    For anyone who is still looking to mod their arcade stick/1Up, it really is easy. But yes, do pay attention to the spring section of this video.
    That being said, it is sooooo satisfying once you mod a stick and make it your own. I definitely recommend everyone to give it a shot. I started just doing the buttons and even that was fun and a big improvement.

    I modded my original 1up street fighter cabinet and installed a raspberry pi 3. Also i completly swapped out the original sticks and buttons for a chinese brand that lights up. Lastly i had to put an a 6lb spring on the stick because i feel like its more solid. All this and i had no experience. I really isnt that hard to do. After seeing this i want sanwa.

      Leds are a real pain to set up and I personally don't like the way they feel. You can buy different buttons on the same site below but I suggest getting the full kit then the buttons after. It's a pain but buying all the stuff to connect the LEDs separate and putting it together is a chore. They sp have kits on Amazon but there are basically the same price.
      Here's a link to a complete set.
      www.diyretroarcade.com/products/led-control-deck-upgrade-kit-compatible-with-street-fighter-arcade1up
      Now for the Speaker upgrade your gonna have to search RUclips. I never got around to doing it so I don't really have a solid direction to throw your way. They standard set up is pretty loud and once you have yours setup it on you to swap them out. Just like the LEDs it does require extra setup and there's no real plug and play kits out there. Hope this helps! Lucky you for getting the MVC2 cab I slept on the pre-order. Hopefully more become available later on.

    Hello, I am getting the Class of '81 Deluxe cabinet, and I'd like to swap out the joystick during the assembly. Do you know if your instructions will be different for the newer deluxe cabinet? Apparently, the control panel and the monitor are 1 unit, so I'm concerned that the install might be different. Also, do you recommend swapping out the buttons too, or just the joystick? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • @coldspacemusic
      @coldspacemusic  4 месяца назад

      I’m honestly not sure what the deluxe 81 cabinet is. But I’d say try it out stock and then see if you want to swap parts. If your just a casual gamer it should be fine. Stock parts aren’t super bad but i do prefer the Sanwa buttons and sticks. People still play online but it has died down from when they first released.

    You didn't replace a 4 way gate with an 8 way gate, you replace a square professional Japanese fighting gate with a octogonal gate used for SHMUPs.
    The square gate has equal throw on all directions the octogonal gate has uneven throw. The reason you prefer it is because your used to european style sticks used in USA which use an actuator instead of a gate, and your used to riding the groove. But Japanese fighting games in Japan come with a square gate by default and Japan pretty much dominates tournaments. PS i also don't like the feel of the square gate(or rather lack of feel) but my dragon punched etc are easier to do and no random jumping

      I would Give it a 10 out of 10. The inputs are smoother and more comfortable, the slight advantage of having the inputs a couple milliseconds faster, and being able to replace the restrictor gate makes its 100% worth the time and effort to upgrade. Also being able to customize it to your liking is also a plus.

    Great video. Just some constructive criticism, you may want to watch all the cussing. I’m not some puritan either. I just think you may have kids watching and I think it’s easier to get subscribers when you’re professional.

      Even tho I doubt kids will be watching this, I think you have a valid point. I am just doing this for fun but your right it is more professional. Thanks for the honest feedback I really appreciate it. 🤝🏽

      @@coldspacemusic You’re welcome, other than that I appreciate the videos. I’ve always used Happ buttons and was never really sure how to put Sanwa buttons in. So thank you. I plan on trying it now on my next project. I know that was in your other video but thanks.

      It's seems like alot but its super easy. But if you want to pay someone to do it that's cool I guess. I was super confused before I started so I get it.

      😂 You work the shaft, I got the balls let's do this 🤘🏼 idk it's more comfortable to me. After I got my fight stick I don't like the bat tops anymore 🤷🏽‍♂️ I got used to the Japanese set up. I wish I could stagger the buttons on the cab but thats alot of extra work time and money

    Had to stop watching because of your terrible language. No reason for it, and some people have young children around.
