The one thing about calves is the stretch is the most growth promoting portion of the rep and getting that big stretch is important for hypertrophy. The concern for a torn tendon would be to use less weight compared to a max effort like you said. Also putting your tendons and muscles through the higher range of motion allows for decreased injury probability. Love the videos keep up the great work!💪
Zerchers are nasty! I use padded elbow sleeves. The hardest part I find is trying to breathe when I hit 175 + for sets over 5 reps. I usually do 6-8 rep sets with 175-225 I do a complete restart every year or two to keep it fresh and check the ego! Nice job. Stay strong, Ken! Let's Go!
Because of past shoulder injuries and now severe arthritis in left shoulder, my range of motion just isn't there anymore, so I now only use a safety squat bar.
