I dont know why anyone would say not to watch a film in any series that you are watching, its part of the story, and thats especially true with this movie.
You obviously haven't seen Robocop 3, Superman 3, or A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, 5, & 6. Sometimes it's better to stop early, or skip over the bad entries.
@@Rocket1377 nah
I don't get it, either. If they don't like the movie, then they just don't have to watch the reaction to it. Easy as that. Why rob people, who do enjoy the movie, of a reaction and not let the reacting person decide for themselves whether or not they like it?
I wish people would stop doing that too. Or that more reactors would be like Centane and just ignore them. Just about every reactor out there gets convinced to drop big franchises because some of the movies aren't great. Alien, Predator, Terminator, Die Hard, the list goes on. The reactors should be watching them all and forming their own opinions.
@Rocket1377 Nightmare on Elm Street's the Dream Trilogy is definitely not to be missed. Not all of them are great, but they are essential... famous to horror fans. Also, for film buffs they are notable because they are helmed by three future big-time Directors; Stephen Hopkins, Renny Harlin and Chuck Russell. If you don't know, the Dream Trilogy is 3,4 and 5.
Rocky V is very underrated.
Imo it took the series back to its roots of drama.
From Rocky 1 to 4, it got less dramatic and more action, which is fun and all but the story can’t go anywhere.
As I got older, I appreciated Rocky V a lot more.
Yo, absolutely. Some people like the "Michael Bay" treatment 3 and 4 got but without 1 and 2's character building and substance they are just cartoons.
The movie fails at an emotional level, it's very young and immature. Sure, it's entertaining, but how Rocky humiliates himself by the end is always hard to watch.
@@MS-ro9dm There is no character building nor substance in this movie. If you pay attention, there's not even character arc. When the movie starts, Rocky is a good father. Then he knows this young boxer, he sees himself in him, and train him at the cost of not paying attention to his family. At the end, the young boxer turns against him for no reason.
So Rocky stars a good father and ends a good father since... now he changed his ways after training a failure of a kid? Wait but the kid won thanks to him... so what's the message? What's the character arc? There's not at all, it's a mess. It's very bad written. Silvester Stalone dislikes this movie a lot. I don't think it's bad but it has huge narrative problems.
@@Alfonso88279 Indeed, after one and two the franchise went from cinema to being movies. I don't know that there was a choice though. It was what was selling at the time and the need to outdo the previous was large. A lot of people seemingly wanted them to fail. ( I should not say "people" but "critics").
My favorite two scenes in this film are Rocky remembering Mick at the old gym and when Adrian sets Rocky straight in the street.
This. This right here is the most underrated Rocky film in the franchise.
"All those beatings you took in the ring, I took them with you!" - WHAT a line,
I just want to say how cool it is seeing you get more comfortable as a reactor, from when you first started till now. Its fun to see you and others of the younger generations discovering things like the Rocky collection. Its truly timeless.
Rocky 5 is the weakest of all of them, but that doesnt make it a bad movie!
I agree. I don't think Rocky V is a bad movie, but its my least favorite of the Rocky franchise and definitely a step down.
Sly always expressed regret with the 5th installment, he once said it should've ended in the ring like all the others.
I like it better than 4, easily.
@9sunskungfu he probably says that becsuse of all the hate it gets.
Rocky's little magic trick pulling something out of Robert's ear was an homage to real life world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali. Ali loved slight of hand magic and liked to perform impromptu tricks to amuse his friends. During a feature TV report (I think it was on the ABC network's 20/20 news magazine show) about about Ali's struggle with Parkinsonism in his later years, the report voiced concerns about the evident deterioration of Ali's health and abilities observed during the time the reporter and crew spent with him, but it ended with a clip Ali deftly performing a magic trick for the reporter to show that the smooth, clever Ali of yesterday was still in there.
Sage Moonblood Stallone (May 5, 1976 - July 13, 2012) was an American actor. He was the eldest child of actor Sylvester Stallone.
You know, I’m not ashamed to say this is the Rocky movie that hits me hard on an emotional level. It’s still got a healthy balance of love and hardship. And It’s a big lesson in life.. the ending song by Elton John is beautiful and perfect and so underated and inspirational
😭I cry every time when I see him hug his son and say, thank you for being born. 🤧
This is almost my favorite! I love this movie! Favorite line is “You knocked him down, how about try knockin’ me down”!
INTENSE!!!!!
Tommy "The Duke" Morrison (January 2, 1969 - September 1, 2013) was an American professional boxer and mixed martial artist who competed from 1988 to 2009. Best known for his iconic left hooks and dangerous punching power, Morrison won the WBO heavyweight title in 1993 with a unanimous decision victory over George Foreman!
he is still often mentioned as the most dangerous left hook ever
His fight manager let a rumor spread that he was somehow related to John Wayne.
Rocky V is great. It’s just different, it takes back to his roots. I know it’s sad but it’s got a good message and it’s a good movie.
Rocky's kid sure grew from the time of the fight to when Rocky came home from the fight.
I'm glad you didn't listen to the people telling you not to watch stuff. You'll be surprised what you'll end up liking when you see it for yourself. The more I've watched this movie, the more it has grown on me, especially as an adult. And Tommy Gunn (real name Tommy Morrison) was a real boxer and one of the greatest. He had amazing knockout power.
Many don't like this because of how jarring it is from the superhero tone of the 4th film. This went back to basics and I love it for that reason. There is a director's cut that's darker but also more in line with what the director wanted. I know Stallone is currently making a new edit for the film that'll likely be better received.
Rocky trusts Paulie unconditionally so it's likely that he trusted whatever papers Paulie handed him and signed it without reading. So the tax/accountant issue is possible.
Rocky is suffering from brain damage, so the way he's acting is understandable. Remember in Rocky 2 when he was told he had to retire he told Mick he needed to be around boxing since that was all he knew to do to support his family. Here he's right back to that but he can't break his promise so he sees Tommy as a way to be around it.
George Washington Duke is based on Don King, a boxing promoter who was very over the top and had some shadiness to him especially with Mike Tyson.
23:04 “why don’t you fight the red head in the front row!? I hear she comes real cheap!” 😂
Damn bro, why is she catching strays.
That guy is a savage for that. 🤣
Never listen people who tell you not to watch something because they don’t like. Make up your own mind.
A cena de rocky e mickey valeu todo esse filme❤ simplesmente Emocionante😢
i was one of the tiny few that said to watch it. This is my favorite Rocky movie.
rocky v is so underrated, i dont know why some ppl seem to dislike it. yes it's a liytle different but its got so much heart and good moments
so glad u decided to watch it and enjoyed it camilla 😊 the next one is also great but then creed is phenomenal
The fate of Tommy Morrison, who played Tommy Gunn , and actually became heavy weight boxing world champion in 1993 , was so sad. And his career so promising.
I gotta say. I missed seeing your reactions since I've I finished watching them all. Hello new subscriber for about a month or so. I get such joy from seeing you react to these videos. Your beauty and heart always makes me smile.
I watched all the rocky movies as a kid during the 90s and loved them all, find them all rewatchable and total classics. it wasnt till a few years after the internet was a thing that i found out people didnt like some of the rocky movies, blew my mind : P
Loved watching this with you -- I never saw this originally, and having caught it after re-watching the others up to this, really made it special. Hope you got through work alright!! (you said you had to work after, so...)...
I love your reactions. Gorgeous Centane 🌹
interms of story, and acting, ROCKY 5 is actually good, it's usually just overshadowed by cringey and cheesy scenes, I use to hate this movie when I was a kid, but as a grew up, I started to appreciate it as it is, it's still not the best Rocky Movie, but I like it better than ROCKY 4.
Definitely better than 4.
It is better than Rocky 4. I appreciate Rocky 5 now more than I used to. I only wish it had been a little grittier like the first Rocky was.
I just think there's no point to watch 3 and 4 if you aren't going to watch 5. You should either watch just 1/2 for the Apollo Creed series, 1-5 for the original rocky series, or just watch every rocky and creed movie if you want to see the whole universe.
It was trash
Rocky v is underrated in terms that when we saw it as kids...we loved the struggle and the fight and the win about it. Rocky V did not have any of this in terms of how we viewed it when many of were young watching rocky v for the first time..specially coming off that amazing high from Rocky III and IV. Rocky V is a great movie.
I'm so glad you watched the credits. Haven't seen any other reactor do that.
Your own experience is your best friend!!!! Glad you are reviewing this.
Yayyyyy!!! I'm so happy you didn't skip this! 😊
13:09 ....
-Kamilla: "True, Paulie.... I-I mean.... No violence"
-Me: 🤣🤣🤣
V is the hidden gem!
You're totally right! This movie is not that bad..at all! I'm loving your reactions! Thank you!
I don't understand why this movie gets hate, its one of my favorites in the Rocky franchise
i liked it. ty Centane !
RIP always to Sage Stallone(who plays Rocky Jr.) and Tommy Morrison(Tommy Gunn)!!!
I've been looking forward to you continuing on with your "Rocky" journey. 😊
This is a decent movie. Not great, but it does have some great performances by Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Sage Stallone, and Burt Young. And some really good scenes, like the Mickey flashback and the street fight at the end.
Up next is "Rocky Balboa".
Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
Really enjoy watching movies with you. Thanks
if you didnt know tommy was a real fight called tommy morrison he won the heavyweight title and retired with 48 victories 3 losses and 1 draw!
pretty much everyone says that the next film, "rocky balboa," is excellent. Stallone won awards for it.
The last Rocky movie is actually my personal favorite. Glad you are enjoying the journey. 🙂
a series of re-shot emotional scenes from all the previous movies. Bordering on incomprehensible.
I like this one. I know a lot of people expected a Hollywood ending. But the gritty realism is what makes it work.
It has always been my theory that George Washington Duke had something to do with Rocky's financial troubles in this film, as a means of getting Rocky to fight with Duke promoting him.
I really liked Rocky 5 also. I think that those who didn't like it were never that emotionally invested in the character of Rocky.
I enjoyed your reactions to the Rocky movies and I look forward to seeing your reaction to the last one, which I will watch tomorrow.
Thank you for continuing with the Rocky saga.
Adrian always have the tear jerking speeches...
Good for you for watching what you want
I never understood all the hate for Rocky V. I thought it was a solid chapter to the Rocky story. Certainly a nice return to realism from the corny music video that was Rocky IV. I thought it added depth to Rocky's family life and showed some of the dirt that has always surrounded professional boxing. 🔥💯👍
I said the same thing about Godfather 3.
It's an average movie. For people who wanted a cinematic masterpiece like the 1st film, they didn't get it. And for the people who wanted over the top stuff with iconic moments like Rocky 3 & 4, they didn't get that either. So it was a disappointing movie overall for the majority of the fans.
I think because most of it was depressing. At the time
because it has so much setbacks and disapointments for rocky and the other beloved characters... nobody really wants to see their heroes go through so much trouble... and even without a big happy end... more like a small happy end. and the on top of it all it was the movie that ended the story at that time, and apart from his family he lost almost everything in the end. that is just sad. and i think all of this piles together in rocky 5 as i wold not say hated, but unloved for what this movie did to the nice guy rocky is....
As the finale of the Rocky saga is ends on a pretty sour note especially seeing them basically lose everything but with Rocky balboa in existence this film works much better
Girl you are gorgeous and adorable 🔥🔥 sweet smile
Thanks for reacting to this film.
Hi Kamilla, you look cute!🙂I've always thought the best part of the film was the fight at the end. Nice reactions to your fifth Rocky film, Kamilla!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
21...I remember when I was 21. It seems like it was yesterday. With a blink of an eye, I am 49...Where did the time go?
Rocky Balboa is my favorite movie in the series. Can't wait for you to watch it.
Rocky V is definitely the most underrated and under appreciated out the series. I only wish that they had the final fight in a ring somehow. As well as the time jump it’s like, how long did they have to stay over there.
Rocky 5 is a great movie. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to rocky 6.
For those wondering about the dedication to Jane Oliver: From IMDb: "Jane Oliver was Sly Stallone's first personal manager. She died of cancer in 1975 at the age of 46. Stallone has always felt indebted to her for helping him kick start his career. This has been taken from the Rocky Anthology booklet." All the Rocky movies have some dedication to her.
One of the best parts about the movie was the last song! Elton John! Underrated movie underrated song!
rocky V is my favourite. The treason from tommy shock me when i was 9.
I'm so excited you didn't listen to the haters. I can't wait for Rocky Balboa, next!😊
@15:11 That's a really interesting take regarding Paulie and Rocky Jr. I never thought of that.
One of my favorites!
As an 80s and 90s kid, I loved _Rocky V_ and watched it so many times. Still, _Rocky IV_ remains my fav.
The only thing about this movie that bothered me when I first saw it was how strange the time jumps between 3, 4 & 5. The one between 3 and 4, I can excuse but the one between 4 and 5 is so huge that it's hard to ignore. 5 takes place about a week or so after the end of 4 but Rocky's kid ages about 5 years since the last film. It's so weird. lol
Tommy Morrison was from I home town. I actually went to highschool with his brother Trent. And I met his two sons Tray and Kenzie few times as well
This movie as grown on me
Same thing where I went to school. One specific French teacher, she was also like that. And a math and art teacher too for that matter.
Yes, time for Rocky Balboa!
The guy who played Tommy Gun was a real top ranked heavyweight boxer in the 90's who fought for the title. He beat an aged George Foreman. He went downhill do to his success and eventually died of Aids.
George said Tommy was so respectful and polite to him that he could fight him hard like he wanted to.
about the meanest left hook in boxing history...
@MS-ro9dm gotta hate the fact your opponent is too nice when your entire job is about punching them in the head. Lol :D
The sixth one even better💛
Rocky v has some of Adrian's finest moments.
Most underrated movie ever.
being a 21 year old norweigan, you wouldn't know don king.but he was a boxing promoter who made the villain
Glad you did watch it.😃 ✌❤✌
Unfortunately Sly's son died a few years ago. Both of his sons are dead and only has his 3 daughters with Jennifer Flavin are around but Sophia has heart issues since she was born. As for Rocky's statue, considering that it's a fictional character, I can understand why there would be a Captain America statue in the Bronx. Maybe there would eventually be a SpiderMan statue in Brooklyn.
I never thought it was as bad as people did.
Honestly probably one of the more realistic Rockys...as far as what tends to happen to fighters.
You’ll enjoy it
Rocky V was always one of those movies that needed to get away from spectacle & bring it back to the core. I’ve always respected this movie for that.
Rocky Balboa tho…that one’s going to be a real one.
Rocky's flashback of Mick is better than anything in Rocky IV.
I'm glad you made up your own mind, instead of listening to all the haters.
So beautiful
Fué lindo ver la pelicula rocky 5 ,contigo ,ya no me acordaba mucho ,estubo genial ,muchas gracias ,saludos desde Chile...
Somehow I missed your reaction to the fourth one. Trying to find it
Yup, Rocky V is so underrated!, but it's a great movie. The next movie Rocky Balboa is the real send off for the Rocky series.
*Rocky V* is one of those pictures I feel will always be misunderstood. I understand what Stallone was trying to go for here and I believe the only reason he dismissals at these days is because the audience does. The premise here is built on solid foundation and hits for me everytime.
I actually watched it in the theaters in 1990 not expecting much. But surprisingly it was damn good ! Great writing, Great script. Glad you liked it.... ; )))
you will probably never read this but good for you sticking to your guns and following through on what you wanted to do. your fans love you no matter what you watch so you do you!
This is a great movie to teach you about life.
Rocky V was a polarizing film when it came out because as far as everyone knew it was the last Rocky movie we were going to get and it veered off sharply from where the franchise had gone as far as the boxing / action aspect of it goes. The first 2 movies were more about the story of Rocky and his life and where it was going. The boxing was an important part of it, but those 2 movies were more of a life journey combined with a love story. Rocky III and IV were into the 80's and starting down the road of macho action movies with over the top villains. They did still however carry over that Balboa charm that made the movies great in the first place.
Then this movie came and it was disappointing for a lot of people due to the loss of an overarching villain and not having an organized boxing match take place. The whole thing with Duke (a parody of Don King) and Tommy Gunn (played by real life boxer and also polarizing figure Tommy Morrison) felt muddled and too easy. It lacked the depth of the challenge (and eventual friendship) that Apollo Creed represented, the terror that Clubber Lang represented, and the insurmountable odds that Ivan Drago represented. Tommy Gunn was just a normal, butt-hurt dude who was too dumb to realize that he was being taken advantage of and puppeteered by Duke. It all happened too fast and lacked the savvy and finesse of the other movies.
I didn't really care much for this movie when it came out, but I have grown to like it over the years. I think the Rocky franchise needed to go in a different direction, but if more time had been spent fleshing out the "heel turn" of Gunn I think it would have been better received. I still think this is the lowest on the Rocky tier list, but I no longer think of it as a "bad movie"
PLUS the sheer competition of movies that came out in 1990! Back to the Future III. Total Recall, Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tremors, Ghost, GoodFellas, Misery, Die Hard 2, The Hunt for Red October, Home Alone, etc. etc. There were a LOT of classic movies that came out that year and Rocky V kind of lived in their shadow.
I love that Rocky
Next time Rocky Balboa (ROCKY 6)
I'm happy that you didn't listen to all those "Negative Nancys"!! The entire Rocky series is GREAT. Of course some movies are better than others but as a whole, the franchise is AWESOME!! Keep up the great reactions and never change for anyone!!! AZ 🎸🎶🎹♥
Imagine if the Tommy Vs Rocky fight was in the ring tho ! Tbh either way it was still a good fight . Rocky 5 is a good movie tbh
Honestly time and hindsight have done this movie a lot of good. It still ranks at the bottom of the Rocky pile, but it really is a better movie then its got credit for over the years.
A lot of people don't know this, but Stallone wrote Rocky to die right there in the street. Studio was like ah hell know you ain't killing Rocky. Also, Sage passed away pretty young in his life from medical complications. I'm so glad you watched this one. I like this better than 4. Rocky Balboa (6) is much better. For mw 6, 1, and 2, are the best. (not to take away from the others which are all good in my opinion)
The saddest thing about Rocky V was that BOTH Sage Stallone (Sylvester Stallone's son) who played Rocky Jr DIED in real life at age 36 in 2012 suddenly and unexpectedly from coronary artery disease caused by atherosclerosis. AND Tommy Morrison who played Tommy ALSO died a year later of AIDS. Enjoyed your amazing reaction as always!!
Great reaction. People hate seeing the Balboas in dire straights to the point to were they are blind as to how good this film actually is.
Its actually how life ends up sometimes!! I loved it!! It was realistic.
@@nakitapalmer656 Agreed!
I want to see you watch the dc of iv
It’s a great film. I don’t know why people hate it so much. I know there isn’t a championship fight and he loses all of his money, but he wins in another way. That’s why I love the Rocky series-sometimes the fight is outside the ring. The only thing that’s jarring is that his son ages by nearly a decade after the Drago fight (the same could be said for Rocky 😅).
Tommy Gunn also seems to have 14 fights in about one year. Possible, but not at a level where he'd become a contender.
I agree with you. I've loved Rocky V since I first saw it back in 1990. The audience in the theatre were going crazy at that street fight with Tommy, it was a great atmosphere. I've never understood the hate it gets either.
I Like this film regardless but I hope you watch 6 as I LOVE that film!
I liked this one too. The story progression was natural and made sense. I just hated that they left pauly in charge of their finances like that instead having a lawyer handle legal documents. But the movie was good and the ending fight stands out to me.
Yeah, I'm not suprised Rocky would do it giving Paulie the benefit of the doubt, but kinda surprise Adrian would trust your brother with that sort of thing knowing how he is.
I love Rocky V, is it as good as the rest no its not, but as movie its good and it hits all the Rocky beats we know and love, I guess i was lucky to watch this when i was still young like 14 and i was just so excited to have another Rocky movie.
