One of the greatest sequels ever made. We all tear up at the end. I still do.

The only one being real and protecting his fighter. Tony Evers was such a great actor.

Apollo is a First Class Opponent, If you notice at the end of the fight, Apollo raises Rocky's Hand/Arm, and Congradulates Rocky....
For sure, even the way he called Rocky out to fight was very very tame. It’s a good emotional literacy test, he’s the antagonist but he’s not evil he’s just a competitor.
He really is! When there is TV he always put on a show. The few times we see Rocky and Apollo together alone he is totally different. The scene at the hospital when Rocky asks if he did his best comes to mind. He is quite angry in Rocky 2. But it is understandable. He is under a lot of stress and pressure. Apollo Creed made these movies so entertaining.
I'm sure the subtitles are wrong.... It sounds like rocky says to Apollo "you're great" not "yo creed" .... And that makes more sense for his character and for Apollo to raise his hand....

@@iad77 Yeah, those subtitles are wrong. It's definitely "You're great." Another wrong bit I see frequently is during the fight the subs claim "Balboa's on his way," but Stu Nahan actually says "Balboa won't quit."
I saw this movie when it came out, I'm 59 now, and I still cry at the end

Stallone said: "Rocky is a love story, not a boxing movie." ... Apollo didn't pace himself, and this is against the only opponent to go the full 15 rounds with him. Apollo's trainer Tony NEVER underestimated Rocky, not from the first moment he watched him pound raw side of beef on tv.
I like how Coby's good at anticipating what's potentiallly going to happen, but it still emotionallly wrapped up in it as it plays out.
There’s is no character in cinema history with more heart than Rocky. Seriously my favourite movie character.

That's so true. I always yell "Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!" when I watch one of his title fights as if I was cheering on a real boxer and watching the fight ringside.
I just love watching people watching the sequal of "Rocky" .... When the count gets to 10 in that final round and the music hits ... I still tear up 😂

Who would have thought, the final words in sports/ Boxing movies is 'I love you' for Two Rocky's running.
Pure love story with a bit of boxing thrown in.
Stallone was actually injured while training to shoot Rocky 2. He tore his pectoral muscle on his left, which is real reason that he wrote in the part about Rocky fighting right-handed. The injury hadn't healed yet and fighting right-handed would allow him to rest the injury on the long days of shooting the fight scene.
Ended up been such a good tactic simply because it confused Apollo as well as the eye reason
Coby, as someone who has been around the proverbial block, it's easy to see if someone is genuine and real vs. someone who isn't. And even though you are in a profession (acting) that is notorious for phoniness and duplicity, AND living in the mecca of the entertainment capital of the world (Los Angeles/Hollywood), you come across as a VERY down-to-earth person with genuine emotions. And that vocational/personality dichotomy that you possess makes you VERY endearing, which makes you even more attractive than you already are.
Rocky movies got so much heart.
Will always be one of my favorite movies.

They got heart, but they ain't got no locker. 😉
Even the fourth one still has loads of heart despite its more over the top tone and then 5 despite its flaws still had loads of heart and solid character writing

Rocky 3/4 are my favorite. Sly has said he hates it when Rocky is called a boxing movie-it’s a love story with boxing in it. Rocky is the best franchise there is💖 I’ve cried at several spots in each Rocky movie. Huge Sly fan
If u don’t cry in every Rocky movie then ur not human ! I’ve seen this movie literally 50 times at least in my 55 years and I’ve cried alligator tears every single time. Including this one. Cant wait to come back for 3. Hopefully very soon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☑️
i can't count how many times i've seen this film, but each and every time on the line " yo adrian i did it!" i tear up every time.
Me and my sister watched the Rocky movies over and over when we were kids in the 80s. I'll never get tired of rewatching them.

Great reaction, Coby. Dont worry. You aren't alone. These movies elicit tremendous emotion. Glad you love the Rocky movies. They are excellent. Definitely, deserve a sub. Remember, we didn’t have VCR tapes to rewatch the movie at the time. It was years before we saw the sequel.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen the Rocky movies (all of them). I still cry. These movies are so well done. I hope you do the rest of them!
The best line in this movie is when Rocky takes Adrienne to the zoo and asked her " what are doing for next 40 or 50 years, if you wouldn't mind marrying me too much."

Get ready for Rocky 3 which is what I believe to be THE BEST in the entire series! Eye of the tiger baby!!!
When Rocky is speaking after the fight, and a voice yells out, "We love ya Rock," and he says "Yeah, I love yous too, ...... that was unscripted. It was one of those spontaneous emotional moments, and it fit so well it stayed in the film.

Adrian didn't just give him her approval to fight; she told him to "Win! Win!" She never approved of his fighting, but in the first one Rocky just wanted to prove he wasn't a bum. Adrian knew that Rocky needed to win, and that gave Rocky something to shoot for. At the end of the movie Rocky yells, "Yo Adrian, I did it!!" celebrating the fact that he was able to fulfill her request. I love this movie.
The song "Eye of the Tiger" aired in Rocky III.

Apollo wasn't just a great champion and a showman but he was also a gracious loser as he congratulated Rocky after the match. That must've been an incredibly painful thing for a champion like him to do but he did it like a true gentleman. Apollo and Rocky are both great boxers and really nice guys.
Always been my favourite, and the first Rocky film I ever saw. As you demonstrated, it is even more emotional than the first film. I prefer to think of Rocky and Rocky II as one story, which was the story of how Rocky became champion of the world. Watching the two films back to back is even more moving. And they manage to fit stylistically together, even though one cost less than a million and the other $7 million. Rocky II is definitely cleaner, crisper than the first film.

My entire life...guys like Rocky and Apollo become great friends after years of fighting for fight sake. Respect leads to admiration.

When my father fought professionally in the 50s, my mom said she saw him fight once and that was enough and she couldn't watch again!
This is my favorite Rocky movie because of the zoo scene when he asks her to marry him. I'm a sensitive man and that scene is so beautiful!
Did you ever catch that the driver for the loan shark told Rocky "TAKE HER TO THE ZOO!" And the zoo is where he proposed to her. Nice twist.

Great reaction yes I had a tiger from Rocky three and used to try the rest of the other movies starting at Rocky three ending for Rocky six. I wasn’t Rocky Balboa 6 called Rocky Balboa and then there are three Creed movies but the lost son of Apollo Creed, which Rocky helps like Helped him. I love the Rocky series. It’s an American classic at this point. No matter your background, he’s a character that we can all root for. It’s also a really great love story.

Eye of the Tiger comes in Rocky III. When they (Survivor) were writing the music for the movie, they were rushed and couldn't come up with anything that quickly. They talked Sylvester Stallone into watching the uncut movie to get a feel for what they needed to do. At one point in the movie (and you will see it), Apollo talks about Rocky having "the eye of the tiger". That's stood out and that is how they come up with that song.

It's fun seeing how well the movie still works all these years later. Proves how great they are and how they will last forever.
Alien 2, Terminator 2, Star Wars 2 - The Empire Strikes Back. ---- Making a sequel as good as, or even better the the first is very rare. Rocky 1-3 are GREAT.

One of the best sequels ever. Better than the first movie. One thing I'll mention that I hadn't seen anyone else mention yet I think....
The writing.... Did you notice a difference between Rocky and Adrian's personalities? They are acquiring each other's strengths. He's getting smarter and she's having more confidence.
The writing of these two characters is just brilliant. And it's so truthful to how a great relationship should work... Growing together and becoming better from it.
Better than the first? I dont know about that. Almost every scene in Rocky is a classic.
To me, the writing of Rocky and Adrian's homelife was a little silly. It was too soap opera-ish. It's like he was trying to make Love Story in a boxing movie. There was not enough ugly between the two and when a couple gets stressed out over money, they can get ugly.
That's why I think Rocky Balboa is the best Rocky movie after the original. It feels far more natural. Its Rocky that has always been the most fascinating and wonderful part of this franchise. Stallone figured that out when he made Rocky 6 and brought back the magic of Rocky Balboa.
And that speech in Rocky Balboa is possibly the best writing and acting of Stallones career.

And considering how grounded the first film was, it’s very much in line tone wise with the first film

Oh no, Coby. Well, first, that's not a bandage. Apollo's hands are not injured... yet. That's a _boxing_ wrap. An inner glove. Boxers put them on before a fight to secure all the movable bones and loose joints in the hand together. To do otherwise is to invite injury.

The last three minutes are the greatest three minutes in all cinema.

I remember when this movie was being filmed and the call went out over the radio for kids to appear in the movie. All they had to do was show up at the various filming locations (Independence Square, the Ben Franklin Parkway/Art Museum, etc.) and they would be in those scenes following Stallone as he runs. As you could see, a lot of kids (and their parents) responded.
Rocky is my family nickname and because of this movie growing up in the 80s I got into so many fights
Who all fell in love with this girl at the end (@37:49) with that wonder and BEAUTIFUL heart melting laugh (her happiness) when Rocky wins? How could you not fall in love with her (WOW - Best part of the movie).
