NGAD, a rewarmed YF-19 from Macross. Question: Will it transform into Gerwalk and Battloid mode configurations this time? ^~^ would be sooooo epic if it did. >~
NGAD was way up at 100k ft.,snuck behind him from above, launched a missile while growling sidewinder kept saying “he didn’t know where he was.” His plane broke up in two making two fireballs while the third fireball was the pilot, all lighting up the twilight sky.
@@samuelpettington2241 NGAD is going to "slingshot" its missiles using Jupiter's gravity well so prepare for not hypersonic missiles, but fractional sub-luminal speeds. lol
NGAD came out of warp late, ended up being behind you. Fortunately he was able to send his missile through the worm hole it created to hit you. Actually that was not a missile but, an aerodynamic short bus of the future.
I’d love to see a TacView with the NGAD, both with the F-22 and SU-35 to showcase its capability in both fights. Granted, we know next to dirt about the NGAD right now, but while we’re speculating it would be fun to watch
Every time I see the MPBM's effect, I get stunned by such a radical concept of a weapon, and then I get stunned even more realizing the US airforce used to have a missile called AIM-26a Nuclear Falcon.
Considering how Tactical Laser Systems are being developed and the ADFX-01 is capable of carrying a TLS pod, I wouldn't be surprised about your plane disintegrating while flying let alone dying from a burst missile.
If they had used the Wyvern for the NGAD the speed would actually be somewhat believable but there is no way in hell he is reaching that speed with forward swept wings
Stealth could become so effective that BVR fights may not be possible. The Mark I Eyeball may be the only sensor capable of detecting and tracking such an aircraft, and air-to-air combat may revert to guns only, because missiles might be rendered useless at all ranges.
@@davegrenier1160 Following your prediction as the basis of my argument, I think missiles(particularly close range missiles) even then would still be useful, say, an extremely advanced optical sensor, on a missile so advanced that it can do a 90 off the rail
I do wonder what the NGAD will ultimately look like. Sandboxx thinks it's going to be some super high-altitude flying wing thing, but max speed is still below Mach 3, and the turning abilities might actually be inferior to the F-22 since it's designed for pure stealth, altitude, and ordnance, as opposed to any sort of dogfighting. Basically, get *super* high, and just look down shoot down and blow up anything that flies. Most likely won't look like the ADFX-01, but...that would be neat O_o
I doubt either ngad program will be a single aircraft. I have a sneaking suspicion that sr-72 will be incorporated into the program. One of the biggest aspects will likely be advanced sensor fusion.
I think it might turn out like the X-44 MANTA, an X-plane based on the F-22 but with no control surfaces at all, instead relying on thrust vector control to maneuver.

But flying things are fragile and filled with delicate sensors.... But do a few sweeps with a flight of these to clear out air defenses in a zone, then send in the conventional attack aircraft to handle business. This turret design effectively negates the need for dogfighting :/ End of an era?
While cool, i am a little doubtful of the speed and altitude regimes. Remember that there was an interceptor version of the SR-71, named YF-12, which carried I believe Phoenix missiles. They encountered severe issues launching these weapons at such high speeds.

for anyone who wants to know, the NGAD was flying at 30,000m or 30km high. this is very interesting, and to go off of what i was saying earlier, i made a mistake of X-wing aircraft, because its hypersonic at high altitudes the X-wing configuration means nothing with low air drag so technically its hypersonic, super/hyper-manoeuvrable, stealth behemoth.
Just a little observation, but interestingly if it is purely an air dominance stealth fighter meant to take over the job of the F-22, the NGAD likely wouldn't perform such absurdly high speeds as Mach 5, if anything it would probably fly a similar speed to the F-22. In the earlier days, jets were made faster with the interceptor role in mind before missile technology was as sophisticated as it is now; now missiles make up the difference for the lack of speed in modern fighter jets. At that same token, slower speeds favor maneuverability and at a lower cost of production than a jet with a powerful enough engine to reach really high speeds. So in the modern age, it just isn't necessary anymore, but the military could always have a new idea on how to capitalize on the enemy that we've never heard of before, and that could involve an extremely high-speed fighter jet, as long as you can get enough pilots willing to learn how to comfortably fly at Mach 5 haha.

Air burst not a new concept, as you said. As a kid in the late '50s and '60s, we knew of several Nike air defense bases around our State (CT). When I was stationed on the New Jersey shore in 1968 (Army) we would go to the beach in Sandy Hook, not realizing that the concrete bunkers we were sunning ourselves next to contained the Nike Hercules, the nuclear version of the ground-to-air missile! The idea was to detonate the nuclear warhead in the midst of a Soviet bomber flight over the Atlantic and take out most of the flight.
Watching this NGAD concept reminds me of a model "Stealth Fighter" I got when I was a kid, before the F-117 had been shown publicly. The model looked like a shrunk down version of the Blackbird, very unlike the actual thing. I suspect this concept will be similarly "accurate" - I'd bet there will be no fwd swept wings. Extremely cool to watch tho
Was hoping they would build the NGAD off of some of the concept designs coming out of the Lockmart, Boeing etc… looks like they just decided to model a random sci-fi flankeresque fighter. Still super cool…

NGAD - Not Going Anywhere Dude! Lol Great sim vid! 👍
I really love this constant stream of videos recently, it makes me wonder though, how many videos do you make in a day? Preciate the content just dont want you getting burnt out (though you have been playing this for years LMAO)
Now there should be a 1 VS 2 with this against an F-16C and an F-15C !
Enjoying thease videos but I wont be happy until I see you flying the Ngad
I stopped watching this channel for a few days and I come back to wanting more 😂I’m gonna be watching him all day
The Canadian military had nuclear air to air rockets from the 60s until the 80s. The CF-101 Voodoo could carry them.
I really want to see from the NGAD's pov.
Was hoping they would build the NGAD off of some of the concept designs coming out of the Lockmart, Boeing etc… looks like they just decided to model a random sci-fi flankeresque fighter. Still super cool…
Bruhhh the sound the missile makes before impact is mad scary with headphones 😂
5:46 could say high to Jeff Bezos up there in his "Space Tourism"
