That mountain bike is really gnarly Tom. That front fork is a Fox 36 Factory and rear is Push Coil, probably the most baller setup you can have. I would recommend getting a “Shockwiz” which plugs into the fork and tells you if you need to add or remove air, compression, rebound, and volume spacers. As far as adjusting the push coil you need to change the spring so hopefully it’s the correct one for your weight but that still has adjustments. The shockwiz only works with air shocks, typically both are air but the push shock or a fox x2 is an expection. As far as the frame goes Evil is in the boutique frame companies like Yeti so that’s also baller. The drivetrain is the new sram axs 1x12 wireless drivetrain is the most baller setup out. The brakes are also just about as baller as you can get with Shimano Saints with the icetech rotors which are quad piston vs most are two. It’s a sweet bike, just remember to take car of it, high performance anything requires high performance maintenance.
This car is like the ultimate flex for your shop if you can bring her back to life.. I doubt there's many shops if anyone that could be talked into taking this job and doing it justice.
It can definitely be done and would be a huge flex, the issue is the cost… if the customer doesn’t want to spend the money then tommy isn’t going to and shouldn’t do anything just for the “flex”… ANYTHING is fixable, ANYTHING… it just depends on if the owner wants to pay the cost
If it’s covered in rust, chassis fcked, and plenty wrong with each panel, body not straight… then yes, it would be a huge flex. Otherwise it’s just these guys doing impressive work, which they’re more than capable to do
As a fiberglass guy, its really not that bad of a situation, definitely fixable. Im not sure what they had in mind, but it kinda seems like they were just gonna paint it and leave the foam underneath. Normally you put a barrier between the car and fiberglass so that it can be separated cleanly. I dont see anything like that here, unless they used pva. Pva is a thin clear green coating that dissolves in water. Pretty much wet the car and pull on the kit and it might come off clean. Even if they didnt put a barrier, fiberglass does not stick to metal well, and in this case the fiberglass is only being held on by the edges where it goes past the foam. It should be really easy to pry off once you get an edge to lift, use plastic pry tools. It could also just be cut and sanded off pretty quick, the foam might come off with a powerwasher, or a wirewheel/eastwood sct. Theres alot of good quality widebody kits for the r32, im not sure why anyone would waste their time doing it this way. Looking forward to seeing it restored to factory metal.
As a bike nerd that MTB bike is pretty much top of the line spec which looks to be the perfect trail bike. As for that junk Skyline how can you say NO to Mike Perry the dude is legend among MMA fans.
Been in the 90s all week, even been in the '80s every night, then suddenly this weekend hit. Definitely was the nice break in the temperature we needed..
@@Watchmedome3017 absolutely, perfect day to be out on the bike yesterday. Unfortunately I had some stuff to do all day but I really wanted to go to the Bikers Against Animal Cruelty event in North Haven. Heard it was a good time though
They would have used something like aluminum tape between the body & foam/fiberglass mess so it would be removable as one piece. They we're going to straight up bondo that shit in without cutting the rears.
I think you'll be able to restore it back to decent shape. Whoever did the work clearly didn't know what he was doing. Such a shame homie got ripped off like that. I would strip the entire car down, sand blast or acid dip it and then start the body work process. Gonna be a big project and hopefully one that pays well. Good luck
I can’t wait to see what it looks like when you scrape all that foam bullshit off but it looks like it might be savable to me. It just looks really bad as it sits. Thankfully the guy didn’t finish the job because otherwise I think Tommy is right and it would have looked so horrible when it was done.
I believe Tommy could save this R32 but with the amount of money already into it , I would probably just try to recoup the 14k thru lawsuit and buy a GTR, because its gonna cost 25k-35k to bring this thing to a place that looks good . So with everything he would be into it like 60k or more for a GTS-T idk if it was me I would just find a clean GTR and modify it tastefully
Restoring the car to stock, should easily be under 15K USD, if the car is rust free + straight. There are bulk bolt on parts for this car, as well as packages to suit this car, whether it's a LS package, brake package, suspension package, cooling package etc.
That's what happened to my 1969 Mustang! I bought a project Mustang and dropped it off at the body shop. I paid 50% up front for the respray work and a friend said they were just doing a bunch of coke and then ran out of coke and did a bunch of meth, got paint all over the cherry interior and ruined the car, leaving it out in the rain while I was deployed. SO 2 years later, I come back to a wreck and no money or body shop.. then I stripped the shell, drop it by a different body shop (didn't know the owner was one of the dudes that was a laborer at the meth shop) and he was clean for a bit... did some great work at first... then the dude started doing coke again with my money and my car nearly got seized when the police raided his place after he got busted for messing around with an underaged girl and when the police were investigating that, they found illicit things and he went to prison. SO I was able to JUST get my car from that shop. I started restoring it myself after that. I got a good bit of welding done on it and it was nearly ready for paint, so I dropped it off at a friends place who was doing good work, but honest work and his work visa ran out, so that was the end of that car. I tried three times to resurrect that thing, each time from a deeper grave, but then had to sell it as I was just needing to step away from the Mustang for a while/ forever maybe.
tbh tommy you got the shop and have josh and trevor there im sure you guys can make that R32 look brand new again, looks like to me once the body is fixed everything else would be cake for you

Gotta start saving these things man. Anyone can work on a car in good shape. it takes talent to bring a car back from the dead.
Save the car for him! Not like you really need anymore credability added to FYeahSpec but once you save this your name will be solidified as the go-to guy for Resto Skylines or any other car. I mean it already is but you get it. Hard to find shops that do everything the right way!

I’m honestly surprised at how Tommy handled the call to the customer. You come across a bit harsh but you set proper expectations and handled his concerns properly. Well done.
your Evil has the optional Push ElevenSix rear shock which is like 1200 new, insanely tunable I had one for awhile. fork has an MRP damper which is aftermarket, really nice piece. also the industry 9 wheels are pretty sick, wreckoning is a gangster bike for sure, nice purchase
*Motive Video* has just released video explaining why higher hp RB's needs upgrade to cam trigger kit if you want to learn some proven facts.
Tommy talking about his bike saying he doesn't buy twice 😂 2 rx7s multiple gtrs , Hondas evos etc all built the same 😂
