I don’t think he was worried Apollo couldn’t overcome him he was worried that fighting someone like Rocky who never gives up and keeps coming forward could cause him long term damage. Apollo was beating the hell out of Rocky in this second fight, he was winning practically every round but his pride wouldn’t let him because he wanted to knock him out which is why Duke kept yelling for Apollo to stay away from him because he had the fight already won and by trying to knock him out it ultimately cost him the fight at the end because he gassed out and couldn’t get up when they both went down
And it makes sense in reality. The triangle theory of boxing gives a good generalized picture of why Tony was worried. Apollo's trainer, Duke, is worried that a man like Rocky, who NEVER gives up, is dangerous in the ring and can hurt Apollo. That's why Duke said, "We don't need that kind of man like that in our lives."
Rocky and Adrian are one of the best on-screen couples. Love the Rocky series. When Apollo meets with his team and they say Apollo doesn't need a man like Rocky, they recognise the danger that a man like Rocky poses to Apollos title run because of his hunger and drive. They're the dangerous fighters to face.
Its telling that Apollo directly bives the belt to Rocky, not letting the ref be the middleman. And he wishes Rocky luck, since Apollo knows getting to the top is hard. Staying there is much, much harder. As much as Apollo is the antagonist in these movies, he's not a bad person, he's egotistical, but when you fight a guy like Rocky who blocks punches with his nose, its understandable he is confident of winning.
I have tears every time I watch Rocky 2 as well. I hope you watch 3 now. It's faster-paced and more action-packed than 1 & 2, but still has the same heart & spirit. Rocky faces new challenges and a new opponent and gains a new ally.
When they hold eachother during a fight, it's called clinching. It gives the fighters a second the break the attack or catch a breather, but the ref then breaks it up and let's the fight carry on. In Rocky it doesn't happen often, but in a real fight, it happens almost every few seconds.
Your best reaction ever, Kamilla, even more so than my beloved LOTR. You are such a sweetheart to care about a character in a movie about 40 years old!. I do hope you one day have that child you clearly wish to have, and do so safely and happily! That baby will be a lucky little soul.
This one is the best one of all of them in my opinion. I haven't seen a more inspirational movie since. FUN FACT: Part 1 and 2 both ended with I love you.
"I saw you beat that man, like I ain't ever seen no man get beat before, and the man kept coming after you" Probably my favorite scene in the Rocky franchise. Apollo's trainer, Duke, knew the kind of fighter that Rocky was, ever since seeing him on TV punching the meat in the frozen locker. His job was to protect his fighter, and he knew a rematch would place Apollo's career in the line of fire against someone more hungry than him.
Apollo’s coach is worried Rocky might beat him the next time, because he doesn’t go down. So Apollo’s coach says we don’t need that kind of man in our life. And I’m like you, I get emotional tears every time I watch this!
In real life boxing, if a fighter is hurt and starts taking repeated unguarded punches, the ref will stop the fight to protect the fighter. This is a movie after all and if the ref stopped the fight, it wouldn't be much of a fight😉 Creed's character is like the legendary real life fighter, Muhammed Ali - vivacious, smooth talking and confident, who said, sting like a bee, dance like a butterfly.
Fun Fact: The first Rocky movie, written by Sylvester Stallone, was based on the real life boxer Chuck Wepner. A local small time boxer who fought Muhammad Ali. Wepner knocked Ali down in the 7th round. Ali eventually knocked Wepner down with 19 seconds left in the 15th round. The referee counted to seven when the judges called a technical knock out.
@@LeviBoldockI thought in the earlier drafts, he was Rocky's half brother. A brother from another mother type situation cause their dad divorced and then remarried.

The song that begins playing at 11:52 is called _Summer Madness_ by Kool & The Gang. Not sure if someone mentioned it already but it's an amazing song that's been used in a lot media including video games (e.g. GTA 3).
They did put a Rocky statue at the top of the stairs. Those stairs lead up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was later determined that it was not a proper place for the statue, and it was moved to the sports arena.
Loved your reaction. I was in my 20s when Rocky came out. I'm 65 and watch other people's reactions to this movie. Every single reaction never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Because it brings tears to yours. Thank you
Philadelphia native here (although I don't live there now), and there is a statue of Rocky. It's no longer in the location it was in in this movie, and has been moved a few times. Last time I was there and saw it (2019-ish) it was off to the right at the base of the steps. At one point in time it was down at the Spectrum, which is a sporting complex in South Philly, before the stadium was knocked down. That was roughly 25 years ago, and I'm not sure what years it was moved. I also don't know exactly how many times it's been moved. But it does exist, and is something tourist's like to see and pose with.
Except 5, of course. Definitely skip 5. Rocky 6 is the movie that 5 should have been and more than does the job. You don't need to know anything that happens in Rocky 5, none of it is ever referenced again. The first Creed movie is actually the best Rocky finale.
@@Ellis_Hugh Lol no. Every reaction channel I have watched enjoys 5 and are confused why people like you have the opinion you have. @@Hatrimn It's a terrible movie that doesn't do justice to the characters. I wouldn't say skip it because it's part of the _Rocky_ franchise and ppl should decide for themselves if they like it but that doesn't make it a good film. Easily one of the worst films of the late 80s/early 90s.

Great reaction. Thank you for being open and showing your emotion. It brings it back to the emotion I felt the first time (and every time I watch this movie). I appreciate you for this.
Okay so it looks like you may still be a little confused by what was going on in both Rocky 1 and 2. I'll try to clear a few things up. Rocky 1: Rocky's main goal was to 'go the distance'. He wanted to prove that he wasn't just another bum(loser) that he could go toe to toe with the champ. In the mind of Rocky at the end of Rocky 1 he won in a manner of speaking. Since he lasted all 15 rounds he proved to himself he was the real deal. Now this leads into Rocky 2. In the first fight Apollo was not expecting Rocky to be able to fight so hard Apollo was more concerned with the spectacle or the story of the fight than the actual fight. Keep in mind in Rocky 1 Rocky is a nobody and Apollo is a Champion. To the outside world (mainly critics) it looked like Apollo either threw the fight(making it last longer) to make a spectacle of the fight or he just wasn't as good as people thought he was. Since Apollo wasn't able to knock Rocky out it didn't look like Apollo actually beat him. It almost looked like Apollo was given the fight by the judges just because he was the champ. This is why Apollo was so desperate for a rematch he wanted to regain his reputation. As for Rocky not wanting to fight anymore that's because of Adrian I don't think he liked worrying Adrian and I also think Rocky wanted to prove to his wife he was more than just a dumb fighter. However, Rocky still wanted to provide and not just be a normal guy. He can't do that without being a fighter and Adrian realized that too. Even though Adrian didn't like seeing Rocky hurt she knew how important it was to him. So in the end she backed him.
The 'Rocky'/'Creed' series is my favourite film series and, for me, 'Rocky II' is the best one. It drags you down to sheer hopelessness and builds it all back up. Also, the final fight is arguably the best in the whole series.
Thanks for a very raw and honest reaction. Rocky is my favorite film series and I'm a girl. I grew up, considering Rocky as my life saver... my fictional father figure cause I didn't have that. I hope you continue all the way to Creed. Keep punching! 🥊😊
I Love your emotional reaction. Remember that these were never boxing movies augmented with a love story. They were a love story with boxing as the background.
The long setup for Rky2 was asking Creed 'was that your best?' at hospital in 1...Rky knew he could take the punches to tire him out, emphasizing savvy.
Looks like you're going to have to watch all the rest of the Rockys (Rocky V is bad but keep going because Rocky Balboa is fantastic). Also, probably the Creeds. They're worth it. Also, we Philadelphians love our fictional son Rocky. Statue is coming up in Rocky III. It lived where the movie has it for a while but the Art Museum (that's the building at the top of the steps) decided it isn't art, it's a movie prop, so it got moved down to our sports stadium district for a while while they figured out what to do with it (and then did nothing with it). Around the time Rocky VI was being filmed, there was enough of an outcry to get it moved back to the steps that they compromised and gave it a nice little alcove at the bottom of the stairs so you can go and take a picture with it After your reactions to these movies, I'd say it's worth it if you ever come to the Mid-Atlantic :)
If "I'm not crying, you're crying" was a reaction video 😂 Boxing is fairly simple, rules wise. Back then, it was 15 rounds unless there was a knockout, TKO (ref stoppage or corner stoppage), or DQ. There are three judges that score each round. Basically, Apollo was up on all three judges' cards by a wide margin. He was going to leave no doubt in this fight unlike in the first where he took Rocky lightly. But this time he was determined to get the knockout, leaving himself at risk for a knockout. Had he stayed away from Rocky and not tried to knock him out, he'd still be champ. Loved Apollo's sportsmanship at the end though, the way he hands Rocky the belt, raises his hand, and rubs his head. Awesome reaction!
To answer the question about the ambulance and traffic. I mostly have experience from Sweden and Belgium and yes, people also move to the side as quickly as possible. From small roads to cities and highways. I noticed the same when driving through the Netherlands. Nice reaction by the way.
I'm so glad you were talked into watching this one and I hope you'll continue on with the Rocky series. Watching you enjoy the movie as it went on was a wonderful thing. It's okay to wonder and question about the rules and what was going on at the moment. Those things only add more context and enjoyment to the film. Hearing you mention gymnastics and ice skating made me think of a movie I think you'd enjoy watching. It was released in 1992 called The Cutting Edge about an unlikely duo made up of an ice skater and a hockey player. I really think you'd love that one. To use a baseball metaphor, you've hit another home run with this video. Can't wait for the next one! 😊
Yes, traffic is supposed to move over to the side when first responders are on a call. If cops have pulled over someone, we are to get in center lane (3 lanes) Left lane (2 lanes).
Just because you don't know a certain sport or topic doesn't mean you're stupid. She just something that doesn't interest you. It's common sense that counts. You're pretty much self-aware so you're a pretty smart cookie. And this is a very good real pure reaction. After watching these movies several times you start to realize that the Rocky movies are more about Rocky and Adrian love life their life and they're growing together. But back to the main topic, you. I'm willing to bet you're really good at gymnastics. Probably many other things so you'll be alright. Anyway thanks for this reaction you're doing it proper again thank you for this. Take care
In case no one mentioned it, the ref breaks up the fighters it they wrap each other up, preventing the other from fighting. If one fighter is unable to defend or protect themselves, the ref can also step in to stop the fight. Regarding knockdowns, a knockout is if a fighter goes down, and can’t get up before a count of ten. If a fighter scores a knockdown, without getting downed himself, that usually wins the match, even if the opponent wins more rounds (I think). If neither opponent goes down, then they go to the score cards from the three judges. A fighter wins a round if they have a better hits thrown/landed ratio than their opponent. (Again double check to be sure). If all three judges vote for one fighter, it’s a Unanimous decision. If it’s a 2-1 split, it’s a split decision. I believe if it’s 1-1 with the third judge slitting the match 50/50, it ends in a draw. Double check all this, but I believe that’s how it works.
What a beautiful reaction. Such a joy to see someone of this generation reacting in exactly the same as I/we did when it first came out. The happy tears are virtually impossible to hold back with this one 😁
They did actually hit and damage each other quite a bit in this one, and hospitalized. In 4 , Stallone almost died, because the first 2_3 rounds werent choreographed, and drago broke his ribs, punctured a lung, punctured his heart sac!

The tigers would even come up to the glass because it's a one way mirror. Kids would press their faces to the glass to see the tigers.

Stallone clearly had admiration and fascination for Mohammad Ali. Of course the first movie is inspired by the Ali vs Charles Wepner fight. But the character of Apollo is clearly modeled after Ali. Ali saw boxing not only as a sport but used his personality to sell and promote the fights into spectacles. He was an A+ showman and still arguably the greatest heavyweight boxer that ever lived. Rocky II pulls inspiration from the George Foreman fight only it's more like Rocky assuming the role of Ali using his version of the rope a dope to tire Apollo to the point he could land blows to get the knockdown at the end. (And before anyone says the obvious about future events, yes I know but it also applies here...). The point is that Stallone was no doubt an Ali fan. After Rocky blew up, they met a number of times and Stallone said that it was a privilege to have known him when he died.
This should be good. It never ceases to amaze me how this generation is joyfully reacting to the movies of that era.

Apollo's trainer, Duke, is worried that a man like Rocky, who NEVER gives up, is dangerous in the ring and can hurt Apollo. That's why Duke said, "We don't need that kind of man like that in our lives."
Duke??? Is that his last name cuz his first name is Tony
@@rickbadessa4897 Yes, Duke is his last name. His son "Little Duke" is the Creed films.
I knew you would love this part of the franchise. You are such a romantic. The softer side of you make me wish I could drop 35 years!
"I was wonderin' if you wouldn't mind marrying me too much?" Best proposal ever!
Hope you continue with the series!
"I saw you beat that man, like I ain't ever seen no man get beat before, and the man kept coming after you"
Probably my favorite scene in the Rocky franchise. Apollo's trainer, Duke, knew the kind of fighter that Rocky was, ever since seeing him on TV punching the meat in the frozen locker.
His job was to protect his fighter, and he knew a rematch would place Apollo's career in the line of fire against someone more hungry than him.
Please tell us you are going to continue and complete the Rocky franchise!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!
This reaction is so great I have seen it about 10 times lol. “Happy tears”
Apollo’s coach is worried Rocky might beat him the next time, because he doesn’t go down. So Apollo’s coach says we don’t need that kind of man in our life.
And I’m like you, I get emotional tears every time I watch this!
I love most of the hype interviews in Rocky movies. His opponents are all in-your-face bluster and he's so friendly and laid back.
A 10/10 reaction to a 10/10 movie. This is what cinematography is all about. Creating emotions❤Well done
Happy tears are happening because you are watching a movie with an amazing story. Very few movies these days carry the emotions that Rocky brings.
I think we cry because we know the difficulties Rocky went through to get there and he succeeded. They are tears of joy.
I REALLY enjoyed this watch along Kamilla. We gotta do much more of these in the future! ❤
Absolutely! Thank you for joining ❤️
I like how the loan shark looks after him. A guardian devil?
He is Like temptation to remain a nobody in the story
He's not a bad guy, he doesn't force people to take loans lol
I think it was either in the original script, or the novel, Tony had been Rocky's friend since childhood.
@@LeviBoldockI thought in the earlier drafts, he was Rocky's half brother. A brother from another mother type situation cause their dad divorced and then remarried.
Apollo was so eager to fight Rocky because he took him to the distance in the last fight. Alot of people thought Rocky won the last fight
Rocky II is my all-time favorite of the franchise, but I also like Rocky III. the best part for me in Rocky II is when Adrian says, "...WIN...". omg. I hear it, and my eyes water up. and the music at that point (the chime hit is perfect) is fantastic. love your reactions!
Never feel dumb about asking questions or not knowing something.
You don't know what you don't know, until you know, you know? lol
Amazing reaction.
From a time with no internet and streaming services.
When going to the movies was an event. The roaring cheers of the theater crowd is all but gone now.
The tears of joy in your eyes at the end was priceless.
Thank you for the upload, youve gained a fan..
Rocky and Adrian relationship is one of the interesting things I love about the rocky franchise. Their relationship is very beautiful
great reaction from a young one. so glad you didn't laugh inappropriately at some of the sad moments.. thanks for a great reaction to a classic movie we GenX grew up watching.
Happy "First Contact Day"! 🖖
the first Rocky is my personal favorite but your reaction here is so sweet.
Don't apologize, people learn from books other people and experience. HUgs
The song that begins playing at 11:52 is called _Summer Madness_ by Kool & The Gang. Not sure if someone mentioned it already but it's an amazing song that's been used in a lot media including video games (e.g. GTA 3).
I’m so happy you enjoyed this movie and are loving the “Rocky” series. 😊 Seeing this again was like seeing it again for the first time.
They did put a Rocky statue at the top of the stairs. Those stairs lead up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was later determined that it was not a proper place for the statue, and it was moved to the sports arena.
And after that, it was moved back to the museum, but it’s on the side porch of the museum now not the front steps.
@@jimmers123 Thanks, I didn't know that. Do you know when they did that?
@@jamesdemarco7161 it was put into storage when they demolished the old Spectrum in about 2002 and put back at the art museum in 2006.
@@jimmers123 Very cool. I just assumed they put it in front of the new Wells Fargo Center.
Hope you watch them all, definitely worth it
Except 5, of course.
Skipping it misses out on an important chapter in Rocky's life...it makes me think you don't actually care about the characters.
Edit: and Rocky 6 references 5 when he says "home team" to his son
@@Hatrimn It's a terrible movie that doesn't do justice to the characters. I wouldn't say skip it because it's part of the _Rocky_ franchise and ppl should decide for themselves if they like it but that doesn't make it a good film. Easily one of the worst films of the late 80s/early 90s.
This is the greatest Rocky II reaction in the history of my life! You even grabbed your face as Adrian does watching the fight from home. I am now subscribed!
I'm glad I discovered your channel. I am old enough to have experienced all the Rocky movies in the theatre. I actually saw Rocky 2 in a Drive In. It's gratifying to see new generations react to Rocky and Adrian the same way as we all did back then. Keep watching and I'll keep viewing along, seeing as how I'm newly subscribed. Thumbs up! Laita!
When the ref says break it's because they are in a clinch where no punches are being thrown, nothing to do with ropes, they can be on the ropes if the want, the rope a dope fae cassius clay was a tactic to make the guy think he was too tired to fight,he would lay back on the ropes and just block the puches to tire the guy out then beat him
Great reaction.
Love this reaction! 😂
you literally made me love this movie again.... Thank you
Thanks for a very raw and honest reaction. Rocky is my favorite film series and I'm a girl. I grew up, considering Rocky as my life saver... my fictional father figure cause I didn't have that. I hope you continue all the way to Creed. Keep punching! 🥊😊
Part 3 is good too. You'll fall in love with Apollo Creed in part 3!
Around the time Rocky VI was being filmed, there was enough of an outcry to get it moved back to the steps that they compromised and gave it a nice little alcove at the bottom of the stairs so you can go and take a picture with it
After your reactions to these movies, I'd say it's worth it if you ever come to the Mid-Atlantic :)
If "I'm not crying, you're crying" was a reaction video 😂
Boxing is fairly simple, rules wise.
Rocy is a love story, that's straight from Sly's mouth.
Please react to Rocky 3. I'd like to see what you think of Mr. T. Great reaction.
To answer the question about the ambulance and traffic. I mostly have experience from Sweden and Belgium and yes, people also move to the side as quickly as possible. From small roads to cities and highways. I noticed the same when driving through the Netherlands. Nice reaction by the way.
Excellent reaction to this masterpiece! “I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil.”― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
WOUAHHH... What is the reaction!!!! you were genial.. You now understand why we love "Rocky" movies and what a nice reaction
PLEASE continue the series it just gets better and better!
23:00 - Arguably one of the greatest moments in cinematic history right there. It's like Popeye getting his spinach.
I like your reactions. You have a kind of innocence about you when it comes to these movies. It's refreshing. Thank you.
"are people mad at each other before a fight?"
It definately makes punching them for 15 rounds a lot easier that's for sure.
How awesome is this franchise? This story? It's so basic, so human... This is the love story even us guys enjoyed. To this day I still love Sylvester Stallone and Carl Weathers. Always great, imo.
Your reaction was wonderful. So pure and real. Thank you
It’s safe to say Centane is now invested in the Rocky series #LetsGo 3 and 4 are imo the best
Glad you're continuing the series, I can't wait to see your reaction to the next 2 (and the rest)!
Quality reactions on this channel, keep it up 🙏
I remembering going to Philadelphia zoo. When Rocky and Adrian were standing outside with the tigers, there is an underneath it a room with glass so people can see the tigers. The tigers would even come up to the glass because it's a one way mirror. Kids would press their faces to the glass to see the tigers.
Man i love them Rocky feels, They get ya every time,
The guy he first spars with is actually Roberto Duran, one of the GOAT in Boxing history. There a movie about him called Hands Of Stones with Robert DeNiro as his trainer.
Love the Rocky movies, one of my favorite series. was hooked as a kid and loved them ever since.
I loved your reaction. The rocky movies gotta bad reputations, but they are really great. I only like the first 4. You got more emotional then i thought you would but i think its awesome. When i hear her say WIN i get emotional. Her approval was the one thing holding him back.
Greetings from Finland girl!!! This franchise is one of the best I've seen!!! Please continue this franchise!! Cannot wait to see your reactions to the rest of these movies!!! "I'll be back" 😎
If you watch all the Rocky movies the payoff in the Creed movies is sooo good. I hope you go the distance and watch all of em’.
I'm really curious how you did this watch-along. Did you use discord? Was everyone watching their own copy or were you able to stream it? I'm only asking because I would love to do this with my community but I didn't think it was possible.

@@Legatus10 Could you shoot me a link to her kick?
