Incredible house. Just one suggestion to the owners, if I may: it is not ideal to keep the guitar stored under the fireplace as the high heat may warp the neck; if not the high heat, the temperature drop when moving the guitar elsewhere (to play it on the sofa, for instance) may - any sort of sudden or relatively rapid temperature change can have averse effects on your instrument. Take care and enjoy!

I think she meant the lifestyle. The herds of cows and goats, are no longer as prevalent as they used to be and therefore the pasiegos are falling apart. Instead of a community of where several families lived and there were scattered pasiegos all around, now there's more ruins and fewer families living there full time. I really, really liked this design. Kept elements from the past, it doesn't feel too big or too small, it's cozy, aesthetically pleasing and built to fit the weather conditions of the area. Very, very nice
To all those saying the landscape looks like Scotland or Northern England. That landscape is specific to Valles Pasiegos, that area of Northern Spain. The reason is said to be that all the ancient forests of this area were cut down for wood and lumber for the industry downstream, especially the Royal Cannon Factory in La Cavada and the Royal Shipyard in Santander (both dismantled centuries ago). The process happened over several centuries when Spain had a colonial empire and a large armada. That's when the local people started becoming nomads, and moving up and down, claiming patches of from the newly cleared land and building little house-barns for their dairy cows and sheep. The same man-made deforestation happened in Britain so, yeah, the landscape is similar.
As someone from that area that is about to restore one of his family's housebarns, I have mixed feelings about the restoration. On the one hand, I am happy these house-barns are being restored, since there are thousands of them (each family would own many, and move continuously from one to another). Also, I like that she kept the traditional stone roofing with zero overhang and no gutters. On the other hand, that design does not respect the traditional style in almost any other aspect. The general volume/appearance of the house is... off... windows too large, roof looks very steep and the house looks huge, but that could be the camera lens, though. They were able to do this because the law protecting these housebarns has been "frozen" in parliament for years. Once that law passes, these kinds of interventions shouldn't be allowed.
