I work in parts at a Land Rover dealership in Canada , new defender has a optional carbon fibre hood. We get them for around 11k, and sell them to the customer for 15k +tax. I know your hood is a completely different ballpark , looks sick . Just letting you know of 2022 prices.
so far i'd say the most expensive car, alone from its parts is your 33 hence the oem+ build (at this point nismo can be considered as an OEM+ option?) but... once the 270R is restored, she's going to top that build easy, and will be your most valuable car you have, even when you get your r34, it still should have a higher worth than the 34, except maybe for an M-Spec Nür. 270R restoration for sure.
100% agree with only using DHL to ship parts like that they seem to be from my experience the only company that actually is careful with packages because I've never had anything damaged using them. On the other hand I've fought with several other companies about broken parts being delivered and then having to fight with them to get reimbursed for the part and shipping.

You have to restore it. It’s the holy Grail of 240’s and the fact Your the gtr guy is cool but your also the rare Nissan guy and you need to embrace it.

"Feels like" is the exact same thing is the heat index....just an easier way for people to understand. Thats what it would feel like with no humidity. The higher the "Feels like", the less your sweat will evaporate due to humidity(thats why above 80% and 110 you will literally soak in your sweat and overheat in 10 mins)
Hood looks wet Carbon. Dry Carbon is flat no shine. White is a sealant applied after the mold process so the paint has something to adhere too as painting Carbon doesn’t last. Looks badass

If you shine a light in through where the hinge goes there is a plaque that shows what car it was belong to. I presume even if it was a replacement it will still halve a plaque for the car it was ordered for.
Tommy is doing this 100% right. Anyone who thinks that full body panels in exposed carbon looks good, has no taste. This is how you do it, exposed underneath (so you can still flex on people that care) and painted on the outside. Clean. Obviously, yes. Restore the 270R.

I bet you felt the same when i got my $8,000 TRD Front Bumper for my car i think i am the only guy outside of japan that has been able to source a brand new bumper and i think there only 4-5 outside japan
The hood is a work of art. It is carbon fiber with functional vents for the radiator and exits for hot air from the turbochargers. Even though it’s carbon, the fit and finish are flawless.
Actual temperature is measured in dry bulb which is without humidity, the “feels like” temperature is the wet bulb temperature with which factors in humidity.
Contempo Concept did a 400r resto a couple years ago and did a YT vid. The hood didn't seem to have an insulation piece either? It seems like they ordered the gamut of 400r parts. Did they possibly miss it?
i believe the 400r only had a foil type heat shield on the inside of the hood above the charge pipes. If you look at engine bay pics on google you can kind of see it in a few shots.
Makes a lot more sense why we see that style of hood vent (middle one) on a lot of kits. Also I get you wanna be oem as possible, but screw that under hood cover. If you find one you find one, but if not I think that carbon underside would look cool as hell left exposed
90% sure this is the one that we sent to Dubai with a complete 400r kit. We also have another 400R bonnet here for a customers S3 R33 GTR we are building.

What an awesome piece! Yeah getting pics of rare stuff is difficult. I struggled to find a picture of my 2017 GT86 fog light housing fitting. So can imagine Nismo pics are 100 times more difficulty to find.
I think feels like refers to the wind chill in the winter cause it can be like 40 in the sun but when the winds blowing it feels like 20 , love the content
TOMMY try Contempo Concept RUclips page, they did a resoration on a 400R and ordered the same hood, it has some under hood shots and them putting some pieces of the under hood on. May be able to contact them and ask them for the part numbers they used.
It is awesome having cars with these extremely rare parts but I could never justify spending my money like that when I could have multiple other builds going just for the cost of parts for a single build from Tommy but since it's his money it's definitely cool to watch lol
I mean if you got it... 🤑 I got the Benetec clone. It's the best aftermarket hood for the R33 GTR by far. Everything else is flimsy with some bs fiberglass vent added on.

The truth is everybody wants a resto on the 270R but the patina tells a story. Idk how to feel about a full respray and a new set of decals

Little fact.... Temperature you see on your apps is in the shade. The "real feel" factors wind and humidity along with ambient temp in the shade.

The little vents actually draw air into the bay. That area is a low pressure zone on the car.

Usually the RealFeel shit (usually a trademarked term) is based off humidity and ambient temp, maybe wind is added on sometimes.
