunning especially in certain stages. He has the fastest and most effortless shield break in the game thanks to his offensive special. He kills the commisoner the fastest out of anyone with how much damage his jab combo does. Only SOR 1 Axel comes close. I actually feel that's something you missed about the 1 characters since Axel looping the first 3 hits of his string is a lot of damage in a short amount of time. Max needs to be played differently than in SOR 2 but it is in no way worse. His attack string now deals the same amount of damage regardless of distance from the enemy. This is huge as you line up enemies and wail on them for massive damage and the rest all get sucked in. His back breaker throw is different but that also means you can combo off of it at the wall with his offesnive special. That's a full life bar and a half worth of damage immediately. His star move is also not just crowd control, it's insane boss damage since you again can combo off of it with the offensive special shoulder charge. A great combo is juggling at the wall and then after a shoulder charge, slide them off the ground then star move into shoulder and repeat. Absolutely melts bosses very quickly. Acknowledging that a full life bar is worth far more in 4 than in 2, the real throw damage nerf turns out to be the neck snapping front throw having one less hit than in 2. Though you can also combo off of it near the wall. My only complaint is the same glitchy issues that affect all retro characters. I don't like things like suplexing an enemy off a ledge only for them to float there and walk back onto ground.
Bro...great video man. Already liked. But there's one thing my dude. Skate3 is noooooooo where near S tier. No where. He's a tier and a half below Skate2 if you ask me. Here's why Brotha man: 1. His reach is probably worst in the game. Yeah...the speed makes up for it buuuut later in the game when higher AI mobs will stand back, or even back up, that's not tight. 2.Forward Blitz is TRASH. I feel like in Pt 3 it used to multi hit(I'm old enough to remember). In this? It rarely multi hits and just knocks everyone back and can put him out of position if you not careful. Skate2 forward Blitz is MUUUUCH better, due the invincibility frame on the start up, plus it leads RIGHT into combos. Plus it looks cooler than running and flailing your fists. 🤣 3. Skate3's headbutt is trash and gets punished maaaad easy. Way more than Skate2's. Skate2's launches Skate further from the enemy so it's safer and not as punishable. 4. I think that his kick throw only hits once, where as skate2's hits twice. Nah man. Bro Skate3 is probably B tier at very best. He MIIIIIGHT be sniffing at A tier...but nah dawg fam is B tier. At first I had him worst in the game behind Max til I really labbed dude.

The list seem fine but I Put Adam then Floyd then blaze. Floyd deals massive damage and I love you can grab your enemies and actually maneuver around the screen so you can aim at other enemies. Blaze is awesome but I'll take strength over speed any day.
3 Axel is too high his basic jab range is really bad he gets out spaced really hard by lots of enemies especially Donovan . I'd say 2 is way better in most regards just because most things have more range to it especially Jab and his knee drop and a sprint doesn't make up for getting stuffed on approach really hard by most enemies.
You said the only deference between the Sor 1 caracters is speed but i dont agree with that. The jump kick from adam can counter olmost everything in the game its insanely good. I would put adam in as A tier and the rest as B
i think sor 1 characters are really good. they don't have special attacks yeah but i learned that you should learn how to play with sp attacks and without them they have amazing dmg.my best scores are with blaze 1

SOR1 Axel is surprising tough as fuck. I was wondering why I was stomping through hardest with him so easily. His speed and range seem really strong. SOR1 blaze is also good. SOR1 Adam seems noticably slower than blaze and axel It does suck that sor4 axel is hot garbage.... Sor4 Adam and blaze seem like they should be in their own stand alone tier at the top. They are noticably better characters than the rest of the cast
I wrapped up getting all the achievements last night and I agree with your list for the most part but don't understand why SoR3 Blaze wasn't in S-tier. She's literally an i-frame machine. You can play through most levels without being hit and wracking up 200+ hit combos without much effort.
SOR2 Axel sucks so much, i was forced to take a maximal Help (+3 lives and +2 stars) at every level to have a chance to survive. He hasn't a sprint, his hitboxes are short and thin, his damage is low, his jumpkicks can be easily broken, he has no good star-move, he has no i-frames on his special moves, he hasn't fucking anything. It was so annoying to play as him. Definitely F-Tier.
@@thuggeegaming659 As a person who plays them quite regularly I have to say that the Streets 1 characters are only similar in the fact they have the same super. Blaze's auto combo has I frames at the end of it. Adam hits like a truck and Axle's headbutt throws enemies across the screen like a back throw.

Been playing with Axel 2. He does a lot of damage off the walls and has the fastest flurry by far. He's my most recent character and I'll say he's heavily underrated right now. He isn't that slow, but the biggest knock against him is his range. He has poor range.

Great ranking list. It's sad how they messed up axel's 4 character. He's just terrible, blaze is more mobile and better at crowd control, Floyd is way more damaging, Cherry is faster and maybe just as strong...

The hit boxes on the retro characters, are super duper off, like there not finished or something, they did a lazy job with including them, in my opinion, like they just shortcuted them in.

If I only knew that Sor 4 Axel made the game much harder on the first playthrough. Blaze is my favorite character in the game.
I don’t know why people hate so much on Axel Stone SR4 he’s a monster if you’re patient he feeds off mistakes and whiffs. Yeah he’s basic but he gets the job done I finished Mania rather easily with him.
Axel SOR4 actually has the best infinite in terms of needing the least compared to the others. Not the wall infinite....the other one I call "Old School" and you don't need the wall for that plus works on all bosses including heavy ass commissioner. He's also one of, if not the best for team combos (irrelevant since that's 4P but in case you wanted to know).
Floyd infinite is 10 times easier and you dont need a wall....thats just show you have actually skill with floyd

I don't like playing with none of the SOR 1 characters.. all of them lack something that SOR 2 3 and 4 characters have and thats Side and Defensive specials.. Regardless of how hard they hit.. mashing one button is not enough too keep me playing them

Streets of Rage Remake Max shits damage by the buckets *and* he has a run.
I'm surprised how great skate 3 was too. And he hit harder than he did in previous games.
Floyd is my favorite. His throw game is the best. Super is good crowd control and His special is high damage when grabbing enemies with electrocution. slow walk speed but makes up for it greatly.
Seems about right for current version of the game. Although I might change the order within the ranks in a couple of instances I think you nailed the ranks and your justifications are spot-on.
Nice list! They really should cut some recovery frames on Axel 4's moves. Most of his special moves just take too much time to recover, leaving him too open to speedier thugs. And, of course, make him a little faster.
After playing a lot of Axel 4. I found him bit better than what I thought of him. Still, you have to be really careful with him.
@@SuperArppis he's the best when it comes to defeating bosses because he does very high damage to single enemies. But when taking on hordes of enemies attacking from every angle, his weaknesses show. But he's still my favorite, followed closely by Blaze 😀.

Axel 4 actually has another infinite that looks like Floyd's punch loop and much easier to perform as well than charge kick infinite. l think this infinite makes him a lot better too.

Really good and well-thought-out list! I do basically agree with your SoR4 character placement the most since I barely play the retro characters. Only one question: Any reason why Floyd’s jab lock infinite wasn’t mentioned? I found it to be a lifesaver in Mania since I could essentially delete the Commissioner, Barbon, and (if I’m lucky) Estel and Shiva, and it can also just be a super strong way to handle crowds of enemies without jumping attacks. My guess is it slipped because of how much else about him is so strong 😂

@Yoni Arousement gotcha grab loop is easily his fastest way to delete bosses. His punch infinite does only as much per loop as Blaze's, and animates slower, while his charge punch throw loop does a hell of a lot of burst damage at once and is a true infinite anyway loool
Honestly Blaze 4's air special mobility is primarily useful when juggling a defeated enemy to the next wave :U you only get the double kick if you actually get a hit confirm. Otherwise jump spam is probably her best basic movement (the recovery time on a whiffed air special feels like? it outweighs the distance traveled)
Among sor1 it probably comes down to the same tiering as the source game, ie Blaze move speed and reach op. Technically Axel 1 should? have a stronger corner juggle with full standing string into... another full standing string, but I always end up getting a better score in boss rush with blaze 1 anyway.
Also as a Blaze main and biased pro Blaze propagandist, hell yes Blaze 2 the absolute worst. They started with the worst character of the game that got overall the weakest retro showing in this game and basically didn't fix any of her main problems from that game :c forward special wonkiness being one of them
I actually main SOR4 Axel. I do agree he needs a mobility and recovery buff though. Then he will absolutely crush

Here I thought Adam would be somewhere at the bottom, because the dash is all he has. He has the worst throws in the game. The neutral special is only serviceable, while the other 2 are too high risk, because they are slow. You will struggle to not instantly lose the green health with him. The blitz move only finds use in the corner and even then it has long recovery. Yes his heavy is good, but then again, so are other character's heavies and it's still on the slower side.
Meanwhile Blaze's mobility problem is solved with double air special and her damage goes through the roof once you start combining her forward special with heavy attack. If anybody doesn't die from that, you can still put in the extra work with her otg blitz move.
His charged attack (boot) is very effective. He also has an infinite using it that's extremely good for crowd control. He's hard to use, which is why you probably think he sucks.
It's pretty cool how Adam went from being pretty useless in his original game (SoR1 was not a game to be slow in) to the best character in this one.
Great vid. To me. It's best to pick two SOR4 characters best match your playstyle and one retro character you can rely on if things are tough.
Mostly agree, I think Cherry is S tier personally. A little hard to master but her combos and movement is crazy good. She has excellent specials too
I like her too, but she's hard to use. A future patch is going to make Cherry much better. More damage across the board, faster offensive special and other improvements.

I will say in favor of SOR2 Axel is that his grand upper can wallbounce and combo into itself, but yeah that is all he gets, great overview of all the characters.
Yeah, I started off the game with Axel and found it quite difficult indeed. The second I unlocked Adam I switched to him, and it became a breeze. I was struggling on normal with Axel originally, but I could do hard without breaking a sweat with Adam. In my initial impressions on the game on a video a few weeks back when it released, I mentioned how much I loved the game but how there appeared to be a big issue with character balance in the game. Also, nice to have it confirmed that the SoR1 character do way more damage with their regular attacks than the other characters; I mean I felt like it they did, like ALOT more, I immediately noticed it upon unlocking them, but according to the in-game character data they don't. Always nice to see I was not mistaken ^_^. They really should make some of the in-game information more accurate though.

Ok, I STRONGLY disagree with SoR4 Axel being so low down, he should be A tier. his damage output is absoloutly insane, he has good range on his attacks, his jump special is one of the best in the game. He has several infinite combos, he does suffer from being left open (mostly with grand upper or his offencive special) BUT, you can cancel out of grand upper into his defencive special to make it safe. As for mobility, he actually does have options, his air special for one covers alsmot full screen distance, and his charge attack kick can be canceled into his back attack which makes him slide foward (similar to an adam dash) and can be repeated., cancepling the back attack into the charge attack etc, to make him dash foward multiple times. tricky to do, but between those two things he actually has the best mobility of all the Axel's once you get used to it. You are really under selling him, de deserves to be A tier.

I solo finished Mania first with Max lol. It took me a while as i don't have that much skill with avoiding dmg and such but i found him to be rather fun once i figured out his style. I star move is excellent when you box the ememies on the side. I grab a trash and spin kickin the crap out of the boss lol. Too ez.

Guess I'll have to defend sor4 axel. Ok axel is like a paint brush, you can use him to draw basic stuff in the right hands he can create wonders.. Axel have an infinite actually two infinite one with wall bounce other one can happen on any parts of the stage. His throws are the best in the game...yes better than floyd because of thr arch. 2nd he does insane damage above all if you remove the infinites. His combo into charge attack into his defensive speical pushes him foward increasing his range tremendously. Axel only problem is his speed. Besides that his speicals are meant for one person but his combos are meant for multiple people his forth his gives off a devastating stun which allows you to attack behind and still finish a combo and but thats his infinite as well. Axel just needs speed. At first I thought axel was horrible compare to the other character, when I saw how easily he control crowds, his weapon usage capabilities, his throws, his infinite, errrrrr we're reaching for cool down on specials. Yes on walk speed or a run or dash but no on cooldowns and walk speed he would be miles ahead of the cast.

Great list, I think the only thing I would say different is Max > SOR1 characters cause his slide is still really good and makes him more mobile than them, he also dishes out more damage than them.
Yap. I'm nowhere near your skill level, but I think your ranking is solid. I can tell how broken Adam is, how crap Axel4 is. I kind of hope they patch it, at least fix Axel, it's so stupid. Like, the thing is, aside from Axel, SoR4 is the first Streets game I've played that the characters actually feel balanced, that I actually *don't* main, each has strengths and weaknesses, each fun for a different reason. So Axel being just shit is really quite disturbing if not plain frustrating. The rest of the list, I get it, it's probably correct. Great video!

Great video but you forgot about two of SOR3 Blazes moves. I would argue that SOR3 Blaze should be S Tier because of her invincible blitz and her back attack hits enemies on the ground and pops them up for more combos when you have enemies cornered. She is my main and while Blaze SOR4 has infinite combo her lack of mobility is what kills her for me. Only SOR2 Max and SOR3 Blaze have ground attacks that don’t use HP. SOR3 Blaze blitz attack is crucial for mania and it literally bypasses EVERY boss move. Don’t sleep on my queen.

I feel the 3 strongest characters are Max, Shiva, and SOR 3 Skate. I don't feel like Max struggles with anything and the higher difficulties don't change the way you play him at all. Max can match or exceed Shiva in speedrunning especially in certain stages. He has the fastest and most effortless shield break in the game thanks to his offensive special. He kills the commisoner the fastest out of anyone with how much damage his jab combo does. Only SOR 1 Axel comes close. I actually feel that's something you missed about the 1 characters since Axel looping the first 3 hits of his string is a lot of damage in a short amount of time.
Max needs to be played differently than in SOR 2 but it is in no way worse. His attack string now deals the same amount of damage regardless of distance from the enemy. This is huge as you line up enemies and wail on them for massive damage and the rest all get sucked in. His back breaker throw is different but that also means you can combo off of it at the wall with his offesnive special. That's a full life bar and a half worth of damage immediately. His star move is also not just crowd control, it's insane boss damage since you again can combo off of it with the offensive special shoulder charge. A great combo is juggling at the wall and then after a shoulder charge, slide them off the ground then star move into shoulder and repeat. Absolutely melts bosses very quickly. Acknowledging that a full life bar is worth far more in 4 than in 2, the real throw damage nerf turns out to be the neck snapping front throw having one less hit than in 2. Though you can also combo off of it near the wall.
My only complaint is the same glitchy issues that affect all retro characters. I don't like things like suplexing an enemy off a ledge only for them to float there and walk back onto ground.
Bro...great video man. Already liked. But there's one thing my dude. Skate3 is noooooooo where near S tier. No where. He's a tier and a half below Skate2 if you ask me. Here's why Brotha man:
1. His reach is probably worst in the game. Yeah...the speed makes up for it buuuut later in the game when higher AI mobs will stand back, or even back up, that's not tight.
2.Forward Blitz is TRASH. I feel like in Pt 3 it used to multi hit(I'm old enough to remember). In this? It rarely multi hits and just knocks everyone back and can put him out of position if you not careful. Skate2 forward Blitz is MUUUUCH better, due the invincibility frame on the start up, plus it leads RIGHT into combos. Plus it looks cooler than running and flailing your fists. 🤣
3. Skate3's headbutt is trash and gets punished maaaad easy. Way more than Skate2's. Skate2's launches Skate further from the enemy so it's safer and not as punishable.
4. I think that his kick throw only hits once, where as skate2's hits twice.
Nah man. Bro Skate3 is probably B tier at very best. He MIIIIIGHT be sniffing at A tier...but nah dawg fam is B tier. At first I had him worst in the game behind Max til I really labbed dude.
Skate 3 is literally throw into headbutt for massive damage and great crowd control. It does the job too well.

Max was tier S in Sor2, sad..
The list seem fine but I Put Adam then Floyd then blaze. Floyd deals massive damage and I love you can grab your enemies and actually maneuver around the screen so you can aim at other enemies. Blaze is awesome but I'll take strength over speed any day.
3 Axel is too high his basic jab range is really bad he gets out spaced really hard by lots of enemies especially Donovan . I'd say 2 is way better in most regards just because most things have more range to it especially Jab and his knee drop and a sprint doesn't make up for getting stuffed on approach really hard by most enemies.

i think sor 1 characters are really good. they don't have special attacks yeah but i learned that you should learn how to play with sp attacks and without them they have amazing dmg.my best scores are with blaze 1

SOR1 Axel is surprising tough as fuck. I was wondering why I was stomping through hardest with him so easily. His speed and range seem really strong. SOR1 blaze is also good. SOR1 Adam seems noticably slower than blaze and axel
It does suck that sor4 axel is hot garbage.... Sor4 Adam and blaze seem like they should be in their own stand alone tier at the top. They are noticably better characters than the rest of the cast
SOR1 Adam was the slowest while Axel had the weakest jump and Blaze did the least damage. I imagine its the same in SOR4.
I wrapped up getting all the achievements last night and I agree with your list for the most part but don't understand why SoR3 Blaze wasn't in S-tier. She's literally an i-frame machine. You can play through most levels without being hit and wracking up 200+ hit combos without much effort.
Blaze 4 just kills shit faster and besides Blitz, Blaze 3 is inferior in every other way. Damage is really the name of the game for S tier imo.
I agree with most of S tier except for Flyod. I hate how sluggish he is. Max feels better and he is SOR2. That slide helps a ton in mobiltiy
SOR2 Axel sucks so much, i was forced to take a maximal Help (+3 lives and +2 stars) at every level to have a chance to survive. He hasn't a sprint, his hitboxes are short and thin, his damage is low, his jumpkicks can be easily broken, he has no good star-move, he has no i-frames on his special moves, he hasn't fucking anything. It was so annoying to play as him. Definitely F-Tier.

They're all pretty similar but mikwuyama also has a tier list video and goes into more depth on their differences
@@thuggeegaming659 As a person who plays them quite regularly I have to say that the Streets 1 characters are only similar in the fact they have the same super. Blaze's auto combo has I frames at the end of it. Adam hits like a truck and Axle's headbutt throws enemies across the screen like a back throw.
I just want Roo in this game. :( Preferably a brand new Roo but I'll take SR3 Roo if I have to.
