    Never sell that Fastback brother. I had a 67 GTA (S Code) and a 68 Fastback and kick myself in the butt daily for selling them. Money doesn't buy happiness a early Fastback does.

    Thank you for posting this. For someone who knows nothing about adjusting valves, this helps out a lot!
    I am in need of adjusting mine. I can't stand the clicking and clacking. Hopefully, it helps and quiets it down. 👍

    Always awesome content, never messed with roller rockers before, she seems to be sounding a whole
    heck of a lot better. For sure looks more impressive when you take the valve cover off.

    Just a quicky FYI for the group.
    David Vizard recommends PRW Sportsman rockers for a budget build. $ 140.
    Either 1.6/1.6 guided/1.7. DV says the off the seat ratio is about 1.83. THAT gives a big boost in the low lift flow. These are ball fulcrum and roller tip cast steel.
    Always check your pushrod geometry on the valve stem. 👍😎

    What a coincidence - just installed first rocker on our 91 GT project 302 to determine pushrod length today. Summit to rescue with some 6.5” pushrods and will be assembling those with the AFR heads come Saturday. #progress 😁

    Sounds much better. Now put a HO cam in her, with a HO firing order. If you don't have one I have a TFS stage 1 cam, just let me now. You can turn an old 289 or 302 to a HO by just replacing the cam and switching the firing order to HO.

    • @hotrodray6802
      @hotrodray6802 Год назад

      E cam is much better due to better LSA, definitely better than 289 HIPO cam, makes a good driver. E cam is about 22 hp/tq better than a stock HO cam.

    Also have a '65 Fastback, 408 stroker, what starter are you using, your car fired right up.

      In the video I was using a stock style 65 starter (automatic) but it sounds like crap. I’ve tried ones from a FOXBODY and still no change. I’m currently looking into that issue

      @RaiderX948 Год назад

      @@BREW2LFOXBODY I used the smaller starter you'd find on a '95 Mustang, never really seemed up to the task, this motor has 10.5:1 compression, maybe I'll go to a mini high torque.

  • @67polara
    @67polara Год назад

    Decent method but I've always just gone thru the firing order on my balancer. Takes a wrench but saves the starter I guess. Plus you set two at once then rotate 90''degrees. (720 degrees / 8 = 90). Just better for me.

    Great videos...been watching for awhile now...
    I have a 65' fastback with a flat tappet 302 efi motor.
    I've been wanting to install roller rockers on it...I know the valve covers more than likely won't support the rollers because of height issue...
    If I was to do it properly,wouldn't I need to change pushrods for length difference...
    Thanks for this vid...simplicity
    Please let me know...learning

    Man I love the channel but I advise against this mod. You have no way of containing the pushrods (guideplates). The stamp rockers should have little “guides” that hold the pushrod in place.

    • @hotrodray6802
      @hotrodray6802 Год назад

      ALL 260/289s before April 30, 1966 had slotted pushrod holes in the heads to guide the pushrods/rockers.
      That's the date of the production changeover date to guided tip cast rocker arms. Later heads had big round pushrod holes in them.
