If I could make make suggestion. When tapping go 1-2 turns n back 1/2 turn to break chip off when tapping anything. Watch in cast iron it’s brittle. Use a starter tap, plug and then bottom tap to cut threads for the entire length of the hole Bering threaded. Good video
You should probably watch a video on how to properly use a tap. That was painful to watch. I can’t believe your tap didn’t break.
You know to use those studs. You have to mill the boss down. But you can use the cheater stud in the head you are doing.
I have used electrolysis for rust and crud removal on small parts but I saw a guy on TikTok using it on cylinder heads. I tagged you in his video comments.
I’ll check it out!
Hey man I just did this on my sbc heads all the studs are in the block fits back over them no problem but if I put a straight edge along all 8 studs like two are off the straight edge a very small amount but the block fits fine is this gonna be a problem thanks for any advice or opinions
A wise man once told me, you should always go 1/4 turn back for every half turn forward, then you will never break a tap. (but do whatever you want just don't hit me in the face with a volleyball again)
Bruh why did I just see this comment
@@brandt_murphy_garage TBH I asked myself the same thing weeks ago.
@@rugged04270 shows how much I still use the ol RUclips
Wanna change that though
I wish I was there to show you how to use the tap procedure properly,
How did it go with porting your heads? I can see you haven't had time to put out the video yet. Cheers!
