Haha! You're too kind. :) If it does happen, it happens. I'm honestly just trying to have fun with my channel and use it as an opportunity to connect with my viewers. Anything else that might come out of it is a nice bonus. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! :D
Great video! I see you're improving at post-production, which is a skill that wil always be useful one way or another. Another important aspect of the magazines, was the ability to write a letter to them in case you were stuck in a game, and they would reply on the next issue! I recall I wrote about asking how to evolve Feebas in Ruby and Sapphire back then, and I would have gotten a reply about it the following month! Also, many of them featured fanart sections (as in forums years later). Nonetheless, keep up the good work!
Yep! Last time you commented, I really did take your advice to heart and have been focusing more on improving the presentation of my videos. You've really been a huge help on my content creating journey, so thank you for your kindness! 😁 and haha! Those were the days, waiting a month to get a response on how to do something in a game. Gamers had to be very patient back then, with such limited resources at our disposal, we had to try literally anything to get ahead in a game.
When I was young, GameFan and EGM were my two favorite video game magazines-and then I'd go on to work for both. 😄 It's sad to me that the space for magazines in our current era is as small as it's become. I totally understand why, as the power and potential of the internet for covering those same topics just goes so far beyond anything magazines could ever do. Still, there was (and still is) just something about knowing you have a set amount of room, planning out what will go on each page, putting the effort into creating each of those pages, and then-in the end-having this tangible thing you can hold in your hands.
No problem! I'm happy to make videos that are enjoyable to my viewers 😊 Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, too, means a lot to me! I remember my brother and I were always hyped waiting for that new issue of Game Informer to come in the mail. It was the highlight of our month, normally! Good times. 😀
I’m abit late to this vid but this is really cool to see I completely missed gaming magazine when I was a kid in my small town there were none I could get so for the longest time I only knew what new games were coming out when they got on the shelf but it is still cool to see what I missed out on so I do really like videos like this
Better late than never! :) Glad you're here, friend! It's a shame you missed out on the gaming magazine trend, though. :( It's an easy thing for a kid to miss, so I can kinda relate. I was riding off the coattails of my brother, so the only time I got to read an issue was when he brought one home. Super limited experience, but hey! Now's a good time as ever to get into it, with most local video game stores selling older issues these days. :)
Bro idk how ur so unpopular, the only thing I would change is that the writing for your videos are structured like a formal essay. For a teacher this is great, for a RUclipsr this is terrible. I would condense my ideas more and forego most fancy metaphors and writing unless they directly contribute to the meaning of the story. I think the graphics could also have more to do with the script but that’s more editing work.
Thank you so much for the constructive criticism! Really means a lot that my viewers are taking the time to help me improve. I try to implement any and all feedback I receive so I can become a better content creator. More and more people have been pointing out my very "structured" script format and they're all right, including you. School essay format doesn't normally work on RUclips so going forward, I'm going to try some new approaches to script writing. 😀 I'm not necessarily making videos for the popularity. I just genuinely enjoy making videos and taking time to get to know my viewers better. Any popularity that comes out of it is a plus, but I'm really happy to hear that you think my content deserves more popularity!
Swear this is one of those channels that’ll suddenly blow up once the algorithm decides to be nice.

And here in the UK we had 'Crash' magazine to keep us going!
That's so cool!
